I’m blown away at the amount of work, skill, and artistry that goes into the making of a fine saddle. I’ve always admired a beautiful saddle, but watching this, i have a knew level of appreciation. I also wonder how anyone other than the very rich could afford one.
WOW I am so impressed! I am a Danish saddler and saddle fitter (taught in UK) and I've made sevaeral English saddles. Ive always admired the western saddles though, and I thought - "maybe for next years saddlery competition in London ill supprise them with a western saddle... How hard can it be?!" I am completely humbeled by the crafsmanship that goes into the making og this kind of saddle. And - I now understand why they are so incredibly heavy ;) Thanks for this very thourough step by step video.
I watched all three of this series over and over, I'm going to build my last saddel on a 200 year old tree with a eutiful 14 " swell. I started my career as a horseman in 1962 sitting astride one just like it, here is the best info you can find , he's pretty darn good
