    A couple other things to note. Deluge has also been confirmed to be closed, so that's even more land in the vicinity of T3 that can be developed. Also, the renovation plans for the Expo Center show the grassy areas between T3 and the nearby hotels going to Kentucky Kingdom. It's currently marked for additional parking spaces, but still, that's massive amounts of new space for the park to work with.

    As someone that close to the park. Work 2 mile from the park. Live in Kentucky and know how the KFB screws Kentucky Kingdom, i would recommend them also getting rid of the Amphitheater and make that area a new front gate. That way the park doesn't have to use the damn Fairgrounds for parking, give the locals direction access to Hurricane Bay, the most visited section of the park and maybe get more teenage riding Storm Chaser over Lightning Run since it close to the gate. You close down the old Gate area and place a new Rollercoaster on that side of the park that has 130 feet high restrictions compared to the Vakoma, Storm chaser Thunder run area that at 100 ft. Plus it give Lightning Run a second coaster to enjoy on that side of the road.
    But i do enjoy your choices for coasters other then i would maybe consider Gerstlaue Infinity similiar to Fury. With the choice to ride the Triple launch coaster forward or backwards. Since the park has height requirements, the more Gimmick you can add the more uniqueness you can bring to the park to make it standout over King's Island and Holiday World.

    For the replacement for T3, I think that Kentucky Kingdom needs a Vekoma launch coaster and it would be a perfect to fill up the gap and theme the coaster with a collaboration with Owl City!

    When they announced this I thought they might just have Vekoma retrack it. I didn't realize the amount of land it blocks. I do find it weird that Herschend doesn't have any full sized inverts considering their popularity. Oh what if they went all out and did a next gen themed flying Vekoma? That would be cool!

      More land if you count the old six flags stunt show arena that isn't being used either. its located directly behind where T3 used to be. also sad to admit that today was the last operating day for Ragin Rapids also, it is taking up another huge plot of land next to where T3 was. I work there and we aren't even sure what will be done yet but rest easy knowing that things are being planned

    I actually didn’t mine T3, wasn’t anything special. However I don’t think it was as bad as it was made out to be. I do understand why though, this would hit the chopping block.
    Now with Storm Chaser and Lightning Run in KK line up. With a 3rd potential amazing coaster, this park could really take off in popularity. Will definitely be on my radar for future news.

    I don’t know, but honestly, if they put another coaster, it needs to be a good coaster. I want something that is iconic because we were supposed to get a brand new coaster that nobody had but because of the pandemic and everything we ended up not getting that coaster and I feel like if we get a coaster, it needs to be something nobody else has yet it needs to be a brand new coaster something that’s phenomenal Because that would really bring in the people because people would wanna come try out the brand new coaster and see how it actually is even if they decided to get with a coaster company and custom make a coaster, especially for Kentucky kingdom as like a statement piece for the park, that would be iconic And they do have a lot of space they could use. They also have gotten rid of the water coaster, so that’s even more space they could use. I know that they also have certain height limits that they can go to and not go to because of the airport which really kind of sucks because towards the back part of the park, they can’t go as high, which really does suck but I know that there are areas that they can go higher so they could easily make a pretty big coaster and work with it so that it’s a great size and a great coaster

  • @heather1980
    @heather1980 Год назад +1

    Kentucky Kingdom just got a family coaster, so I think that’s out. I’d love to see a Mack Big Dipper or a Gerstlauer Infinity coaster to anchor this section, but if the water ride adjacent is also closing I could see something much larger being planned. It would be great if Herschend added some of the theming found at SDC and Dollywood to Kentucky.

  • @zacg_
    @zacg_ Год назад +2

    The whole back of the park needs to be refurbished. I doubt Herschend will try and theme the park on the level of SDC or Dollywood but I think they can do a lot to improve the park appearance. I'd love to see some rock work and landscaping along the back all the way to the area around Storm Chaser and give the park a more insulated feel and just make it look nicer. They could put in some nice new park area with a bit of immersion and then put in a Vekoma looper in the place of T3 that fits the new formed terrain.

  • @urbex_coasters
    @urbex_coasters Год назад +1

    Herschend is a lot more family oriented than Ed Heart was. It's a waterpark expansion-the waterpark is much more popular than the dry park with the GP and it's right by the waterpark so it works. If it's a coaster, it's a power splash. Being the "um, ow!" kid from the Coaster Studios SLC parody I'm sad T3 was closed when I visited but they told me it was closed forever during my visit in August.

