We take a look at the new Ruger/Magpul RXM 9mm pistol.
I envision Magpul coming out with all sorts of cool accessories for the chassis system
The Glock store has a detailed video of how to dissemble and reassemble the rxm .
Gun deals showing as low as $337, great deal.
Be cautious using Gun deals like that. Often times the lowest prices are from sites that may or may not deliver you a product. Always do your research on who you are buying from.
@@Osprey1994Yeah, most times they also hide shipping and other fees on the deals listing, making you waste time.
@ True, but if it’s a long standing gun store website, I’ve heard of. It works great, you buy online & they ship to your local FFL to pickup. I’ve done this several times, no issues at all. Plus using a credit card gives you a little insurance as well.
After fees thats over 437
@ Well, don’t buy it. Gun desks often gets me to a good price on the exact gun I want. If my local shop is too high.
This is the product Glock needed to build which would have won them the military contract over sig. While Glock is stuck in the box other companies are making better Glocks.
They didn’t even include an optics cut for mhs trial. Hilarious
No it wouldn’t have. Sig won the contract because of price alone meaning Glock would not have won. Glock met the modularity requirement by having backstraps. The contract wasn’t for a removable FCU. Sig met the modularity requirements by having different grip module sizes. It has nothing to do with the FCU and honestly a regular Glock would have been better for maintenance because there are so few parts compared to the 320 FCU.
I do agree that this is a better Glock though and as someone who’s shot many thousands of rounds through a Glock 19 or 34 I picked one of these up. They’re very good guns, especially for the money. I just hope the aftermarket takes off on the grip modules as the rest is already there. I hope they also release a flux style brace for these. The real reason I bought it as I have so many true Glocks and didn’t need it for carry.
Lmao
There’s a lot of misinformation spread around on the Sig vs Glock contract
I think Sig should have concentrated more on their quality control and engineering than securing a military contract
that military contract will expire but the shit stain on their name is eternal
@johnviera3884 there wasn't a problem with the manual safety models like the military versions. The drop safe issue was on the no safety model released for the civilian market.
If they just renamed the m17/18 for the civilian market there wouldn't of been a issue and the p320 would have been the best selling duty gun since.
Bought 2 of them. I really like the feel of it and have been very happy with it. The trigger feels better than my G17 gen 5. I see Magpul just dropped the standard frame in 4 colors now but I really want a 19X grip length.
The RXM trigger is just a Gen3 Glock trigger with a more comfortable shoe. How do you reckon it feels better than a Gen5 Glock trigger? I've never heard anyone say they prefer a Gen3 Glock trigger over a Gen5. I hope they come out with the standard-length grip sooner rather than later because the compact grip that comes with them disappointed me after I put some rounds through it.
@JR15A2 more comfortable is the key word there. I didn't have to spend more money on it unlike most my glocks. RXM is a good all-around gun and cheap enough to toss in a car console as a backup and forget about it until shtf. That is what I got two of them for.
If the Gen3 is to become the AR of pistols, the RXM is the pistol that seems most likely to accelerate that.
And it's probably going to be available in California soon. The Ruger LCP was recently added to the roster. The RXM already has an LCI, so the only other requirement would be a mag disconnect. California would be an enormous market for the RXM for obvious reasons. I plan to get one if it's added!
Yep, I will probably get one. Seems to be a nice pistol.
Many thanks
Sorry people that are hating on a glock clone that works and is compatible with Glock 19 parts and slides are idiots 🙄
Glock haters are a very vocal minority. They always chime in with their opinions whether you want them or not.
Don't worry about them. Just be who you know you are. Last time I checked, the haters don't pay the bills for you, me etc. The people that tell me my gun is crap, I must get this or that, they live in an alternate reality. Guns are like underwear. Everyone wears what they wear, what is best for THEM. Same for socks, all clothing, how you cut your hair, or don't. Life is good.
Ole Gaston Glock reminds me of Henry Ford: Both were entrepreneurs and trailblazers in their respective areas. However, as the years went on, they became resistant to change. Other companies copied their work and improved on it. Consequently, they lost market share.
Gaston isnt and hasnt ran the development in 15+ years
Glock hasn't lost its market share
very cool idea... now they just need to tweet it to the newer generations of glocks!
I've seen some issues start to pop up now that people have put some rounds through them. I'm going to wait for a bit and hope that I avoid any problems.
PS. I've noticed some major inconsistency with the trigger. Some people say rolling break, some people say it has a defined wall. The one I handled had a clear wall.
It's just a Gen3 Glock trigger with a more comfortable shoe. Don't overthink it. Like a Gen3 Glock, some are better than others, and they can be tweaked or replaced with an aftermarket trigger bar/shoe and connector.
What'll be cool with this is all of the grip frames that will be produced at reasonable prices. No one makes a reasonably priced grip frame for the Sig pistols.
This gun goes for about $1200 in California if you can find one off roster.
😂🤣😂🤣
The actual RXM??
That's insane; I wouldn't even consider paying that much.

