Solution Finish continues to be a savior for me. What has worked for you to restore plastic trim?
🙂 yes theres stuff similar on Amazon, the good stuff is at least $30 and up, most people dont know about these really neat products cause they dont have them at walmart✌️😏
Apex Detail Still watching but I like Griot’s Garage Bumper and Trim Reconditioner . It is a black dye and works well. I have heard good things about solution finish and have looked at it lately. This video came just in time.
this does the job..
Brian... after getting fed up with Forever Black use, thorough cleaning and repaint! This would be a much quicker route no doubt.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Very effective and easy to use...you would love it!
Started using this product a few months ago. It's amazing how well this stuff transforms old faded trim.
Like magic!
Most of my detailing playlist information is your videos. You have the best explanations ever. Thanks B!
The Finish almost looks like a fresh coat of paint !! :-) love the ease of application -cure times plus durability !! looks like a winner
!!
A winner for sure!!
Wow Brian! Bring this product back for another battle vs new products
This is the best stuff, keeps my 6yr old Jeep trim looking brand new! Even the top roof rails.
Jeeps...Chevy Avalanches...Absolutely!!
Love this stuff...lasts long time and amazing improvement
Absolutely!
Excellent video! If you go about your business like you did this tutorial you are sure to have very happy customers.
Excellent product ✊Thanks Brian
Looks like a great product! It does remind me a lot of Griot’s trim dye. I will definitely buy some now that I have watched this video. From one Brian to another. Thanks!
A great name! Cheers!!
nothing beats a classic!!great video again buddy. 🍻🍻
It is def a classic!!
Excellent video. Thanks again Brian.
This is the real deal.
Thanks Brian. I am going to apply some of this to my 1989 Mazda 626. I will let you know how it turns out. Thanks.
Thank you Brian, amazing videos and content.
Thanks Ron! Much appreciated!!
Not only is solution finish a great product, so is the owner Chris West. Fantastic guy! Great video, Brian.
I could'nt agree more.
I have used it! It is a fantastic product and does work very well.
It is the real deal.
I had looked into this product about 5 or 6 months ago and found it very impressive after watching a demo of the man that developed it! I am so glad to see that Brian has thrown this product into the mix for showing an excellent demonstration of how to prep your plastic parts prior to applying the Solution finish! I have a friend that I just did a nice wash and wax on his wife's Mazda CX-5 SUV! He has one of the original Chevrolet Silverado's with all that plastic trim on lower body panels and covering the entire pickup bed! The plastic has faded and oxidized to a very light grey with little or no resemblance to the shiny black that it once was when it was new! I'm betting it will take 2-3 ounces easily to do all the plastic!
Brian what would you charge a customer to do the all the plastic on the Chevrolet Silverado like I'm talking about! I'm figuring at least 1 hour to clean and prep maybe a little longer and another 1-1/2 -2 hours to apply a first and second coat! It's a shit load of plastic! :-) It would need to be on a dry sunny day for sure!
I would try to tie it into a full package. But If It was the only service besides a wash being offered...$225
@@apexdetail85 Thanks Brian! I like that price point! (Y)
I know I've said it before, but you can eat off of your detailed engine bays!!! Super clean bro!!!
I used Mother's Back to Black less than a month ago and looked pretty good but is starting to grey again. I really need to try this product.
I have this stuff....works wonders on faded trim!
Absolutely!!
James Biedlar how long does it last? Thank You!
These videos are awesome Brian.
Thanks Mike!! Much appreciated!
Looks amazing
Awesome. Will have to give this a go
You will enjoy the results as I have.
Great video Brian quality product.
It is...good stuff!
_This is an excellent product._
Agreed!!
Amazing product another excellent video Bri . Dave ( UK )
I agree...great product.
Been using this product for a couple years now. Only thing I’d add is don’t get it on your skin because you’ll need a sand blaster to get the staining off. Another great instructional video Brian.
HAHAHAH....yes...agreed. I should have mentioned to wear gloves.
great video. Thanks
Best stuff ever.
