This is part 2 of my 3 video saddle build. In it I'm working on a 16" Wade style tree, building a 3/4 single rigged custom stock saddle. Please note this series is not intended to be a tutorial. It's simply a compilation of most of the steps I went through to build it.

How is the saddle build coming?! I cut the first pieces on my first build 2 days ago. You can do it!

@@asons13, I’ve decided to settle on the “repair” part for a bit. See if I can learn a few things about that aspect then go for a build. Someday, is a sprint fir me, not a marathon. Good luck on your build!

What a lot of work making a saddle. So many layers! this guy is an expert. Beautiful workmanship and scroll work. A top quality saddle, which I would love to own, and use. Also, I like how sharp your knives are, especially the "Tumi" blade. I enjoyed watching you work. Thank you.

Well... I did everything in a very different order on the saddle I am building. I am at the forks cover and boy is it hard. I have wasted 2 tries and am going to attempt the 3rd tommorow. I've been using the Stohlman books and they are great - but they can't tell you everything! After watching this I can see the wisdom of slick forks but I have what I have and will figure it out. I will try fitting it and lacing the sides as that seems to be the only option left. Luckily I am pretty good with lacing and braiding and should be able to pull it off. It is a challenge but i think it will be worth it when I ride in a saddle I make.

Get the saddle makers shop manual. It’s so much more helpful than the stohlman books.. they’re dated. The shop manual builds a wade from beginning to end

This man is incredible. No way a person’s hands can hold up to that much torque. He must have carpal tunnel. I would charge $10,000 per saddle with this much work.
