Reading these comments just makes me realize how pathetic people can be. These stories are to teach us what our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents have done wrong and learn from their mistakes to never do it again. Yet, some people are just talking about which religion is the best to go to instead of learning what the main lesson of this story is. This is why people makes mistakes like these stories.

I don't care what religion people believe but I choose a religion that I am not a slave to or tie me with it. My shaman friends we go hunting, they always watch what they are doing and certain things they can't do. First of all, if you really read your Bible like the way you should- Jesus warned us to never swear to Heaven and Earth and by God's name. Instead, he says let your "yes" be "yes" and your "no" be "no". When you are going to lie and swear and asked Heaven to be your witness, God is righteous. He is not going to act as your lying witness and allow you or anybody else to drag his name in the mud and taint it. So blame yourself for your own stupidity.

But as a Hmong, I am sure you are aware or have heard of generational curses. Not just within Hmong, but many Eastern/Asian cultures. Even some Westerners believe in generational curses.
In Hmong, Chinese and most Asian cultures, when they changed a person's name or gender (like the Bruce Lee story), it is usually a result suffered from a generational curse passing down. By changing a name or gender, it is a way to try and trick the spirit so it won't be able to find that particular person or bloodline.
