I can't love this podcast enough. Told my mom when the first ep. of the new season came out, she didn't get why I was so excited. I had an unforgettable experience listening to the near 6 hour finale of the first season, I love everything you all do. I hope to see all of your content, you all are on par with, if not far better than, most podcasters/animators. Keep doing what you all do best!
27:00 that reminds me of Bayonetta, I remember people on Tumblr HATED her design. even though she was designed by a woman. not only that, her sexiness was meant to make her a Japanese feminist icon. as in Japanese society. women are seen to be better if they are "pure" and "untainted" and any woman who has had sex or is remotely "sexy" in any way are considered dirty and disgusting and are often demonized by society!
>demonized by society Dumbest thing I've ever heard lmao. Forgetting about literal decades of video game and anime characters that do the same thing. Bayonetta was nothing new and wouldn't have changed anyone's minds.
I think you’re wrong about there being a big thing about Bayo - the lgbts LOVE her. The only critique I’ve ever heard among the progressive nerds is her being a horny character (as in, she likes to be dirty and kinky), whereas the guy who created her didn’t make any horny male character, which kinda sucks since it’s unfair.
I adore how in touch you guys are with like touchy topics that people get riled up over. You guys are great to listen to too when I'm stressed out doing paper work. keep up the great work 🐸🐒
I'm quite happy that you guys are making these episodes shorter. I got a lot of stuff to watch on youtube, and I can appreciate that you guys aren't taking this to the 2 hour mark like you usually do.
+Con Bonison Listen to the guy who said that a woman who doesn't shave her armpits is a pompous feminist. Holy fuck dude, some people don't shave because they're lazy as shit. Don't date girls who cut their own vagina's open if they see one hair on a guy's chin.
What's even funnier is Karl has told both the birds dropping turtles story and the monkey prostitute story and Niall told them both almost back to back
I'm gonna have to try Zach's work & relaxation methods. Whenever I animate, I really don't bother changing into any form of work attire, so I don't get the satisfaction of the "taking off your shoes after work" feeling anymore. And a cigar with a glass of brandy or whiskey feels like a pretty worthwhile way to celebrate finishing a project; I'll keep that in mind
"There's always a risk with great reform movements, we start with good intentions, we turn those into a set of informal laws & then they become dogma. Revolutions have a way of getting out of hand, what starts as a march of liberation can end with thought control & worse." - Trevor Philips
Hahahahaha man this podcast reminds me of this line I used. Okay, first of all you should know I had leukaemia, a type of cancer. I was with my friends (they knew I had cancer) and they were complaining about little things somewhat similar to complaining about Linkel. And I had the best line ever; "I didn't survive cancer for this". They laughed and one of them did realise that they were complaining about something so stupid while there were idk, kids starving in Africa? It felt pretty good to make them realise that they were complaining about stuff that didn't matter.
Wow guys, I usually dont give you compliments, but this one was maybe one of the best podcast you done. There was no philosophy fails, you guys were not unnecessary dickish, and during whole episode I almost chocked from laughing at least 10 times. Kudos.
Years late but another fact about the JFK mafia thing: Frank Sinatra and JFK were meant to meet and Frank had prepared a room for President Kennedy. Kennedy then walked back on it in order to keep rumours of having mob ties at bay (Frank was more than likely to be tied up with the mob). Frank lost his shit and destroyed the room and a portrait of JFK. Evidently Frank Sinatra was notorious for having a very short temper.
Most amazing point about that Crow thing Zach was talking about is that lasts up to 5 years & they will actually communicate to others that individual human is dangerous. 5 years of memory recognition alone is itself amazing for a bird. But specifically identifying the individual human being & communicating that complex information to other crows that have never seen you for themselves is next level..
27:30 It's funny, Zach, because not only do they not actually want anything, they would almost certainly go back and complain that it wasn't done sooner. You see them bully devs to change or add something and when they do say it's not enough and to do more, but even when they do _that_ they complain that it wasn't done sooner. There really is no winning for loosing there. You either get bullied by them and ignore them best you can or get bullied, do what they want, but still get harassed.
In Italy you're forced to write in cursive, if you write in all caps teachers not only reprimand you about it but they might also refuse to correct your Essay (resulting in the minimum grade)
A great cigar to start with is a Perdomo Champagne 10th Anniversary it had a great profile and retails at about $10 here in my state. That dog is Hatchi. There's a movie about him (Americanized) and a statue dedicated to him at Shibuya crossing in Tokyo by the station where he waited.
I have a friend in New York who's rather well-off, and he quite enjoys his cigars. I had a few gas station cigars but nothing super fancy, and one day, he says "Dude, I'm sending you a box of some nice cigars. Let me know which ones you liked." So I get this box of cigars about a week later, and I smoked them all, and it's fucking RUINED me for cigars, I can't smoke a cigar that costs less than like $10 each now, FUCK. Now I'm all about that La Aurora and Illusione life.
This will probably cost a shit ton of money to do but you guys should kiss tom on the cheek so you and behemoth studios could make an official sleepy cast studios game with all your ideas instead of the usual animated flash games. I would pay 60+ dollars for that.
as much as i like these podcasts, occasionally, an episode like this will come out, and ill feel conflicted about how i see these guys nothing is wrong with expressing an opinion, and im glad that this podcast gives insight to how they actually feel about real world issues, it just gets awkward sometimes
Regarding what they were saying about schools teaching children cursive writing (Or handwriting, if you will), I wanna say it depends on the place (Country, continent, etc.). I mean, in Canada, I learned cursive writing in the second grade, and it's all I've ever used for writing from that point onward. Mind you, that was more than a decade ago, so things could have possibly changed. My older brother had learned it a couple years before I did, and my younger brother a couple years after I did, though his session was rather brief. I myself haven't heard if schools anywhere else in Canada still teach their students about cursive writing, let alone anywhere else in the world. To me it seems to be going the way of the Dodo. It's becoming like that of a dead language. Quite frankly, I enjoy it. I find it to be considerably faster than printing as your utensil doesn't leave the paper as often. However, like Zach said, it can be hard to read, to the point where you have to take a literal minute to read a short sentence. Printing can be the same way, difficult to read. :P But hey, what's the possibility of the art of cursive writing coming back into style, and how long would the revival take?
The Pavlov Effect is association. Food is given when bell is rung. Dogs salivate for food. Rinse and repeat. When bell is rung, the dogs salivate. Pigeon Superstition Effect occurs when a reward is given at a random time and the subject associates a random action it then believes it must exhibit in order for the reward to be received. For example, if tapping on the top of your computer "made it work" after it failed to turn on, you may be conditioned to tap on the top of your computer; you may be experiencing the Pigeon Superstition Effect. I'm like 99% sure I'm right here. Enough autism for one day.
I didn't know that Chinese whispers was called something else in America Also, do Americans really not write in cursive? That's writing 101 in school. I'm with Niall, I've been taught to write in cursive instinctively. I'm learning so much about your ways!
So if a person thinks about sex with kids would never do it and tries to get help for it he should still be outcast from society? I feel like in that scenario it's unfair. There are people with schizophrenia who think about murdering their family they can't help it and get help for it. Should they be shunned as well or should we support them in getting help because they have a broken mind and need help? Just wanted to give you the perspective of these people not supporting them in any way.
The thoughts shouldn't be acceptable, that's why they need help. It should never come to a place where it's alright to have think about that. I might feel sympathy for them, and I'll support them for getting help if they do, but I won't pretend like that aspect about them isn't wrong/something that needs to be fixed, ya know?
