Excellent vid. Got a tip for viewers. Lift the hood up, it’s usually easier to apply with hood out of way and while the hood is up remove the wiper arms . You will save yourself time and possibly some minor grief if you get Solution Finish on the black wiper arm as well it’s easier to work on cowling if arms are out of the way
Obviously the chrome hitch is a tease for the upcoming Dane polishing video. Also glad to see Solution Finish will remove years of lumberjack juice buildup
Furniture oil is what people should be using. The reason trim and plastic fade is because of it losing the natural oils in the plastic. Restore the oils and it brings it literally to a brand new state. It will last until the plastic naturally loses its oils over time. We are talking YEARS. Might have to redo it around the 10 year mark. There is no need to spend a ton of money on these products. Also, zero prep is needed using furniture oil. It cleans your trim as you wipe it on. Wipe off the excess and you're good. There is no streaking or uneven spots.
4th from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷 I have solution finish and it is great. Like you said, the only thing is to use a coating to have it sealed so it lasts for long.
@@mikeblakeslee i recommend ceramic coating. Even cmx or even better hydroslick/hydrospeed from chemical guys if you don't wanna dish out a lot of money for a full ceramic coat
Solution finish is solvent based. Much like paint, it adheres to the plastic trim. The ones you see on car sections on walmart are dressing types. Much like traditional car waxes, it comes off with a few car washes. Solvent does come off but lasts much longer than dressing types.
The Rag Company, I'm new to car detailing, so please indulge me. --What does Anthony mean at 3:01? Solution Finish Trim Restorer does not protect (coating?) your trim? It simply makes it pop? Hey I like ur tshirt. Need to make similar thsirts for my boys. Is their any way you can send a sample nof this tshirt here in India. Can paypal you. Looking forward for ur response. And nice work
Me too unfortunately. Switched to Tacsystem Moonlight and it did the trick, lasted many, many months. Prep was definitely done right. I really wanted to like Solution Finish 😕
@@Malborex thanks for the tip, but the plastic was faded, hence the use of a trim restorer. I simply found Moonlight better option than Solution Finish.
What vehicle are we talking about here? I'm wondering what kind of trim it is, because I've never had a situation where Solution Finish didn't work perfectly. Did it have some kind of coating or some other kind of sealer/dressing on it that didn't get fully removed when you wiped with IPA? How long did you let it cure before getting it wet? When it is applied correctly and bonded to the surface, it actually provides good hydrophobic properties for quite awhile.
Bingo. I use furniture oil myself. People don't understand that to restore the plastic, you HAVE to restore the oils. I've seen a lot of people use teak oil, but I use boiled linseed oil. Not only does my trim and plastic look brand new, but my truck smelled like a freshly serviced gun for weeks 😍
Furniture oil is better than every restoration product on the shelf. You want to restore the natural oils in the plastic, not blast it with a bunch of chemicals that do not work. If any of these products truly worked the way they claim, they wouldn't be making money- people would only have to buy their junk once.

Solution Finish is the real deal. The West Family makes great products.
Whaaaaa, now you got me curious, what other products they make.
Furniture oil is much more effective at a fraction of the cost.

That was so satisfying to watch the trim behind restored. I 🖤 detailing & I 🖤 TRC!
Solution finish is awesome and a local business to me!
You are going to see this stuff fly off the shelves now. Awesome product and great video. #TRCmaTruck
Love some Solution Finish 🔥
This, and the other videos I have seen, are about how to RENEW. How do I KEEP my new trim looking new?

Great stuff…much appreciated!!! Happy Thanksgiving!

Whats the difference between this and a trim restore / coating? and also do you toss towels after wiping off the stuff or can you just wash them?

This is perfect for restoring but what if it’s new and you want to protect it? 303? Chemical Guys VRP?
Is it still holding after 3 years?
I have a Ford f-550 with a lot of gray plastic what can I use to restore that
Wow! The finish is like day 1 OEM?
You did it!
Are you sure it won’t stick on chrome or steel of paint what if it’s a white car

I would still use the isopropyl imo, just so you make sure that it will bond to the plastic trim
Did the one bottle have enough for the whole truck ?
A little goes a long long loooooong way. Got an avalanche and did my whole truck without even using a quarter of a bottle
Any concerns with using this as an engine dressing? Eg Air box, and other plastic trim?
Just be careful not to accidentally pour it on reservoirs. Also best is to let the solution cure before using the car
Is this self-leveling? I’m worried about streaking or high spots.
Can it be applied in direct sunlight? If you said it i must of missed it.
nope these products should never be applied in direct sunlight

Is this permanent ? Or how long does it last?
Last abt 4 months
What about on my fender flares their black just a bit faded
Umm.... does it work on tires?!
Thanks young Drew Carey! 😂
How’s the smell of this product?
Nothing

@@theTHiiiNG Solution Finish needs a faded plastic. If the plastic is in good condition, it can't penetrate into it, cause all the pores are "Full".

Permanent? No ...
Lasts approximately 8 months ...
While linseed oil lasts 8 times longer, if you follow commonly used "youtube" directions.