I’ve been dealing with faded trim on my Jeep for years. I have tried many products and every outcome is a fail from 20 minutes into the application to 1 week. I have been hesitant to pull the trigger on this product because of my previous fails.
Thank You
akaredcrossbow this shit works
Great video!
This stuff is so underated it's the closest thing to magic
Just amazing, another product to buy !!
Lol...yup!
Only if you need it tho!
I have some other products to buy first
Yup got some of this
Works well takes a couple of coats to get it like new . But I like the product
Is that a friggin' luxury granite counter top work bench out in your shop?! Now that is just gangster as hell man.. 👌👍✌
It's just wooden laminate.
Need to try this
You will love the results. They have a formula for grey trim as well.
I've just bought the big bottle of this and in more modern videos it's applied more simply: no dwell time needed before wiping off and one coat is enough.
Great video as always..
Thanks Greg! Much appreciated!
Awesome video!!!!, I have a question: Can I use this product in the bubber/plastic (inside the car in the doors) in my 2016 Mazda i sport?
Ordered!👍🏻
Good choice!
I need this on my fender flares doe i will try this great video buddy
It will take care of those flares in no time my friend.
If it holds up that long... you sold me on it!
It sure does!
This channel needs more subs..
I am happy with you guys. How will I answer questions if I get a ton of subs?
Hi Brian, can we reuse the pad (the yellow pad in this case) or its one-time and have to throw away?
wow ! just did my wiper plastic trim on my 2005 mazda 3 and it brought it back as brand new !!! I will top it with DLux Cquartz. How long should I wait before applying the ceramic coating after applying solution finish ?
Hello,, is this the best product to use on a NEW replacement top front bumper cover on an older Duramax Truck?
Love this for restoration but now also have a broken tab holding it on ...so replacing it. What should I do before installation of new black plastic trim?
thanks again!
Top notch work as always.
Solution Finish did all the work.
Brian, after you dial in the trim , could you then ceramic coat it to protect for years?
Thanks was looking for something good
Great video Brian, I Need Some of this For My Ride. Which Kind of prep Cleaners did you use before Applying Solution Finish?...
What would you recommend for a new trim protectant? Truck lives outside all year in Arizona.
I have Black Wow... but when it is empty... ordering this!
Good choice
Compared to just scrubbing with APC, IPA wipe then ceramic coating, how does this compare? If you plan on applying a ceramic coating, which does wonders for faded trim on it's own, is this product worth the extra time and money in your opinion?
Recommendation on ceramic coating to apply after?
I know I’m late to the game here, but I found that using a makeup applicator wedge will allow you to save some product. The foam pad that you were using ends up absorbing a lot of product. Great stuff though, I’m impressed!
What type of makeup applicator? I was thinking the same thing about that foam pad, seems like you'd lose quite a bit if product that way. Awesome results though!
@@beerpolice17 they’re wedge shaped. I have no idea what to call them 😂 costs about $2 for a bag of them at Walmart.
@@suprola7961 Thanks bro, I'll definitely look into that
After it cures what do you think about sealing withF11?
Would this work on gloss black vinyl stripes that have faded some?
Can you use solution finish on the pillars of a 2016 Honda Civic?
Hi Brian, you did a review March-2018 which showed "Angelwax Corona" to be good.
Brian, what do you use? What do you like better "Angelwax Corona" or "Solution Finish"?
I want what lasts the longest.
Does it work on any of the plastics found on the engine and engine bay? will it resist the extreme heat generated by the engine?
Would you recommend this product for wiper arms or the trim around the windows on a bmw e46 m3 or is it just plastics with oxidisation? Thanks
Dose it work for scratches and paint on plastic bumper.
Brian, I have 303 and I was wondering is it ok for the outside trim. It doesn't sling around when I apply to my tires, but some ppl claim it will get messy on trim when it rains while others said they've had no issues
can you also use this product for gloss black interior with scratches?
How long does the effect last in the real world?
Much !much , better than New
Will this stuff stain body paint if left to dry on it on accident?
