man this is way better than videos telling you to restart,unplugg battery, update etc lol found a few errors repeatedly
Don't forget it does that comfortable sound when it shuts off. Sometimes. Mine keeps doing it because the built-in battery is dead and burned out.

I have the exact same event ID 10016 happening on ASUS ROG Zephyrus M15 since it was new in January. I read the Microsoft page for Event ID 10016 and it reads, "These events can be safely ignored because they don't adversely affect functionality and are by design. It's the recommend action for these events."
The problem is it causes regular random restarts and I'm not running hot. It's so random it happens sometimes within a minute of starting or maybe 8 or 12 hours since it's been on. This event does dramatically effect functionality for it's unnecessary interruptions.
What's going on with this very same one you show in the video that is also my error for there's no workaround on offer?
The one I showed in the video is not an error. Its just a normal warning as there were no errors on my computer that were causing a restart. That event ID you found matched the time your computer restarted? There were no errors at that time?
Yea I'm getting event 12000 to at the times of the restarts. I'm stumped on the one and it came new like this. We don't really get a good warranty as that Geeksquad service plan which was offered for $350 more. Crazy Bestbuy lost my customer loyalty.
@@Worldofourown2024 Try removing shutting the computer down. Remove the battery and power adapter. Press and hold power button for 1 minute. Plug back in the power adapter, leave the battery out and turn on the computer. Try using it like that. Does it still shut down?
Hopefully u reply asap so my laptop was restarting by its self WHEN I was using it then when I updated it the laptop wouldn’t even wait for me to use it no it restarts once the screen opens and I don’t have enough time to even type my password what do I do

When I checked the system of the file explorer of my laptop its same as yours. So that does mean that its not the source of the blue screen?

hey, My asus laptop computer suddenly started making a squealing sound . I used some compressed air and tried to blow out the vents. I didn't notice it till I added windows 10 which may be coincidence. It was windows 7 before. It is most prominent when I close the lid if it is still turned on. Is it defective sound card onboard or dust or driver?

Hello great video. I have a question. My Lenovo laptop randomly shutsdown. The event viewer error shows Event ID 15. The device driver for the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) encountered a non-recoverable error in the TPM hardware, which prevents TPM services (such as data encryption) from being used. If I leave my Zephyrus M16 unattended for, let's say, hours or overnight, I find it in BIOS screen. Never happened with me working on it. Any clues? WIN11 home 64, nothing attached, RAID 0 with pretty similar 1TB ssd (Micron M450). Upgraded RAM with 32Gb more (one stick). The only unusual thing I can mention was this Micron nvme working around 60°C. Thank You!

For me I have a weird issue where the laptop screen shuts off while am working on laptops, only the screen the rest of the laptop is fine, and still going. Monitor wont come back doesn't matter what you press though only comes back after restart, or if I plug in external monitor! What could it be?
Why would you handicap your cpu speed just to have faster RAM? Wouldn't that give you overall slower performance, including reducing the RAM speed as well? CPU > RAM always :P You are better off just putting the RAM speed that works well with your CPU. Thanks for the video though, least it pinpoints most peoples issues with random resets. My issue was a bad RAM slot, the pins were loose. My cheap fix was to just not use that RAM slot, upped the remaining slot with an 8 GB stick instead of the 2 x 4 GB I had. Yep I lose dual channel, but it sure beats having to get a new motherboard or having someone repair those pins.

My ASUS rog restarts frequently. But it wont automatically restart while i am using, it only restarts when i am not using, when the laptop is idle but power on. Also when I keep my laptop by close my laptop without shutdown for some time. The main problem is the work that i did, would be lost when I'm not using the computer and it restarts itslef.

Chrome is much different than Windows. Its more simple and there are fewer troubleshooting options. Is the battery reading a good charge when the computer turns off?
@@PC_Monkey yeah it does but the thing is that it won't restart itself while on the charger. But my battery is fine because even when it restarts a couple of times while I'm using it, my Chromebook lasts like 6 hours.

Can you first make sure your computer is fully updated as seen here: ruclips.net/video/kX8bB725Ljw/видео.html. After that, make sure Zoom or whatever else your using is fully updated. If that still happens, and if its the only time it happens, you may want to contact Zoom support as its most likely with them and not you. Also, does your computer meet Zoom's recommended system specs? support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362023-Zoom-system-requirements-Windows-macOS-Linux

My pc has some serious issues it suddenly turns off randomy and while turning off the screen crashes and i see random lines and then i see a blue screen and does not turn on until the next morning

If Windows won't install correctly, then we know that the Hard Drive is bad. Replace it as seen here;
Then, install Windows onto the new one.

