Thank you for the feedback. I use nothing but clean, crushed stone for my base. We call it (Open Graded Base) here. If you want to know more about that method, here is a video I made to explain it better 👉ruclips.net/video/ChaJe3JqD6I/видео.html
I've done that myself and the only thing different, was to cut a slight angle to those perimeter pavers on the inside/outside curves. Takes some time, but looks much cleaner. Good job!
Thank you! I hear what you are saying but I don't do that simply because I think it looks bad when you cut off the beveled edge of the pavers. I think the open joint looks better than saw cut edges of a paver. ✌
Always that one guy that has to put his two cents in when it’s obvious he knows what he’s doing. People like that I’d love to smack. Always a backhanded compliment as well
@@TheChristianHardscaperThere is a way cut the outside row and leave the beveled edge and the outside the corners of the paver where people notice it the most. It works best on brick style pavers. You miter/taper every other paver on both sides. use a temporary paver on the outside as spacer ,looks like a fan when done. I use to get compliments from the home owners and coworkers when I use to do that. On the cobbles Just use only the smaller cobble paver going around curves or if wanted to be perfect grab leftovers from cobble circle kit laying around the shop.
Thank you, the base was properly compacted and the edges were secured with concrete. We also use polymeric sand in the joints of the pavers to lock them together. Just didn't have time to include all that into a 60 second short. Thanks man! This work is definitely very tough on the body and tough on the mind at some points. Not easy for sure... I pray that it doesn't completely kill my knees and back someday.
I’ve been thinking about adding hardscaping to my lawn care business-I have watched about everyone of your videos you’re a great teacher-thanks for sharing your videos.
I used to deliver stone for the guys back in the day.. my job was to pick up the orders, load it, and drop it off. Multiple crews all day. I had so much fun looking at stone centers and yards. Being alone walking around big yards full of stone, sand, bricks etc.
This walkway should be good for at least the next 100 plus years. When you think of the cost ,it was actually a barging for any price. Great craftsmanship
I love seeing other Hardscapers using open base like that. Down here in SC my company is one of the few that uses 789. A lot of companies down here only use sand/stone or granite dust! Y’all are doing awesome! God bless!
Amen brother! Still a lot of guys too stubborn to switch up here as well. I don’t understand why they can’t see the benefits…. I switched from traditional dense grade / sand over 4 years ago and will never go back…. Thanks for the feedback, God Bless you too man! ✌🏻
@@TheChristianHardscaper to be honest I didn’t know about this method, here in Massachusetts I always see dense grade compact everything and on top sand,or stone dust,
@@fabricioalmeida348 I used to use that method 4+ years ago but I will never go back to it. Open Grade base is just far superior. I have over a hundred installs using it, excellent!

Yeah, that's a sharp looking project. Very satisfying to see that come together wirh everything exactly where it should be.
@@TheChristianHardscaper those stay in place? No concrete needed or adhesives?

Great job on the big aggregate below the pea gravel, excellent source of drainage
Yes sir, drainage is the most important part to any hardscape install. That's the biggest reason why I use that backfill method. ✌

I did some back in 1984, I was 27 and it was a great experience to dig down and build a proper base and learned lots from the older craftsmen.
Construction work will make a old man out of a person fast
Beautiful!
How does it stay in place?
We concrete the edges after, just didn’t show it in this short ✌🏻
Love the steps
They are really nice. 👌
Did you finish it with packed sand or mortar or just leave them as they were? I’m still learning. Looks great!
I concrete the edges and polymeric sand the joints. This was not the final product. ✌
@@TheChristianHardscaper Меня интересовал конечный результат. Если не бетонировать, то всё рарушится. Хорошая работа!