I like the classic 1940s ones better.
kinda hard to beat the gun, an extra grip for style, a case of 9mm, and tax for under $1000
It’s the gen 6 that glock refuses to make. We all know Glock is not doing shit for the gen 6. Better to support companies that actually want to make a compelling product
Why would they when they already make the most popular pistol on the planet?. Quit crying and whining about it and buy something else if you don't like it. It's not like we don't have more choices than anyone would have ever dreamed possible in years past.
I have a RXM and its a steal for something not a glock but glock reliability. Definitely beats the Glock price too now.
I like that jacket.
Right now they are just over four hundred in my area of Oklahoma. I’m hoping that will change in the near future.
Gun deals showing a shop has them for $337!
@ nice😎
@@chrisb9478From companies that may or may not even have one.
Combines all the best features of the Glock 19, PSA Dagger, and Ruger optic plate stuff... then they added the FCG swap fram system with an EVEN BETTER grip shape and angle than the Dagger, plus with that Magpul EXCELLENCE. Got mine for 355 shipped BRAND NEW
Good review 👍
Good gun, but get your hands on a CSX E-Series. A compact that is truly different than what most companies are rolling out. New trigger and modularity looks great.
Thanks 😊
This is my next with the new mec-gar metal Glock magazines
I wish ppl would post more of that stevens visible loader reproduction
now big question is will ruger allow other companies to make grip parts for their RXM (considering their FCI being a patented part)? or better to go with that open-source gen3 FCU setup?
Its funny to me how people hate the glock so much but make tons of CLONES of the glock. People are IGNORANT and these guns PROVE IT. FACTS
I think the price of this gun will be very appealing. As you said, two reputable names, so there is a warranty there. Yes, the economy sucks currently. Nobody is exempt from inflation. Ruger will sell a lot of these guns. The number one reason I got a Glock when we were able to get them in America was the reliability. Wiz bang features, I do not care. I just want it to operate fine when and if I need it. Fast forward and guess what, now everyone has a clone Glock they make. That is fine too. More choices, more competition for your dollars, you get a cheaper cost. If I needed a gun, I would buy one. Right now, I am concentrating my money towards food, taxes, and utilities.
I wonder how long until rear serrations become obsolete.
I love the video. You should try the Bear creek arsenal grizzly.. I'm curious 😂
Why not detail the red dot mounting options with the pins?
“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” Another GLOCK clone. 🤢👎
I own a M17 and only changed out the grip module to a Wilson Combat don't plan to use a different frame. So this Ruger only innovation to me is using cheap Glock mags.
Yep, and just like it's blood brother, it ejests spent cases all over the place!😊
Glock stuff in my opinion is kinda getting long in the tooth I'd always like getting more guns into hands of first time gun owners and them to be reliable but there's so much around that price point of a glock is better that's what's neat about this but glocks have never fit my hand well in fact I really didn't know any better until I shot a cz or a 1911 or 1911 style gun and realized oh the glock doesn't fit my hand at all
I wonder... if I got very creative with a dremel, maybe one could make magpul's frames take standard glock gen 3 internals...
Want it see a g26 side frame!
It’s a good gun but u also have a 1000$ red dot on a 350$ gun is not what most are going to do
So what can a Glock do that this can’t? Seems like a better version of the exact same thing for cheaper.
Glock has proven reliability, this has no history whatsoever.
Not sure if it's a better version per se. Don't know what materials were used in the Ruger. I'm not a fanboy of any firearm. But what metals are used the process in how the metals are shaped. These things are important. It's the same argument with AR's. They look and shoot the same. But are they equal? No. Because cheaper models use different metals. 6061 aluminum buffer tubes over 7075 aluminum. And 7075 is twice as strong from 6061.
Of course Ruger products are known for having rough edges, but I'm impressed with this. I mean, it's cheaper than the Glock 44... which is a notoriously janky .22 that still doesn't have OEM 15rd mags all these years later. Good stuff.
Isn't your trigger pull test of the RXM pointless, since the lower was not the RXM lower that you tested?
looks like he changed it back before doing that but I did think it strange to do a review on a gun and change half the parts because he liked them bettter especially when the upgrade involved a whole other serialized part.
Am I the only one that thinks 3 magazines minimum should be the standard? I’m not knocking the RMX, but the industry as a whole. We pay a lot for some of these tools
You can buy them
But does it take glock mags?😅
So, taking the comparison further, P80 and Dagger lowers should also work with it, as well.
Using the word "work" for a Dagger is a stretch 😂
No.. .
Why does Trump sound like a lion except when he’s talking to Netanyahu or about Israel?
What does that have to do with the Ruger RXM? Are you lost?
@
It doesn’t I’m venting
I agree but this has nothing to do with guns.
Glock hating has become a fashion statement.
If you live in the north central midwest you could be /Fleet/ and get one for 4 bones, it’s certainly better than /Farming/ your way up to the cost of a Glock 19 MOS which goes for 6.2 bones.

Also does the strike grip except the trigger module?

