- I used to love this game long time ago so when it got released in Steam, I decided to buy it and play it through again.
These are actually not truly final bosses of the game if you have completed the requirements for the best ending and Sacred Grounds.
I have never attempted Sacred Grounds before so it should be interesting.
In case you don't know, Cave Story/洞窟物語 is free platform-adventure video game released in 2004 for the PC and later commercially released for various systems.
Game's story is freaking amazing so I'd recommend it to pretty much anyone
The fight against misery has a good atmosphere about it
Yeah, when you think about it. This battle has been anticipated since the very beginning, the game made you THINK you would take on Misery before this point but then suddenly you had to fight another monster.
Misery has been making your journey hell since the very beginning, and now you can finally face her.
Was it really necessary to have 4 BOSSES in a row with no save or heal? I'll never beat this.
Misery is predictable, and the doctor is easy in both forms. The only part I SOMEWHAT struggle with is the Undead Core. However, it's NOTHING compared to the Sacred Grounds/Blood Stained Sanctuary/Hell's 5 boss run. Not to mention the, well, hellish stage you have to put up with. Have fun with the best ending, bitch.
Dylan Carrier Lol, I was finally able to beat it with the spur gun but I had to start all over again.
You should go back and get a life pot. You'll need it.

Also, you can talk to Chaco twice to make a bunch of hearts appear after beating the doctor. Chaco is the purple Mimiga, to clarify.

Man between this and Hell + Ballos, the spike in difficulty at the end of the game is ridiculous, I still haven't beaten Ballos.
Ballos on easy is insane... Went through normal intending to go to hell but messed up somewherre with the requirements so settled on only getting the normal ending on normal.... but even on easy, hell is as hard as anything dificult in normal

This fight is quite tough without the polar star. I got stuck here at the final step on the Cave Story PC, then on 3DSXL and I thought again on switch. But I finally completed this today on my Switch. Woohoo!!!

If you are having problems even with spur, here are a couple of tips.
Misery launches her three black spheres that travel horizontally, then uses one of two attacks (boulder or targeted spheres) after a delay. Almost everything she tosses at you can be avoided by moving horizontally. So, simply wait for her to attack (while charging your spur), dodge, and beam her right after, rinse and repeat.
Doctor’s spiral spheres can be avoided by boosting up easily. So wait for him to appear (again, charging your spur), beam him, then boost up. The only thing you need to watch for is his bullet hell attack, if he does that then just focus on dodging without attacking.
Hulking-out doctor dashes the same distance, so just fly over him and hit him with max charge spur. The only really dangerous attack he has is the bat swarm; bust our bubbline for that and use it to fly around and disperse the bats, then return to focusing the doc.
When fighting the core, focus Sue, then Misery, then Core. Misery summons critters that drop a crazy amount of hearts, so you can equip the blade and face-tank as you take out Sue, then Misery. Once they are gone, the core is once again easily dispatched with spur. Just watch out for an obviously telegraphed sphere attack (unlike the first core fight, these spheres only fly straight) and focus on dodging+spur charge.

What the hell? The rest of the game wasn't all that hard. I'm not sure I can finish this last gauntlet.

If is implied that Misery was the one who turned Sue into a mimiga, how did she not recognize her when she and the Balrog went looking for her at the beginning of the game?

Pixel has great design I wonder if Phish got his idea for FEZ from this? Had to get this looks fun makes me want FEZ also
Dude I fucking love this game and how challenging it is, but for new players, this is just fucking cruel lmfao. My first time playing this part was awful, and that was before even knowing how to get the true ending. However this is still my favorite indie game of all time

The Doctor would make for a good Touhou boss, he uses Danmakufu.

where did that beam weapons come from? And where did u get the power to recharge your lvs?!?
+doomlilith That's the Spur. You need to keep the Polar Star (your original weapon) until you get the Booster 2.0, then you go to the first cave again (where you started the game above the Mimiga Village), and the Hermit will trade you the Spur for your Polar Star. It works differently than other weapons : you have to charge it by holding the button, and then when it's fully charged release it and you'll have the beam. Thus you don't need to have weapon crystals to power it up.
Its a good thing that in ppsspp youhave save states😅😅😅

I managed to beat Misery, Doctor, and Undead Core twice without issues. But I have yet to get throught the last cave without cehats, am I stupid?

The red Demon is actually rather predictable. The hard part is no-hitting him for the medal.

So, the crown is...just destroyed forever?
The Demon Crown CAN be destroyed. However, it will always remake itself again for another being to possess. The Demon Crown can be destroyed permanently when you kill Ballos in the best ending. Ballos is the creator of the Demon Crown, his magic is so powerful that no matter how many times you destroy the Demon Crown, it will always fix itself as long as Ballos lives. So No Ballos = No Demon Crown = No more Doctors = Best Ending.
I've started calling the Doctor "Dr. Edmund Vull." Get it? "E. Vull?" "Evil?" Ha! I'm a genius!
Coincidentally, Dr. Evil is the name of the bad guy from Austin Powers. So there's an unintentional reference for ya.

So here is the thing.. I was playing through this game but never got the machine gun, I got the snake instead I also have the sword but you don’t have the sword or snake, rather two other weapons and the fireball... explain please
they have the spur and the nemesis!
spur is gotten through going back to the hermit gunsmith and giving him back the polar star (which can only be done if you never traded your polar star to curly for the machine gun). the hermit upgrades it for you and gives it back to you as the spur, which is one of the most powerful weapons in the game.
the second weapon is the nemesis, which is given to you by the little family on the outer wall. you have to go on a fetch quest to find the husband of the house, who can be found wandering around the cemetery in mimiga village

@@Obi-WanGaming ah, you're welcome!! if you're at the final boss rush then, yes, you can still get the spur! ( though you'd have to go back through the final cave, which would kinda suck :( ) it's your decision on whether it's worth it !! you don't even have to level it, which is a huge bonus, as you hold the shoot button to charge attacks instead. :)

Derpy SquaredFox the gun is called the spur and you get it by passing the water way then get the booster 2.0 and equip it and go to the first cave and talk to the hermit gunsmith
@@juanmarquez3751 you dont need the booster 2.0 for it, you just need to keep your polar star until you reach the mimiga village again and fly up to the first cave. Even the basic booster can help you fly there.
