Why the hammer on the clamp arm? I'm looking at one of these.

Good video! I’ve got the same machine ,on the adjustable lever you set the mortise width on the two bolts on the lever so no need site it ,the yellow mark by the scale is width of chain, the mortise will do 3 cuts at one go ,one straight down and two sideways if you set the adjustments on the main swing control ,try the Makita 4 blade tenoner, happy framing!

Thanks for the heads up. I never received any training on this so I had to learn on my own. I'll update the video in the future and point those out.

Hi. I normally clamp my machine on the opposite side when doing a mortice close to the end. I have a small block of wood that inserts along the clamp rail so that it will clamp on even. I’m not at my shop for a week but I can take a pic if you need one. I’m able to mortice right out to the end.

Good review, big time saver, it is a potentially dangerous tool so as always be careful

Thanks. It can be. The switch on the handle is something to watch out for for sure.

Is the clamping with truly 7.48” / 190mm or will it fit an 8” wide timber? Thank you and great video!

I'll test to confirm but I'm pretty sure it will do an 8inch beam with the 7104. The older model won't. I take the one side off of the clamp so it will sit on the beam and use my foot to keep it from walking to the side as I plunge for larger beams.