I wonder if Glocks new trigger will drop into it ??
Does the loaded chamber window cause carbon, etc to accumulate in the lens of the optic??
This was a problem with the M&P pistols. S&W omitted this feature from the newest version.
I'm surprised Ruger included it here
Waiting for the 10mm version.
Still not buying it as long as the ATF exists. I don’t need one that bad. The ATF loves it because it serializes a part that is harder to work around. Glocks will still be the king of illegal activities, unless they steal them. Serial numbers mean nothing to criminals but I’m not getting involved in any of it. Go bug the real criminals and leave me alone! If I need a gun, you’ll deliver it someday.
That new mounting system that Glock has is stupid if you can't adjust the rear sight.
Why would you need to adjust a fixed rear sight on a Glock?
because that is based on gen 3 glock, does that mean its automatically california legal?
❤❤I think this will do really well ,,and if i was given the choice of a gen 3 or 5 glock ,,or this gen3 Ruger=Glock or Rock i would chose the ROCK or RXM ,,,which is probably better than an original gen 3 Glock and cheaper than a new gen 5 Glock ,,,they will sell possibly tons of the RXM's ,good job Ruger and Magpul
If you buy a Hi-Piont for self-defense, you dont value yourself or your loved ones live..
Took a Hi-Point and a Sig to the range. Sear broke in the Sig. Hi-Point fired every time.
I've had a Hi- Point 40mm for years, absolutely NO problems ever, oh and it's not my only fire arm.
Watch the IV8888 Hi Point series from like 15 years ago. They're heavy, ugly, single stack with bad triggers and terrible sights, but they work, and they're indestructible.
Hi point knows what it is , the Sig is pretending to be something else@@rustynail7866
Is the mag release reversible? One reviewer said it is NOT.
It's a Gen3 Glock clone, so no. That didn't come along until Gen4.
new security guard favorite.... affordable.
Can you get it with a thump safety?
Just is ordered me a hell cat pro with Ambi manual safety. Don't think the Ruger has a Manuel safety, most micro sub compacts don't offer the manual safety think the shield plus has a model with manual safety but it's tiny and sucks to accuate.
How is the chamber support? Is it a fully supported chamber?

Is the grip angle more 1911ish than Glock?
A little, but it's closer to a Glock than a 1911.
Don't kno about others, but when I went shopping( w/$$$$$ in hand), and found a GS that allowed me to handle/inspect a RXM, then, when I racked the slide, the magazine RATTLED! RATTLED!!( Like a plastic bucket falling down a flight of stairs) I thanked the GS clerk, laid the RXM DOWN, and walked out( w/$$$$ in pocket), SMH, cursing Rugger/and sayin WTF, Magpole?? A copy of a Glock that sells for cheaper. How innovative.
So only ruger could take a crappy trigger and make it worse than it was. for the price I can get several “ clones” that have much better triggers. I could care less about changing chassis unless a different chassis style is available say a 1911 grip angle or a styer grip angle my two cents
It's a Gen3 Glock trigger with a more comfortable shoe. Otherwise, it's no better or worse and can be tweaked or replaced.
No my gen three glock trigger is better and I hate that one! I felt the trigger today and it really sucks! Sorry call em like I see em the fit and finish of the gun is nice but that’s about it

Compatible with gen 3 barrels I believe.
Does it seem that the market is overflowing with these cookie cutter pistols? Oh the trigger...and the slide is a little different....but at the end of the day....

Sorry guys the Polymer 80 version of this pistol is a superior model. It has all the upgrades you need.
I am sure alot of people may agree with you. If someone wants a fully built gun ready to go out of the box the RXM is the way to. The P80 design has not been reliable for me at all. Others that I have seen in the wild have been consistent. You do you. If it works and you like something personalized, then go for it.
Thanks for sharing your opinion.
Pfff not even, and I don't even really care for ruger
My Ruger RMA, I mean RXM, went back to Ruger due to poor quality control (read: way too loose tolerances)
I'm currently waiting for my refund check, and will be buying a Taurus GX4, or possibly a G3 instead. Ruger's QC has gone AWOL
And their stock market price has also gone down to the poo poo hole.
Mind as well buy a high point if you’re considering a Taurus

Lets be honest, most poeple with glocks modify them. Glock perferction is basically a fallacy. If anything it's the perfect canvas to improve upon... and glocks are notoriously over priced and over hyped for the price point. Sure they have built a reputation of reliability but lets give credit to where credit is due, Ruger has been in business since 1949, and they know what their doing. They literally "invented" the 9mm. They have always been affordable and reliable firearms, but for some unknown reason, most of their weapons are ungodly UGLY. People just equate ugly and affordable with CHEAP. My first gun ever is a Ruger Security 9, and boy, is she ugly... but it's been go-to for range practice, and my daily carry gun for years, its still alive and kicking ass with thousands of rounds through her.
I compare Glocks to Honda civics. Most people customize at least a little bit.
Nothing special 😅
I don't think anything is special and that is the point.