I'm stumped on this one I've got. It's an X550ZA from a few years back running Win7 64bit. It shut down twice yesterday when running that Windows "disk cleanup" that deletes temp files, and has done it at random times since I've had it, but I can run CPU stress tests and stuff which loads the processor and gets the fan running full speed and it just plows right through, so it doesn't appear to be workload/heat related, but I don't think it ever does it while idle either. It's typically running on AC power. The system logs show nothing significant from several minutes leading up to the shutdown, and will simply have the generic 6008 "unexpected shutdown" error from after I turn it back on.
My nephew gave it to me as it was doing that to him too, but I think he was running Win8 or something. When I got it, I put in a new SSD, disassembled and cleaned the insides, applied new thermal paste, and installed Win7, along with whatever the most current drivers and BIOS were, so I doubt it would have any of the same software issues he might have had. I had seen others online with shutdown issues on this model, and got hopeful when I noticed a newer BIOS from 2019 (several years after the previous one), but it unfortunately still does it.
Sorry for all the text, but is there anything left to try? I'm not sure I swapped or moved the RAM around, or ran it with the battery disconnected, so I may try those next. -and thanks for the video!
So you dont notice the computer getting overly hot? Also, what is the battery percentage when the computer turns off? Does it happen if you remove the battery and only use the computer with the power cord plugged in?
@@PC_Monkey Hi PC Monkey- I don't believe the heat is doing it. I can get it really hot and not have it crash, and it's not usually doing anything terribly heavy when it does. I hadn't checked to see what level the battery was at when it did it, but I'm guessing pretty full, as it's usually on AC power. I coincidentally removed the battery yesterday to check, and have been running it since then with no crash, so that looks like a good possibility (knock on wood). I do remember getting him a generic replacement battery, and I'm not sure if he had the problem with the original. I'm hoping if this is all it is that it's not the power circuitry on the board itself and I can just grab another battery. I'll post back if it crashes with no battery. -Much Thanks!
@@jidissafi7413 If the computer gets really hot when its not really doing anything then your computer is most likely overheating. If its shutting down when its overheating, that means a component has been damaged that much. Just because a computer is not turning off while is overheating means nothing. Components are still being damaged.

The times it has crashed when there was no strain on it were probably not times where it heated up much. -Thanks Again!

I have an Acer aspire computer that when I start it up in the morning has this loud continuous beep, it sounds more like an alarm so the only way I can get it to stop is to hold the F2 key for a few seconds then release it, after a few seconds the sound stops and it works fine until the next day, but if I don't shut it down just put it to sleep than no sounds, it started right after I cleaned the top of the keyboard, so I don't know if I pushed on a key for an alarm.

have an 10 year old acer aspire laptop, it is running well despite its age but.. one thing keep bugging me are quite a few things on power button. 1 , after shutdown the power button still lighted and wasnt like before. 2, sometime fail to power on after pressing and had to randomly press other keys or keep pressing the power button.. a bit of a hit and miss that will eventually on. 3. Cant restart ... have to pull the power jack and plug again ( my unit no longer runs on battery ..AC full time), it kind of not working any on restart... i did not use win 10 and dont see the need to do so.. still win 7. Any ideas , Guru?

My laptop restarts itself while I'm using it, and when it turns back on, the wifi adapter stops working, (I don't see any wifi networks) and to fix it I'm forced to manually restart my laptop. Sometimes, it would restart and the wifi adapter would still work, but my mouse wouldn't pop up anymore and I'd be forced to use my keyboard to navigate. Any help? I don't wanna pay 600$ to find out that it was an easy fix.

When you computer turns off, is the computer getting hot? Is the battery meter all the way to 0%?

First off, Thank you for posting this I have an Ausus Gaming computer and it is shutting down at the most inconvenient times. The error shows Event 41 Critical but I am unsure the steps to fix it. I am just not computer literate enough. Can you walk me thru what I need to next? Also laptop is less than one year old.
Does the computer overheat before shutdown? Also, does it freeze for a second or two before shutdown?
@@PC_Monkey I did not think it was over heating the lid was not very warm. The shut down is immediately visually but the actual system shutting down is longer, because the chill pad is running for about 30 seconds. I do see the screen shrink and shudder, but not stop on different occasions.
@@charlesmathis9882 The lid usually does not get hot as the only thing in it is the LCD :). That does not heat up too much. The body of the computer under the keyboard is what usually gets hot. I dont fully understand the rest of your comment. If your computer shuts down during use, were you able to find an error as seen here?
I have an expensive top Asus Rog Strix TUF gaming with an RTX3070 but i´m having so many problems with this laptop. This restart problem, it just restarts out of the blue for no apparant reason. I had one blue screen of death besides the restart problem. And then sometimes the keyboard stops working, i can´t type. The battery life is really really bad, even when in battery saving mode. It overheats even in standard mode. The laptop looks nice and the specs seem to be good, i might have a faulty unit but this is really really poor.
An overheating computer can be damaging multiple different components if not resolved. First, make sure that the fan and vents are clean and clear. If you need help accessing the fan, let me know what brand and model computer you have and I can help you get inside it. If that does not fix the overheating issue, then try replacing the thermal paste on the CPU and if needed, the GPU as seen here; ruclips.net/video/K_j4GPjpawk/видео.html. If that fails too, replace the CPU

When does it restart? During startup or while your using it? If during startup, before or after the startup logo screen?

