36:16 Michele Burks (katy’s VA) had a PHENOMENAL voice and it really showed in this song. i’m glad that she sang more as katy in the Make It Sweet! album, but it’s a shame we didn’t get more of her in general. may she rest in peace

This game was golden for a spinoff of a game about a dog rapping to woo a talking flower. Lammy extinguished a fire, put a baby to sleep, piloted a plane, made a new guitar, and even played a song in hell/ an island.
If you told me this before I played it, I wouldn’t understand wtf you were talking about 💀
its definitely silly but i love that this story convinces Lammy that she isn't just a wimp at everything but guitar, but that she could approach many things with the same confidence she has playing guitar, same with Chop Chop Master Onion who doesn't need a Dojo to teach what he's learned
Fun fact: Even the main art director, Rodney Greenblat, was so put off by the main direction of the game he almost wanted to quit the project all together. Of course he didn’t leave the gaming industry until the production of the Parappa the Rapper Anime, which he says was the reason for him leaving and wanting to just do museum art and stuff like that, mainly because Sony was breathing so far down his neck about the direction and design of the show…
Oh yeah, there’s also a 30 episode Parappa the Rapper anime that’s fully watchable on RUclips in its entirety, complete with subtitles.
Also fun fact: one of the devs were actually asked in an interview if they were taking some sort of substances, to which he responded, “No, we just didn’t get sleep for a while.”

btw theres a parappa version of all the um jammer lammy songs, once you beat all 7 stages of um jammer lammy, you unlock parappa mode where its all the stages (except the first stage) but it has different lyrics and different song beats, and different cutscenes, but parappas voice is low quality because they ran out of space for his voice quality so they had to remove some of the quality from his vocals
I _just realized_ that Lammy’s weird guitar request at 25:21 is probably a reference to Joe Chin’s car in _PaRappa 1_

i loved watching you play the trilogy lol. you should totally try parappa's versions of the um jammer lammy songs, they have different patterns, more of a hip-hop sound rather than rock, and also its own storyline! although some transitions to songs are unexplained because they could only fit so much into one game lol but i think you'd like the different songs!❤️❤️
i've also got a recommendation for a weird game! it's called deadly premonition, it's a murder mystery open-world third person shooter, super strange story but lots to do and fun to uncover the mystery!❤️

Are you gonna play the Parappa mode? It’s pretty similar to Lammy’s songs, but the cutscenes are different, the backtrack is different, the lyrics are changed a bit and of course, Parappa is singing it

40:36 You unlock parappa mode after completion of the game with unique versions of the songs.
Did you know there IS a parappa side to all the songs you played in this video (They have different button inputs so some stages might be easier or harder) BUT honestly, I think you should check it out!, Even if this video was posted in the 12nd of October, Plus Parappa has his own cutscenes and stuff!
