Nard should get some kind of journalism award... he always catches em off guard, and rolls through whatever happens after... he is bona fide. First recipient of the Trollitzer prize!
It’s my family friend the Captain! (This was around when I saw them live for the first time at age 11 not just hearing his voice on the ol’ answering machine..)
The originator of Canadian gonzo (nardzo?) journalism and the originators of British punk rock (Sex Pistols were second or third and, technically, more of a proto-manufactured boy band than genuine DIY punk). Fantastic.
Im starting a project about punk rock, but it wouldnt be fair to use my point of view alone to describe every aspect about punk; so, to any punk rocker, music lover or anyone with an opinion about the following subjects it would help me out, give me YOUR idea about the subject: what is a sellout, what is a poser, what do you think about punk style, good examples of punk bands and why anything else you would like to add would be cool
@@sinbysin666 I liked the first couple of PIL albums but I have to disagree that anything they did was "better" than the Sex Pistols. Oddly enough, for me, there's something about the combination of Matlock and Jones "trad" rock song structures together with Lydon's untrained and unpredictable voice which seems even more original than the combo of Lydon with the much more forward looking vibe which Levine and Wobble came up with.
+TheUrbanWolf Imo, a project about punk-rock doesn't need a chapter on "posers" or "sell-outs" as those phrases belong firmly up the arses of teenagers who, ironically enough, would sell their virginity for almost anything.
I'm just trying to understand what you put. I get the poser and sellout part is usually brought up by younger people, but what the hell are you talking about "selling their virginity"?
BIG Poo I'm not sure what you don't get, lol. I'm basically highlighting the irony, because most young people today would be the first to "sell-out" if the chance arose, it's ironic because it's usually the same young people who drone on about "posers" and "sell-outs."
London Calling and Machine Gun Etiquette were recorded at the same time at Rockfield studios on Wales. Joe and Topper are also on the (vastly inferior to the Ed Hollis version) of Noise Noise Noise on the MGE!
Dave and Captain Sensible are most Punk attitudes. LEGENDS! They inspired many popular people and bands never got real attention.
Right they’re so underrated!
They should be playing in arenas!
You can tell Nard is stoked to be talking to these guys, I'm sure the banana mashing was appreciated.
He pushs too far sometimes, like in this one they were really annoyed with Nardwuar
i loved when nardwuar teases captain sensible about the terrible song "Wot". Dave doesn't miss a beat and says what you want lol!!
i beg your pardon, wot is an excellent bit of songwriting craft

Fantastic.
Doctor Feelfunny the Pistols had formed before the Damned, so idk what you mean. The Damned were the first UK punk band to release an album, though.

So how did the project pan out?
The Pistols refused their induction didnt they.
Yes. The best thing any of them have done since they split up.
@@blackmore4 Well. If you ignore the whole PIL thing. Every PIL song (by itself) is better than the Sex Pistols record.

@@blackmore4 fair enough. PIL is one of my favorite bands. Even up to the recent stuff.

Cheers Captain!!!
happening now GET FUCKED
They were pretty good sports, actually.
Oh this is a fun gun banana😮dont ever hit a vampire.
Captain Sensible seems like a bit of a nugget.
This isn’t in the Nard Punk playlist?
I do love The Damned, but I also did feel sorry for poor Nardwuar getting abused by Captain Sensible. He handled it well, though.
i mean, he did set it up tho. . .im pretty sure he knew what was coming, better than it going up his ass though either way. . .
@@glitterbrains69 - 🙈 😄
He asked for it & loved it.
@@Slinkygal - May your impression be right!

Nardwuar really does love cheese
The Cap is fuckin crazy
Im not if captain is being playful or really disrespectful.
He plays in The Damned he can do whatever he wants
Since when was punk rock about being respectful and following rules
Absolutely playful for sure; he's a great guy.
Can someone please tell me what the song is around 2:15?
Dave rightly turning his back on this Gonk.
Hahaaaa!
why did they hate The Clash?
Why not?
On machine gun etiquette's title track (second time around) Joe and topper make an uncredited cameo.
