Anyone else felt really bad for the gray prince after completing his quest? Like shit, I really wish I could tell him to accept himself for who he is and that it didn’t matter who his parents were. What mattered was the name and glory he himself made.
Some mad god he is actually shunned for finding out his own identity. You can sometimes hear dialogue in the game where NPC's will say "Did you hear? The grey princes farther was a vampire! Someone should put him down!" Or something along the lines of that. Not to mention he considered himself a "hero" public shunning and self deprivation assisted in his "suicide" I guess.
+Asya I can see that a bit but his dad wanted to rip him from his mother's belly just to teach her a lesson. He was obviously a bastard at heart for that alone since he wanted to murder his own son for his mother's actions. I guess you can call him a bigot but everybody in Tamriel is a bigot towards vampires and I don't blame them. They are the invention of the most evil daedric prince and therefor engineered to cause as much pain and misery as possible. I'd be ashamed too if I found out my dad was that thing everybody was terrified of and conspired to murder me and my mothe

So I can't see why the father is the bad guy here. they would've live a not normal but stable life if the mother accepted the father's true nature
I've played from Morrowind and I have yet to see a Vampire living a ''good'' life in Elder Scrolls. 99% are wrought with evil, sorrow and death and maybe in the 1% you've got the count of skingrad who gets by and no more, the mother probably knew this. No rational person would ever agree to be in a relationship with someone who can kill you easily and is addicted to blood like a heroin addict is to heroin.
When you really think about it, the grey prince might be a idol to empire's orc population, orcs are generally thought as barbaric and barely above animal. So grey prince might actually be a hero to little orcs like superman is to metropoli's kids

I was looking forward to this epic fight with this epic warrior, but then he just stood there and actually told me to just kill him. I didnt wanna fight him if he wasn't gonna fight back, so i tried leaving. But I couldn't. I love oblivion but I was EXTREMELY upset and disappointed when he just let me kill him

I'm dragonborn, killed a dragon and absorb it's soul. Archmage of winterhold. Nightingale. I also went to sovengade and slain the world eater alduin. I went to hermaeus mora lair and slain miraak, another dragonborn too. I have travelled to soul cain as well. Killed all the dragon priest. Killed an old master vampire lord. Anddd yet people still treats me like a peasant. Seriously man, feels like elder scrolls games really need some impact on the game after you progresses. At least, in oblivion people will call you champion of cyrodill
I have 1 infamy and people keep saying "I used to think you were a hero but you're just a sinner like the rest of us" they make it seem like I murdered their family

Lol I did something much easier than doing the vampire quest, glitching through the wall or using an op summon spell. I reverse pickpocketed an enchanted hood with fire damage to self into agronak's inventory. By the time he accepted my challenge and we got to the middle of the announcer's speech, agronak died and the gates weren't even lowered yet.
I love how genuine your laughter is when you play this game even though you've played like a million hours or whatever. Oblivion is my favorite game of all time, hands down and i don't think ill ever stop loving this game

Because of the scaling system, it's actually more difficult to beat him at higher levels, which is absurd. I made a video where I play the whole arena quest line at level 1, you can check it out.

The Cantina how did yas do that? I always start it then you beat about three and they get better so I go off get better gear come back do a few more lol everyone always mentions the scaled levels but I always found it easier as you levelled up.

simple archery is hands down strongest class in a game when it comes to winning unfair fights(multiple opponents and ,or much higher level enemies then you,also you don`t need crazy high level or beast items to be able to win)
Everyone: The more you level up, the harder the game is. Me: LVL 1: this game is so hard.. LVL 8: All these one hit kills, golly im op. (Seriously, I sneaked around the gray prince with The Black Hand robes, a simple dagger and boom, one hit kill)

