A close inspection of the mechanism brings me to the conclusion that there is a tool available from vauxhall to do this Job so anyone with earlier vehicles would benefit from checking with a vauxhall dealer.I have a mk5 astra and the bolt head has a square hole with offset nearly opposite slots. You could possibly make a tool from an old door knob and shaft.

Need to have mine working for monday its sat now, boots just gone i need to transport some items as still working and is a requirement. Can i use this to lock and unlock for a week or so till i can order a part and fit. People are relying on me so really need my boot to get thier requirements. Thanks.
Hello. I've got a problem in my Opel Zafira A (2003). The rear right door is locked and I cannot open it neither from outside nor inside. Central lock doesn't work for both rear doors, but I can open the left one. I suspect an open wiring harness is the cause, but first I'd like to open them somehow. I managed to take the door panel apart but I don't know to unlock the door manually. Should I push or pull something, or maybe unscrew some more bolts?
Checked this for a friend. Had the same problem with my 407, what a stupid system, what happens when you can't get at the plug because the boot (or trunk whatever you want to call it) is full?
Thanks for that, being disabled not to easy for me to do, have to admit perfer the button on my old zafira A, don't know why they couldn't of incorporated an lever by driver's seat... But at least there's a way of opening it... Thanks again
I managed to open purely by force. Not using this method. I had the same light on dashboard. Got the boot open by continually pressing the latch and shaking the tailgate. Since put a new lock on and all perfect. The motor inside the lock had seized and wouldn't release the latch anymore.
Can you please help. Vauxhall zafira b cdti 1.7 BC button stopped working while car been parked up for 2 months. Car radio works fine but don't display on screen for example it doesn't show what station it's playing but car drives fine please help thanks.
