Soraidh Slàn le Fionnairigh / Farewell to Fiunary
The wind is fair, the tide is fine
And swiftly, swiftly runs the time
My boat lies wating on the tide
To carry me from Fiunary
Bu tric a ghabh mi sgrìob leam fhèin
Mun cuairt air lùchairt Fhinn an trèin;
'S a dh'èist mi sgeulachdan na Fèinn
'Gan cur an cèill am Fionnairigh.
We must up and haste away
We must up and haste away
We must up and haste away
Farewell, farewell to Fiunary
Bu tric a sheall mi feasgar Màirt
Far am biodh Oisean seinn a dhàin,
A' coimhead grèin aig iomadh tràth
Dol seach gach latha 's mi 'm Fionnairigh.
Beannacht le athar chaomh mo ghrá,
Beidh mé ’g cuimhneamh ort go brách;
Guím gach sonas ’s gach ádh
Don tsean fhear ’bhí i bhFionnairigh.
We must up and haste away
We must up and haste away
We must up and haste away

So wonderful to see the songs my grandmother sang to me being sung by a new generation.
When I was a little boy some 80 years ago my grandmother would sing to me this beautiful song!
fav faces, fav voices, fav tune
Hearing the multiple dialects and accents of Gàidhlig/Gaeilge in this song is a beautiful treat.
Gorgeous singing and song ever adore this ever Kris and Liam Julie and Muireann topsssssss thank you

This was beautiful. It was a privilege to hear all of you sing. You all have amazing voices and talent. With love, from Seattle.

This is a lovely song which I first heard sung by Brian Osborne of the Blackpool Taverners in the 70’s.
Nie wiem o czym śpiewacie, ale to jest piękne ❤
Thank you for this!
Oh Wow x We Love this so much x
Just class. Fantastic.
Dia dhuit Peter, glad you enjoyed it!
Liam AND Julie?! Could I ask for more??
Yes, Kris and Muireann
If this doesn’t bring tears to your eyes, there’s something wrong with you.
❤️
I love this stuff. Is there any way to purchase or download music from the Port series?
Dia dhuit Craig, I'm not aware that a collection of music from the series exists. It's a good idea!
@@TradTG4 It would be a very good idea and a tour?
Don't hold your breath waiting for a tour at this, or any time in the near future and beyond.
We're all effectively unemployed, making lockdown videos and trying to figure out how to pay the mortgage.
Touring is distant memory.
Salinte mhath
Ceol an deas
Ivan's talented son...
This song confirms to me, the Irish are one of the lost tribes of Israel.
it's a SCOTTISH Emigration song but the Irish have some too !
