    i’ve been having this pain directly behind my right knee since October. There was never a certain incident that caused it but i assumed it was from overplaying soccer. I went to the doctor in november and they said it was hamstring tendonitis and I took winter break and it got better i even began playing again and using my right leg and everything was fine until one day it just suddenly started hurting again. I didn’t do any workouts or exercise the previous day it sorta came out of no where. I went back to the doctor and this time they said in addition to the tendonitis i have a strained hamstring. What always confused me was if this was all due to the hamstring why does it mainly hurt directly behind me knee right in the middle and not the back of my thigh ? If you have any suggestions let me know, thanks

      Its hurting at the tendon attachment which is behind the knee! You absolutely need to do hamstring strengthening and go to therapy for this. Resting and icing wont do anythign for you. Good luck!

    hi there, I would love to know what kind of exercises you should be doing after being injured and treated for around 20 kinesitherapy seances, I play rugby and I had a hamstring strain (1 to 2 degree) and even after all these treatments I still fill a little twitch from time to time when I run just a bit, like at a moderate speed, jogging kinda, and I'm afraid to have it injured again, I have all the summer to skip my field training but I want to get in good for shape for then, so what should i do ?

      Hey Secordo hangan ! It is so hard to day my man. There are dozens of reasons why you chronically strain your hamstrings. Depending on the cause, it would change how I recommend rehab exercises. Generally speaking.... Make sure your hip mobility is good...and that your hams arent over working for weak glutes...Focus on eccentric hamstring strength, like deadlifts, RDLs, Nordics, hip thrusts etc.
      I would say regualr manual therapy and IASTM are a must!!! to improve your tissue quality and manage scar tissue...(some of those low grade 'strains' may be tearing scar tissue form older injuries!
      Hope this helps! Good luck!

      Really appreciate it, thanks fir the information, I'll make sure to go with those exercises with really light loads and focus on the eccentric movement, and indeed i think i do have weak glutes, so I'll try to work on that more, thanks for the informations again.

I am still having trouble walking correctly and my leg swells up big time i have seen two doctors and they gave me bad advice .I ice it all day long and elevate and wear a leg brace now because of the pain. My knee has a pulling effect also when i walk down hill and i cant do stairs its too painful after three months of this pain and awkward walking i am getting really down. Boy that hurts alot. A Charly horse hurts too. I play basketball I know that feeling I hurt my hamstring before I don't like to stretch a tight muscle because it hurts more. Yes I do feel tightness in my hamstring but I try to be careful and try not to make it hurt more. Thank you. I hope he feels better.

      MultiRated Pilot I’m still dealing with it. It’s been a little over 6 weeks. During week 3 I pulled it again and that set me back. Right now I’m doing stretches, massage and heat. I’m riding a exercise bike and a bicycle which feels good. I try basketball in a couple weeks or so. Don’t push your rehab.

    • @damionbirge8265
      @damionbirge8265 6 лет назад

      MultiRated Pilot make sure you stretch it and use a foam roller to work it out. It’s quick power movements that could injure your sons hammy again. If he feels good, have him warm up then test it out but wait one more week to be on the safe side before he tests it.
