Thankful, I have parents who loves me. I am divorcee and now happily married with 4 kids. My HOPE is that all parents will be like this.
Parents: remember your daughter being a divorcee is better than having them in a coffin.
Omg, this story is like my aunt and grandpa. My dad’s younger sister committed suicide because my grandpa forced her to marry a man that didn’t love her. Because of my aunt’s death, my father took in my sister when she left her husband. All my uncles told my dad to kick my sister out but my dad refused. I am glad that my father was a much better man than my grandpa.

When a father only cares about money and not his daughters' well being, he has no right to feel sad that his daughters are dead. I felt the first daughter's pain and anguish. She was trapped and had no one and no where to go. Her only way out was death. How sad and tragic!😢

I am Hmong man I know what they do it wrong. I am against the way back what Hmong men do back in Laos did.
What a tragic story! Brings me tears. Now a days a lot of OGs are moving away from this path. Hmong culture are moving a little away from the old ways of thinking.

This story is true about Hmong family. Hmong parents doesn't want to have a bad name or ruin their reputation over a divorce. They rather buried their own kids. Us new generation needs to change this.
We are suppose to be a better version of our parents. I’m glad this grandpa is a better version of his dad.

This story makes me sad and angry. Especially at the parents. I hope that as we evolve as a community, we begin to make changes in the way we manage things like this, the words used and be more understanding and nurturing to our Hmong daughters.

It’s just sad how these OG parents just don’t learn the first time around. One time just wasn’t enough. I now have understand when they say we are just a daughter, a daughter meant to be sold for dowry. But shiiiit, that old man was not scared at all! Eeeek I had goosebumps all over 🫣😱🥶

Gosh, I don't understand these parents, forcing their daughters to their death, which could have been prevented. I don't how they live with the guilt. We can and need to do better for our daughters, let's move away from forcing someone to be with someone they don't love. That practice can end, I hope everyone agrees with it. Life is too short, just because we are parents it doesn't mean we can execute someone at the sound of a bell or money in these cases.

Many young girls died for this cruel and unpunished cause. It starts from the family of the girls. Permission is granted from the family to force a young girl, usually under age, to marry. Today, this force marry still practices and young girls die as we speak. Countless souls perished from this world for nothing but greed and selfish act. One thing all parents must know. It is a gift to have children, not a right or ownership to have children.

Life back then for women/ girls is so unfair. Sad they were forced to marry someone they didn't love. May her rest in peace. Our generation needs to change this practice.
Such a shame how we used to treat the girls (certain thing still happen). Keep in mind, you maybe able to force someone on this world but you will answer once you depart this world.
