A few actors like Scott McNeil and Paul Dobson who voiced a few TUGS characters in Salty's Lighthouse also voice acted for other fan-favorite cartoons and anime shows, including Dragon Tales, Hamtaro, etc. I do like some voices that do feel grounded unlike the cartoony voices for the US test pilot, while there are a few others that didn't flow well. I don't mind Sunshine being female cause a few other shows w/ a male dominated main cast also done the same thing like Muck in the US dub of Bob the Builder (just the voice that sounds rather scratchy). Also, RIP to French Tickner who passed away only three years ago.
As an American boy born in 1990, I was introduced to Tugs via Salty's Lighthouse, completely oblivious to Tugs' origins until 2006, and after watching the original Tugs episodes, I now spit on Salty's Lighthouse.
The sad thing is the voice actors in this travesty did a lot of voice acting for various anime and action cartoons and did a far better job in those. Paul Dobson and Ian James Corlett in particular gave exceptional performances in Mainframe Entertainment shows like Reboot and Beast Wars. The voice director in this basically had actors who I know would have given their all in voice acting on par with the original TUGS voice casts, and they forced them all down to the level of pandering because talking tugboat show for kids = baby crap

This wasn’t the Shining Time Station equivalent we Tugs fans were hoping for