    Wild Adventures has an SLC, so they could send parts there. they could demolish the stadium and expand the water park on the back left and have a launch over the rapids and boneyard (and put it by Kentucky Flyer instead). I see the paved roads back there as the line-which would mean going to both the city and the fair board to expand beyond the current boneyard

    Yeah im sad that I wasn't about to ride my first Vekoma SLC eventhough I have heard negative things about those types of rides. But i wonder why Kentucky Kingdom KK never announced a official closing so people include the GP General Public Coaster Enthusiasts would have enough time to ride T3 before it permanently closes en gets Demolished. I have 3 speculations to why T3 got shut down without warning.
    1. The ride reached the end of it's Service Life. I know for a fact that Rollercoasters have a certain amount of years that they can stay operating in full compactly until it has to close for safety reasons etc.
    2. The Ride was a Maintenance Nightmare or had technical problems. You guys already see whats going on with Cedar Fair, eventhough Kentucky Kingdom isnt owned by them they are own by Herschend Family Entertainment. But im assuming they are following in Cedar Fair's footsteps by removing rides that are unpopular, are maintenance issue's see what what happened to Knotts Berry Farms Vekoma Boomerang, Volcano at Kings Dominion, Fire Hawk, Vortex at Kings Island. My Hypothesis is that Kentucky Kingdom ran out of technical parts for T3 which would make it harder for the ride to operate en it definitely would be a major hassle to keep T3 running is there is no more parts for it since Vekoma is evolving and enovating their rollercoaster track type and the company as a whole just trying to use common sense. And I believe that Thunderhawk Vekoma SLC at Michigans Adventure a Cedar Fair park will eventually sooner or later will suffer the same fate.
    3. Prime Land. If yall look at google maps you can see that T3 is on a patch of prime land where Kentucky Kingdom can make a good decision business wise remove T3 and replace it with something bigger en better obviously. Im hopefully they replace T3 which newer model of a fun modern day suspended coaster a Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster. Or maybe they should replace the ride with a launch coaster.

  • @SpacePirateK

    One thing you have to keep in mind is that anything that goes into the park has to fit within the current height restrictions, so a launch would be a solid fit for anything that they want to go all out with in regards to inversions. It's kind of bittersweet losing T3, it was my first big coaster as a kid beyond the old Boomerang they had at KK in the 80's and 90's. My last ride on it was in 2019 and yeah, it was not a fun ride but I'll still miss it...sort of.

    Grew up in Louisville, so I went to this park alot. This ride was a lot of fun, it was a nice change of pace from the other rides in the park because your feet dangled. I think that's the main reason why it still popular for park goers aside from the inversions. I agree the red is ugly. Personally, I'd like to see them patch things up with RMC and resume their plans to build a raptor. Since they are not a super huge park, a compact style raptor similar to the proto types would be great for them! Or even a clone of Stunt Pilot. As an Illinoisian, I'm getting frustrated that there are still no signs of Raptors being built anywhere near the MIdwest. I'm starting to think that neither SFSTL nor SFGAM will ever build one, and Adventureland decided to go with a common S&S 4D just because. Not sure if CP or KI will be willing to work with RMC again anytime soon either, but maybe they will go with one of the Intamin versions in the coming years?

    Herschend has *never* added a new thrill coaster to any of their smaller parks, only removed them. Wild Adventures hasn't gotten one in 15+ years of Hershend ownership. Darian Lake never got a coaster during their Hershend management. And Kentucky Kingdom's biggest investment in 2.5 years of ownership is new beach chairs.

    i think they should go with a Mack Stryker. They’ve had positive experiences with the company and it would be a first for America so I believe that would be a good fit. However because of the price tag i don’t think that a extreme spinner would work especially because of the size of the park
    What i’m really thinking is a eurofighter or an infinity but i’m not sure what Herschend thinks of them and a big dipper or stryker are similar. if they went with an infinity i think it should have a lift and a launch but not the layout we’ve seen already on shell raiser and takabisha.
    Maybe also a smaller-medium scale new age vekoma launch coaster. however for some reason i think the others make more sense. something like a space warp might do well, but i don’t think a fire storm or ghostrider or shockwave would fit due to their height and stuff, idk i just don’t think it’d fit well idk why. a bermuda blitz would work too
    for lifted stuff other than big dipper or eurofighter a raptor would work well. it’s not huge, it’s not the star of the park but it’s a really solid coaster to beef up the lineup. basically of my suggestions were something really nice to beef up the lineup
    what i think is most likely though is a family launch coaster like big bear mountain
