So i don’t believe City of Cape Town would do such a thing. On the other hand i believe that is the Ghost squad and they are mandated to focus on such events, drag racing etc. Hence they drive the fast cars. There are units to deal with other issues like the taxi unit that solely focuses on public transport. Dont you think those taxi drivers also feel like “soft targets” because no matter what you say, not all of them are bad drivers. Same with this meet up. Some cars wont spin their wheels or make “donuts” in the roadway or drive without front numberplates but they unfortunately part of a group that could potentially have afew bad apples and they just need to endure the wait as the officers try and route out the bad apples. Like i said, i think its only fair. Use to share the same views as you but the closer into the fraternity you get. The more you realize that most of those guys are actually doing a great service to the community. Go drive around in Eastern Cape and see how much “cool drink” money you will pay and how much fines you will get.
