Those koi should have names. I suggest Freckles, Freckles Jr., Big Freckles, Little Freckles, Freckles II, Sir Freckles, Dame Freckles, Sir Freckles-a-lot, Frecklelicious, Frecklebilly, Freaky Freckles, and Bob.

just an idea to try and keep the net out of the water..... (what was going through my head as you were saying the last net sank and was heavy)... wonder if putting a sealed empty barrel in the center of the pond and then scattering empty jugs, pool noodles or other floating items around and then put the net? obviously, the net would still sag in between the floating things but still help keep it up.

For a tank that size a group of 10 silver flying fox fish will destroy the beard algae. Not the regular flying fox! Give them a month with that amount.
They’re awesome fish too, from the carp family. Lovely scale pattern.
Well thank you we did try flying foxes but just 2 and I never heard of silver flying fox's. I'll check it out thanks

oowee that's a lot of black hair algae you got in your 150. Man I hate that stuff... but not as much as I hate staghorn algae. They say american flagfish and chinese algae eaters are good for it, but you guys have a whole forest of it in there practically.

Wow. There are more koi in the temporary tub than are in Tracy’s pond. Throw some more in there.
Actually not true. The bottom of the Tracy pond is covered in about 18" of some plant. We need to get it out but need to drain. Will do it same time as the renovation. On schedule for April. So many of them hide in the plants and behind the rocks.
We will however add the nicest koi into there 😀
We only add the best ones in there that we would like to breed. It's due to be drained and remove all the ones we want to rehome as well !
