All Railroad Crossings on MBTA's Newburyport/Rockport Line

  • A total of 46 crossings on non-private roadways (8 up until the split after Beverly Depot, 21 on the Rockport branch and 17 on the Newburyport branch). We work our way out on the Rockport Line first and then back inbound from the top of the Newburyport Line.
    Towns include Everett, Chelsea, Revere, Beverly, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Gloucester, Rockport, Newbury, Rowley, Ipswich, Hamilton and Wenham.
    This was a long time in the making due to the Gloucester Drawbridge project and other signal and track improvements.

    Awesome video! I absolutely love this line! If you had recorded this in 2010-2015, most of the crossings with modern equipment would still have had the old 8 inch lights and mechanical bells. (For example, dodge st, bay rd, and some others.)

    Awesome video!! I’m from Western New York but I’ve rode on the Rockport train from Gloucester into Boston and back many times. I’ve visited this place many times as a kid so watching this brings back my favorite train memories from my childhood.

      Yeah it was a long time in the making. Needed Keolis to finish the drawbridge in Gloucester and the track and signal upgrades on the rest of the line

      Yeah had to wait for the Gloucester Drawbridge and other track and signal work to open up the full line
