Yea I agree with all the positive comments. As someone who is not only fairly new to tattooing, but the procreate software as well, I found this video extremely helpful and very informative.
This video is unvaluable, thank you sooooo much.. I really haven't seen anyone before, who could explain things the way you do.. You're an expert, and you know very well what you're doing..
I've designed a few tattoos and starting to focus on that for my channel with no programs only simple picture references but still using layer techniques. I admire artists such as yourself. Awesome demonstration bro.
Thanks for all this information. I’ve had my iPad and Apple Pencil for a while now and mainly got it to use procreate but I’m not that good with it. This is a big help as I want to use it to make my tattoo designs. The video itself is also nice and professional, nice job man!
Just wanted to comment on your method of delivering your tutorial, Ive seen many tutorials online and your's fits of the few i will remember. An exceptional level of explanation with reasons but also not overly detailed where the viewer will get lost. To put it simply, if you ever given up being a tattoo artist, instructional tutorials is what you should be doing. Very very well done, Sir.
This was a big help, starting to tattoo myself and I’ve been the only one really teaching myself. Just bought everything so I could download this app to help with the tattooing process.
Certainly hydrated for the Procreate design! Another good and informative video that a lot of apprentices or new-comers to procreate would really really find useful!!! Great work!
This was the best tutorial video ever I have seen all over the social media, very clear and well explained, I hope you gain millions of pounds because of this video because you really deserve it mate, thanks
One of the best educational videos I've seen so far, practical and straight to the point. Just one simple question and excuse my ignorance, after erasing some of the details and at the end of the project, in case I want to undo some of the erasing and show a part of the details again, what do I do to achieve that? thanks
Thank you sooo much for this tutorial! This was so easy to understand and fun to follow along to and got me really excited to create my own designs :) Can you please do more of these? Maybe one where you add in drawn details and how to go about that or how these pieces come to life when you actually tattoo them.
The thing I’m trying to figure out is, if you already have the design drawn up how do you get rid of the background to use on your template? Like for example the rose is just the rose no background
Adam this video is awesome. I learned a lot. Can you make a video of how you would actually turn this piece into a stencil or make it stencil ready to be printed out.
Thanks for all the great content, watching your videos has taught me a lot. I was wondering whether you could explain in more detail about how to design a sleeve whether it’s an arm, a leg or whatever. How you approach designing one cohesive piece on a flat service such as the iPad or paper, so that you can ensure the aesthetics of the piece and how it wraps and ties in with itself... I hope that makes sense to you, it did in my head haha! Thanks for the great videos again. Much love bro ❤️
It did bro,I’ve been tattooing for years,I believe my work is solid, but I struggle with realism portraits ,particularly animals, tigers, lions and the likes, any tips for me bro,or can I pick your brains via email?
@@athomastattoo mate please reply, i commented on another vid ages but no response. How do you change the colours of an image on procreate? Say for example turn your black and grey image into blue, red and green? I have a image that has to much solid black that i want to turn into grey but the saturation/curves does nothing to the black?
Great idea with the forearm template!! I know you said the A4 was about the size of the forearm, chest or thigh. Do you have advice/hacks for sizing other areas such as fingers, shoulders, feet? Thanks man. Very, very nice piece😍
As a new tattoo artist I purchased an iPad and procreate to help me create and design pieces for my clients. I either take my own photos or pull pictures from ig, Pinterest, etc. In the beginning of the video I noticed how you pick and pulled the rose and leaves into the layers and laid em out onto the scale without any square background or surrounding covering the portrait.. My question is, how did you get pictures thrown in without a square background or the extra surroundings. Is there another step or trick that procreate can help with that? Is there another editing program involved, or was it purchased elsewhere designed for tattoos?
So not a tattooer but more of a digital artist here. You're going to want to find images with transparent backgrounds. A common file type for such images are PNGs thought it may not always be the case. You can also cutout backgrounds with a picture editing software such as Photoshop and save without the background
At last! Thanks for bringing this to my attention...now I don't have to sketch my ideas just build layers and add fillers later. I'm planning out my sleeves and this tool is invaluable!
bro I keep finding more and more things on procreate, its like a never ending box of tricks, every time I make a vid I'm like "I could of done that so much better" ill put the drag colour in the next tutorial though (Y)
i can walk in with my ideas, the images and style of tattoo but the time it takes to get on the same wave length with the artist is a little frustrating. especially if you're trying to combine parts of images. would love to go in with a more concrete plan for the artist. would make life easier on everyone lol
Unsure if you can do this in procreate but if you lower the bit depth of a photo to 3 you'll get 8 distinct shades if you have bit depth 2 you will have 4
Very in depth tutorial. I love how you go through all the basics in a super detailed way!
thanks for the support, there's a few more procreate tutorials on the channel now, be sure to check them out.
15 seconds in already subbed/liked saying to myself, "oh yeah, I already like this guy, he knows what he's doing"
15 seconds in he just finished a water bottle
It was 10 seconds for me
I had the same response 😂 🤣 😅
@@jeremiahsykes1935 one water bottle down and I KNEW I had to sub 🤣
Same. The wiping his mouth off with his elbows did it. 😂

