  • Do you need to push hard on the switch for the boot to open? The switch may be the problem.
    I show you how I fixed this problem on my car.
    Please, forgive me the extremely dirty car in this video.

    Thanks this worked perfectly on my 2005 astra estate. Saved me the £100 that vauxhall quoted me to get it fixed 👍

    "Cant open the tailgate"
    Let's fix this! - Proceeds by opening the tailgate and fix it from the inside :D
    Can you include instructions on how to override and open the tailgate if it won't open at all?

    When it rains I get water in my trunk from the tailgate handle but I can't find where the water comes in when I remove it😢

  • @dejanmiladinovic7969
    @dejanmiladinovic7969 8 месяцев назад

    I would also like to add that the small connector for the lock and license plate light, behind the chrome strip, can corrode and lose contact, so the bulbs do not light or the trunk does not always open.
    That was my problem.

      Theres an emergency unlock hole in the boot, take the gromit off and use a wide flat screwdriver

  • @craigcurtis9561

    The glue holding the switch in has failed so just push it back in and re-glue it in place don't add bits it's only a temporary fix.

    • @merulafilms7863

      Mine is a permanent fix and is still working perfectly years after the repair. Both methods will do fine.

    • @merulafilms7863
      @merulafilms7863  8 лет назад +1

      I am sorry, but I am not quite sure about that.. Maybe you could access the locking mechanism from the inside of the tailgate? Good luck!

      +MerulaFilms thank you. i managed to fold the rear seats back and turned a screw to unlock the boot from the inside. now need to take it apart.

      +Sidney G. could you help me how you did that, I have the same problem

    • @sidraines
      @sidraines 8 лет назад

      If you fold the rear seats back, you will then see a small black rubber circle on the opposite side of the door lock, if you remove it, you will see a gap where you can use a screwdriver to turn left and it will open the boot door from the inside, you will also need a T40 Torx screwdriver to remove a screw once you get the boot door open.