Hi Brian, what type of wax or oil remover can you recommend please
What ceramic coating product do you suggest?
Make certain you wipe the excess off I did not on my top rails of the bed and it did streaked down the sides had to re polish and re applied the gloss coat.
Absolutely...agreed!
would it be ok on grey trim?i know they do a grey version, but would the black be ok too do you think Brian?cheers,Dave
Can you use an ipa dilution (30/70) or a methalayted spirits dilution to remove oils before applying or are they harmful to the plastic? How about a wax and grease remover?
I applied Cerakote trim coating a year and a half ago and now it’s faded, streaky, and flaking off in some places. Do you think this would help even it out? I haven’t found a way to properly remove it
Hi! Should solution finish be like ink black? And is it normal to have like clear oil upon opening? Thanks
Can you put a different sealant on it other then over the top? Does water still bead and sheet on over the top?
Brian can i used it in the dashboard? .. My husband has a pick up truck but the white coating doesn't go away and the dashboard looks faded .. I wonder if this product work! thank you for your post
Can I use for interior door sign feded with tha sun
How do you mix this to be sprayable?
Will this work on tires?
I have a 2012 Ford fiesta and the bottom of the rear bumper is very faded. I have heard that instead of black from the factory it is supposed to be grey. Does this product come in other colors?
Is it still worth it today? I would like to know if the final finish is "matte", that is, without shine. Since I have problems because my dashboard is constantly reflected in my windshield, being very shiny (since it seems that some plastic polish was applied to it before).
What if you don’t remove the pieces, is it ok to get on paint, glass or other surfaces around the piece?
I just bought it online. Im going outside now to do my step sides.
Did it fade back after a few months?
@@ToddTinley no it still looks good. When I go outside today I will get close and check it out closer and get back to you.
Can I top this with my Seal n Shine after its dried 4 hrs?
Can we use this stuff on tires?
*Would you say this product is better than Cerakote trim coat??*
Hey Brian, off topic! Can you do a video on your nano polisher? I have seen you use it in a few vids but nothing showing how it hooks up or any possible adapters needed and what you use to keep the rotary in place while using the nano polisher. Thank you Brian for everything that you do.
Absolutely...I will put something together.
I'm wondering if this is similar to "Wipe New". That's a product that delivers amazing results on plastic, but it clearly melts some plastics and looks streaky.
One of my favorite products that I can't live without! I'm here in AZ, and damn near every vehicle with black trim needs this...even ones a year or 2 old.
B. I have a question for you, what did you guys use to restore black plastic trim before Solution Finish came out? Currently, there's many now that are trying to compete with it, but it's still the "go to" product for oxidized plastic trim. I always wondered what everyone used before Solution Finish came out.
Ok, 2 questions! I just got the Flex mini DA! What are your favorite pads to use for it?
See you in the next video!
Before that...it was a lot of silicone.
Great info as always Brian! How is this removed if it gets onto the paint-work?
Damp towel if fresh...cleaner if dried. Nothing real harsh is needed.
How big is needed the 12oz or small bottle
for any color or just black ?
What wax and oil remover is that
I not experienced with doing this type of detail work. You mention several item in general terms - I woud not know how to buy it. My spouse's 2002 Honda CRV black experior trim has turned very lite gray - almost to white, Would like to fix it. Can you post a checklist - naming brands or products?
What is the first cleaner you use, and what ceramic coating would you recommend ?
I'm also very curious about which ceramic coating to use. Sounds like a great idea.
hi guys... what solution used for the preparation works?
Looks like an outstanding product. I was going to ask about ceramic coating over this. You beat me to the punch. Will this work on those black jeep hood latches that eventually almost crystallize the finish over time?
It sure will...I just applied SF to them last week...then coated them as well.
@@apexdetail85 Thanks mate!
What is the ceramic final coat that you mentioned to give the longest lasting results?
Dlux Cquartz from CarPro
Do you have colors other than black?
Heat gun. I have tried many "magic" back to black products and with little to no success. I tried anyway gun today and it worked