Didn’t make much sense how polite and courteous the grand champion of a gladiator, fight to the death arena was, maybe that was the developers intent, but as a kid I was pretty confused by what a nice guy this slayer of countless opponents he was.
I kind of feel bad for Lord Lovidicus... BUT also he should have told his side lover Luktuv that he was a vampire and given her a chance to decide before getting in too deep with him. You know... investing time and energy into a relationship where she'd have to worry. Lord Lovidicus admitted such in his writings "She would share all of my fears but none of my abilities. Her life would become one of doubt and uncertainty. Still, if she is to spend her remaining mortal days with me, she has the right to know the truth." (Entry 3) . I mean it's really not good to hide serious things like that. Not only did she have to fear for herself, but her unborn child as well. Anyways, I'm not doing the quest in my next playthrough cause I just... it's a clusterfuck and Agronak paid for it. He deserved a chance to fight as a true combatant and not broken depressed dude.
In Morrowind I would levitate like a super Saiyan and unleash a magic nuke with an ungodly amount of damage one-shoting the entire Population of Vvardenfell. 🤣
I found out recently that the arena combatants don’t attack most of the Shivering Isles creatures you can conjure. One good trick is to get the Shadow birthsign, summon a strong creature, and immediately turn invisible. Super easy way to get gold for almost no work
a very easy and very sassing way to get rid of the adoring fan permanently is to lock him in a dungeon by going into a cell and telling him to wait here
As others have said the grand champion match is bitter sweet. First he is actually friendly from the start. Very different from the champion you meet. Made even worse if you complete his quest. Finally...its usually the first quest i would do after exiting the sewer. Mainly because of the reinment and pay is pretty descent for a low level character. Also the adoring fan is the most useless follower in the game. (For those that don't know there are several characters you can make follow you who are incapable of dying. And as long as you stay away from a target destination can help you clear tombs caves and close oblivion gates. These characters being martin, jauffre, and 1 character from both mages guild and fighters guild. Been awhile since playing but 1 is trapped in a cave and you rescue. After clearing you are given the option of him following you back to skingrad. Just say yes and never go back. I believe that was mages guild. Pretty sure fighters guild guy is the first one that goes on a quest with you. Martin and jaufree are added on that little walk to cloud ruler temple. Just remember having these followers stops you from finishing their respective questlines. There may even be more. Those are just the ones i figured out. Oh and they can be "knocked out" for a short time. But will revive. I knew i was in trouble the first time we stumbled into umbra and she made very short work of all 4.)
@@genericwhitemale9566 in oblivion the original arena grand champ is half vampire because his father was a vampire and his mother was an orc. He never drank blood and could be in the sun so he was half. Its a rare thing though im sure

My orc character licked the Gray Prince in literally 3 hits. Couldn't be bothered with the quest, just beat his ass the old fashioned way. He was tough, he was rough, but my Elven Mace of Dynamo ( 45 shock damage, 5 sec Soul Trap) made short shrift out of him. I also had the Chorrol quest shield with 25% reflect.
I think it's because he's not actually a vampire. I believe Skyrim explains that vampire children are born mortals and have to be "initiated" into being a vampire.
I've never seen anyone play oblivion and have so few health potions. I always have like 50 on me at any time when going into a tough fight, i poison my enchanted weapons, use restoration, conjuration & illusion magic, fortify health and other stuff (but health potions & poisons, especially paralasis ones are essential) Edit: you did use conjuration magic to kill him, and you summoned a flesh atronach? ive never had that spell before, had to look it up on the elder scrolls wiki, will definitly go and get that spell for my charachter.
*TRICK* Get the adoring fan and get him to follow you into the woods , then kill him and sleep to get the dark brotherhood without losing important NPC's
The dragonheart title would be the most esteemed title anyone can get when it comes to Heroes there are only a few dragon hearts in the entire world and they are knights of the Old code just as Bowen is in the movie.
If you do the quest he would haven't fight you. Instead he askes you to kill him. It's a pretty awful because you don't have an epic battle and stuff because he is a half vampire.
poor agronak, after he found out he was the spawn of a blood sucking monsterhe was destroyed, i almost wanted to spare him in the arena where he tells you to kill him
I ruined his life and took his life while he was he was in self pity i showed my nephew and i told him "now witness as a grown man weeps in tears and breaks down as a failure of a man" while i swing at him all my nephew could say "stop it tio stop! He's had enough!" I replied with "no! We must put his miserable worthless life out!!! He is no warrior only a pretender who cared of his birth and his own sense of nobility instead of picking up his own blade and keep making a legend of himself!" I made him hold the controller and made him end him not with a sword not with and axe but with his own bare hands as he watched the light fade from his virtual 3d eyes!!! After that we went and got an ultimate pizza and root beer and i told him this. " A warrior takes advantage of all advantages and all disadvantages it makes him push himself further beyond what he is! Then we busted out laughing and had uncle and nephew elder scrolls ass kicking good time. I was babysitting! ^^
One mod I absolutely love is the "Angry Agronak" mod that allows you to do the quest AND fight him legitimately.

chronic_fleezus but if u turn the difficulty up for the fight (when Grey won’t fight) it is a great way to level skills.
Worst part is that killing him in the arena after the quest counts as a murder, which kinda sucks if you're going for the holy route.

I havent played oblivion but i do like how they have some like chainmail armor and stuff always fascinated with it.

When I fought him, he spawned with elven gear. It was way easier than the yellow champion fight.

One thing that puzzles me is if the Grey Prince didn’t know he was a vampire, how did he go out during the day and not get burned without feeding?

I've never seen anyone play oblivion and have so few health potions. I always have like 50 on me at any time when going into a tough fight, i poison my enchanted weapons, use restoration, conjuration & illusion magic, fortify health and other stuff (but health potions & poisons, especially paralasis ones are essential)
Edit: you did use conjuration magic to kill him, and you summoned a flesh atronach? ive never had that spell before, had to look it up on the elder scrolls wiki, will definitly go and get that spell for my charachter.

If you do the quest he would haven't fight you. Instead he askes you to kill him. It's a pretty awful because you don't have an epic battle and stuff because he is a half vampire.
