Totally does. And there’s definitely some places I don’t and wouldn’t film at. But this place is probably one of the most well known Perch spots in the North East 😂
I enjoyed watching this bro, good quality of perch and most importantly, proving the local's wrong😂 it's not about the spot, it's all about the angler, for example, you could take me there, we could be fishing next to each other and you could catch 10 fish in that session and I could blank😅 just because you go to a spot with good fish doesn't mean you're going to catch. Keep it going brother 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Ah gotta love the locals. "Your magazine article is only thinking about yourself and no one elses fishing", seen 2 new people fishing the stretches and the live in the town. They always think they are onto a secret 😂
I fish the free stretches of that river and what causes certain swims getting hammered is the overall access to anything resembling a fishable peg. That stretch has less than 10 places you can comfortably fish. Pretty much every time I go there I have someone appear through the bushes expecting to have got in there. There are free stretches further up and down the river that have better access and plenty more room to get in, but I rarely see it packed out. And don't get me started of the dog walkers....
Yeah to an extent you’re right, but like I said in the video, I’m still yet to go down and not be able to get on fish 🤷♂️ Plus just because people are fishing there, doesn’t mean they catch them. It’s a pretty unforgiving stretch and can be costly with tackle losses. I think my record earlier in the year was 12 lost sets of gear in a couple of hours. So that puts a lot of people off I think. I’ve fished free stretches all over the country and the same can be said of all of them, the most accessible spots get busy. But doesn’t mean there isn’t somewhere to catch fish if people want to go find them. 🤙🏻🎣
I've fished that very same spot many times over the years and recall it being hammered all summer long before you posted any of your videos on RUclips. As you pointed out there are three or four other spots along that bit of river all of which can produce decent quality perch if you know how to find them. Bye the way I was never as successful as you and Jacob . A couple of perch and the odd pike, so well done you. Great bit of angling.
Exactly bud. It’s hardly the best kept secret of the North East 😂 But hey I guess some people need an excuse for blanking 🤷♂️ Not me mind, I blank far too often to need an excuse for every time 😂
I fished that peg and all the others along there in the summer and caught bugger all lol. Lost loads of tackle though. I had no bother getting a swim. There were only a couple of kids fishing and loads of dog walkers there. The dog walkers were a complete PITA. They allowed there dogs to jump in right next to me! Will give it another go now it's colder. Probably need to get down earlier. When I fished it I got there about 10 am.
Theres a lot of jealous and bitter people mate theres a brook by me we fished it for years 😢now some people have their own swims Had some lad say i was fishing in his swim😂😂😂😂 the nob head was told i no uncertain terms to f off 😂😂😂seen him out fishing a couple of times now explained to him how long we have fished there showed him some pics of decent chub and roach he is actually a decent lad
What you like ruining that swim for all them other fishermen that are still in bed not fishing it early on a Saturday morning😂🤷♂️ I can guarantee they are pissed off because your actually catching and making use of a good peg well they can’t be bothered to get up and get out and put the effort in. Shame on you 😂 great video pal.
Thats what people say when they cant catch themselves . A spot has been ruined . Ever since the dropshotting /lure fishing craze really took hold there really is no secret spots anyway . I hate lure fishing myaeltf but i know its the best way to catch numbers of fish . I just dont enjoy it personally. But with the ease and light style of fishing it means that nearly every stretch of river has been explored regualrly by lure anglers. Its such an accessible style of fishing because you can walk for miles . Try doing that with the barrow 😂😂
Don’t know if I necessarily agree with you that it’s a good way to catch numbers (reckon if I was tip fishing with a lobworm I’d probably catch double the amount). But I certainly see your point. 🤙🏻🎣
@TheIllustratedAngler yeah maybe . On the worm. I guess I have always found once you are worm bait fishing it usually involves more gear . Chair tackle etc . Less moving. With lures just minimal kit and constant move so easier to find the fish I find . Enjoying your vids👍
One was kind enough to leave a highly detailed comment on one of my videos not long ago. Obviously deleted his comment after I replied and he didn’t have an argument anymore. Then more recently one of them started spilling the same rubbish to angler on the bank on a different venue, not realising said angler was a good friend of mine 😂
People wont even name the river generally for fear of the area getting hammered. I can understand it but its sad that its that guarded and that the fishing is that hard.
@@mariuspetraitis9344once you have the name, it only takes a quick Google map to find the exact spot. Defeats the purpose of not naming the spot by telling you the river... It's not a magic river, fish of this size can be found in most rivers, just gotta put the work in to find them.
Your title is wrong my guy!! No1 said you ruined the spot/spots .. the statement was your are blowing the spots up .. the free stretches of that river are already hammered and the banks are abused.. The statement wasn't made to be snotty ..
Firstly, how can you blow up a spot that’s already hammered? Secondly, those exact words of “the spot is ruined” by my videos came out of an anglers mouth when speaking in person to a friend of mine (unknowing that he was my pal). So the title is spot on. And like I’ve said, for a spot that “blown up” and “hammered” it always seems pretty quiet to me 🤷♂️ Maybe I’m just lucky.
He's only gone and ruined it again 😂😂😅
Yup. Totally buggered it 😂
As much as I love watching fishing videos
It does put eyes on certain spots 🤷🏻♂️.
But is what it is
All the best Charlie

Absolutely true!! I’ve also been on the receiving end of those kind of sessions more than once! It happens to us all 😂

Nothing is secret. Especially public stretches of river 😂

Cracking video Charlie....keep out of my spot😂
Thanks for allowing me to fish it 😂
Keep up the great content! I have recently started live baiting for perch and while this one isn’t that style, I love perch fishing!
Give the lures a go bud. It’s a different kind of buzz. 🤙🏻🎣
@ oh! I already do and I do it regularly! I’ve done lure fishing in 4 different countries!
Great fish. Theres a real mix bag of folk out there.
You got that right! 😂
40lb is a good weight for a Perch.. 😉

You’ve wrecked that place now the fish have names 😂

They’re not always there for sure. And yeah you’re right, the public have no clue. 🤙🏻🎣

I think most people are generally easy to get on with when you talk to them in person. Especially if you have fishing in common. 🤙🏻🎣

The early bird catches the… Big Perch??? 🤷♂️😂
@ it does indeed my friend

What method and baits were you using looked like creature
Texas rig. And I think I was using a 4.2” Sixth Sense Prawn. 🤙🏻🎣
You seem to like the texus rig
Yes for sure. Deadly method.
😮 what river you fishing 😊
The one with the big perch in 😂 In all seriousness I don’t name venues (contrary to what the “locals” likely think) 🤙🏻🎣
Not sure but think it’s the tees