This is by far the best and most complete tutorial I have come across. Thank you so much! It’s going to be so helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Where do you get the templates for the tattoos??
im not a tattoo artist but this helped ma alot to create my kennel logo love how in depth and detailed this was.

thanks for the support buddy.
Where can I get the stuff to make my own tatts I have the app but can’t find nothing
Nothing makes me more interested to watch a video than seeing someone pay too much for water.
This is facts immediate distrust
😂😂😂😅
Maybe it was a refill. Lol
Gotta pay extra for them to take the poison out
Plus i dont want any advice from a broke struggling tattoo artist so for me thats a good sign .. to each their own though

Great tutorial - I was amazed at the difference it made when you added the highlights to the eyes in this piece.
From just watching this I've reached my goal of getting what i needed to know for setting up my designs thank you so much!!!
Unbelievable tutorial! Really well executed 👏🏼

Legend mate sick video will definitely help me with my tattooing 👍
“Downs a whole water bottle”
Weird flex but ok...?
He had to keep cutting it as well lmao
Weird is good sometimes, downing the water was just an ice breaker intro to the video, skilful imo.
plot twist. it was actually vodka
Looks like Russia Knocking down a bottle of Vod.... 🤔
Love the way you drew everything from scratch to make it an original piece that no one else in the world would have.................... 😜
Well, I’m an black and grey realism artist. Pretty much how any realism artist works.
"in essence"
loved the video dude, big help!
Haha. I know! So annoying when I latch onto a word and keep using it. Cheers for the support bro 🤘🏻

Excellent tutorial. Easy and clear instruction . Thankyou for sharing Adam.
This is so cool cuz Im helping my friend design a tattoo. How did you do it so that the design only appears in the arm template?
I’ll be putting a video up soon with a tutorial about how to create body part templates.
You can use reference ,or a more destructive way : alphalock
Helped me decide that I wanted ro use this program! Great work and thanks for the informative video.
Glad that you found it useful. Thanks for the support
QuickTip if you hold your pen tip down on the colour it’ll bring up a target you can use that target to select a colour and copy that colour

Really good explain , Love it!
The A4 tip was great, but as someone who draws everything by hand. How you put that image together has me feeling insulated lol
Whatever gets the job done 🤷♀️
Insulated? I am legit curious if that was what you meant to say? Lol
Awesome video, keep up with the great job man
Cheers buddy
This was super helpful! Do most tattoo artist design a sketch before the client shows up or is it done on the actual appointment date?
deadass thought you were chuggin a bottle of Ciroc before you got artsy😂😂

Hey man thanks for this tutorial I just didn't quite understand the part with the arm template could you please let me know how I could do that. 🥰🙏🏼🙏🏼
so cool, ty
First 12 seconds HILARIOUS 🤣🤣
Interesting using cloud brush instead of drawing in a round edge or continuation of hair
Thank you for a great clip
Did he cut around the rose picture to get it on that white background before the video or does he just find images like that
Big mood that, when you said you were a game designer. Hard same. I feel like I’d probably be better at this than making games. Great tutorial also!
Designing a tattoo and actually applying said tattoo in skin are two totally different leagues
This helped me so much, thank you!!!!!
No problem. Glad you liked it 🤘🏻
How do you make a stencil from this now? Great video!
cool
Ive been wondering what tablet do u perfer dor doing digital art or like for doing art stuff