1.open control panel
2.find troubleshooting
3.then search for system and security open it
4.after that again open power or improve power usage
Click on next and complete the troubleshoot

My brand new asus a320m-r keeps restarting about 1 or 2 mins after the home screen comes on ,I've tried doing what he says but it restarts about halfway through doing what he says ,how do i sort it out if its not on long enough to fix it
Try removing the battery and just running off the power adapter. Does the problem continue? Also, is your computer still under warranty?
Asus 580G shuts off when going into sunlight. Has anyone heard of anything like this?
I’ve updated drivers, bios. Event log doesn’t show anything related. Only clue is screen flashes plugged in, unplugged then dies when walking outside into sunlight.
I’m thinking it’s a ACPI driver or something.

Hi, am using Asus Sonic Master laptop and my OS is Windows 10. When ever the battery gets low and charger is plugged in, after sometime the laptop will restart automatically, sometimes it will shutdown, and sometimes it will charge perfectly normal. Same thing happens once laptop get fully charged. During this restart time, sometime the battery charging indicator LED will either blink continuously, or will turn from red to white and then these mess happens. Am totally fed up this. Ive followed your video and got me the error codes. Tried all the fix links i could find... but still same problems. If i launch a game.. will play fine.. then boom reboot no warning. @PC Monkey multiple different games. new Asus ROG Zephyrus Due 16 (64gb Ram, AMD 7600 cpu, Nvidia 3080Ti GPU).
Its only few months old. Not much been installed on it yet. STAR craft 2. World of Tanks. COD 4, Halo and couple of flight sims. Had no damages or spills. Done this random reboot since i got it.. like i said it can work great with no problems for weeks... then randomly it will just keep rebooting.. no warning.. no blue screen.. no messages. Ive heard of few issues with the AMD software and Armoury Creat. And also problems with the Nvidia 3080 cards.
I try to monitor my CPU abd GPU temps, power consumption and loading.
Laptop is on a cooling mat with good air flow.. and normally have Air Con on as well. Temp can spike time to time.. but thats not when its rebooting.
@@agile-heliuk1801 I would consider a warranty repair or return if you cant find the issue. That young a computer should def not be temp spiking and rebooting like that :(

What if my pc is in use and it just shuts down, but doesn’t turn back on?

i have purchased an old toshiba satelite laptop, its just keep on turning off,so i dismantled it clean the vents and re apply thermal paste, it prolonged the turning off sequence.i try to boot with hirens boot xp,and it wont turn off, but everytime i try to reformat it,after the 2 to 3 mins loading,when microsoft kogo pops out,then it turns off and reboot until 8t becme a cycle

For a computer that wont turn off, press and hold the power button for up to a minute to turn the computer off. If that fails, remove the battery and unplug the power adapter to force a shut down. What happens after that, when you try to turn the computer on?
Thanku sir for this video clip but the main problem is not that my computer shuts down suddenly because its main problem in about showing wrong battery percentage and shuts down because exactly it's battery is draining like before but not showing correct remaining percentage.and I bought this laptop 9 months before it's battery condition is still in good condition 🙄🙄😭😭

@@PC_Monkey sir today I removed my battery from laptop and pressed its power on button for 4 or 5 minutes it shows buffering of red light but I didn't plugged in the charger so it means that my charger is faulted or my battery is damaged

Try removing the battery. Does the computer still turn off when running on just the charger cord?

Hi.. I have an Asus monitor and the monitor , ( not the whole pc ) , Keeps turning off and on randomly , it turns off for say like 3 seconds then goes back to normal , its a brand new monitor and a brand new pc
So first, we need to see if its the computer that cutting the signal or if its the monitor thats malfunctioning. Do you have another monitor to test the computer with? Does the problem continue on another monitor?

I dont understand your comment. When is your computer shutting down? During startup or while in use / after windows has fully loaded?
@@PC_Monkey at first it was during a crash when fully in use, the right after when i was bios and now it's just at random times & also started to reboot at random times instead only crashing :)
Ryzen 5 CPU overheats very quickly. Not sufficient cooling. Causing it to shut down as soon as it hits a certain temperature. This sucks Cuz I live in a hot climate.

Hello, I have a HP stream cloudbook 11 which intermittently / randomly shuts off without warning. The longest it stays on for is around 5 mins, and shortest is a few seconds. However, there was a period when it stayed on long enough for windows 10 to install and seemed to work okay for a while. The laptop does not have a fan and it shuts down even when the laptop is cold. the laptop shuts down even when in bios. I have tried the following but the problem persists:
1. checked the heat sink and applied a fresh thermal pad
2. Disconnected keyboard, trackpad, screen, WiFi card, etc
Any idea where on the motherboard the fault could be? Thanks in advance

I have a chrome book Asus laptop and it keeps restarting. Is there a way to check what's causing it? I tried what the video said but that's for a PC so I can't use that.
When does it restart? While your using it and its working normally or during startup?

I reset my computer now it’s stuck on 64% also it keeps restarting after showing 64% do not turn off this could take a while
