Every car enthusiast knows the pain of scraping that front lip getting in and out of driveways, or having anxiety about where you can and can't drive.
Thanks to the Stanceparts aircups, we no longer have that issue in our 900hp Supra project car :)
This video shows how they work, and what you need to do to install them.
These give a perfect combination between air-ride and track capable coil-overs. With air cup suspension you keep the ride quality and performance of your coil-overs and have the ability to raise your car with the push of a button. A great system for show, track, drift or daily driven cars.
The air cup lift system will fit on 90% of any brand coilovers. Your coilover must meet a certain dimensional requirement, otherwise the system will not fit.
It is basically an air cylinder on top of your coilover. Normally you will drive low, without the cups pressurised. Whenever you need to pass an obstacle, such as a speed bump or a driveway, you can apply pressure to the cups and it will raise your car around 50mm.
They are pretty cool. And very useful from what I see. You can go over bumps in parking lots and go fast
You should not continously drive fast/aggressive over an Extended period of time on air cups.
Over in Australia ride height laws are pretty strict. So maybe before getting pulled over, quickly airing up and pretending like this is your ride height would allow you to get away with it 🤣
I swear Australia is always looking to police its people in more and newer ways.
Even with 50mm + of clearance, it wouldn't be enough here in my country; however, great setup and thx for the alignment advice
I forgot to include it in the video, but the leading edge of the nose raises 12cm when the front cups are activated, so it's a substantial amount of clearance, around 25cm. Enough for most locations!
I wish I seen this video before I bought a airbag suspension just because I was tired of the scraping of driveways and speed bumps.
Need these for my Supra ASAP
One of the best mods we have done.
Cant wait for the Yaris vids ;)
No idea on delivery date yet but we're looking forward to it!
@@StreetFXofficial im in the same boat as you. Can't wait for delivery!
I own a set these front and rear air cups for my 1993 MR2 Turbo with Tein Type Flex coilovers. I haven't yet installed the air cups though so can't comment on them.
Great video man, thank you for bringing that to our attention. That ending 😍 sounds gorgeous 🙌🏼
It's a very fun car that's for sure!
Far out man, I'd be calling stanceparts for an affiliate link, you're probably giving them so much traffic right now xD
Had these on my R33 GTR. I too thought it was a great idea, but found it reduce my shock stroke by about 35% making it terrible to drive on bumby roads. It is also totally illegal in Australia at least...
It would completely depend on your coilovers. If they have limited stroke then then you will lose enough movement for it to be noticeable. The cups occupy around 20mm of your available stroke when aired out, so if that was 35%, you had some terrible coilovers or theyd been set up poorly.
That would indicate they only had 55mm of movement in total. That's an exceptionally short stroke. We find typical coilovers have far more than this.
In our case though we had MCA build the coilovers with a slightly longer than usual stroke to accommodate for the 20mm used, however I'm most cases this isn't absolutely necessary.
I wondering about driving on the street long distances with it raised. I run a very aggressive track focused alignment so less camber while street driving distances could be a good thing. How about noise?
Great vid. I'll look into this
Is it possible to add the buttons that control the high of the car into the steering wheel ?
Can u come off a curb and while ur driving off around 20km can u deflate the cups while driving or do you need to stop?
Super handy..cool mod
Makes the car oh so much nicer to drive. We can't take our yellow car to the shops as it's too low to get into the underground Carpark 😓
KW HLS is the best, air is
compressible and changes the springrate, so you can drive lifted with the hydraulic KW HLS system.
It's a fantastic system, no doubt but it's incredibly expensive. This set up only adds around 700 to your coilovers. The KW HLS is 3k or more alone.
Typically speaking you shouldn't drive with even then in high, it will still upset wheel alignment.
@@StreetFXofficial yeah you are right with the costs :) with a good axlekinematik the alignment isnt a big problem.
Since air is compressible, isn’t it will be bouncy ride when the air cup is pressurized?
Could one use these to drive all time with them inflated if you get an alignment while aired up and use it so car looks slammed when parked and let air out
This is what I'm looking for, for my Smart Roadster (and just the front lift would be what I would need)... Except, that air tank... The Roadster is such a small car, and that air thank will eat too much space :S
theres a compressor only setup for a front lift kit
Nice one thanks for this.
Awesome video mate. Where did you get the front & rear switches? They look the part 👌🏾
We had them custom done, let us know if you need any :)
@@StreetFXofficial need switches link pls
I have a spare wheel at the back, plus I need my luggage space, so is it safe to install the tank and compressor underneath the bonnet/hood?
are these available for vy/vz commodore?
Link for the custom switch???
What kind of suspensions are these
Do y’all make these for a 2012 sxt charger
Want these for my vette
What was your clearance height before the lift. Thank you
Cool stuff 😇
Great video that’s exactly what I was looking for
will this work with jrz rs1 for porsche 997?
Can you make one for a 2006 avalon?
how loud is the compressor?
Such a baby
Does the aircup space up the car at all? Meaning even when aired out the car would sit higher?
No, you just compensate by dropping the coilovers lower
@@StreetFXofficial my Teins are already at the lowest, hmmmm new coilovers too 🤔🤔
The cups eat around 15mm of the travel, so you need to accommodate that.
Perfecto:)
Can it be used oppositely? I mean I usually drive lifted up. Where I live there's lots of small damps and staff like that. But when I get to smoother roads I wanna enjoy the aired out mode. So, is it ok to be using it with lifted up mode mostly (with the alignment set up according to this mode) and air it down when i need. I'm asking this cuz you know. . . this is mainly kind of a coilover, not a lift system and I may easily cause it wear out soon
Max speed when lifted up is 40mph. Also it should not be driven like that for a long time
How do the alignment specs hold up after multiple uses? Any changes?
Since they return to their original location when aired out, the rest of the components would simply act as if we have been over a bump or jacked the car up. Nothing should change with alignment.
Do you know if these will work with something like Viking or qa1 shocks?
All you need to check is the shaft diameter of the shock and the size of your spring diameter. If you have a look at stanceparts.com.au there's a reference guide that will help you figure if it will fit.
We've not encountered any coilovers they don't fit yet, so you should be good, but check the guide first :)
Me: I really want this
My wallet: no you don't
Ahah it's cheaper than replacing front lips and repainting it twice, that's how we figure it :P
It'll set you back around 600-700usd for the front setup.
@@StreetFXofficial huh, actually thats a lot less then i was thinking
Will this fit on a nissan s14 200sx?
So if you get pulled over...
You're onto something there ;)
neat
Mark Webber Is that you??
Woowwwww
