One think about me I have watched every episode of gunsmoke and Matt was not jealous of kitty's proposal to doc!...Matt, kitty, doc, chester, fetus and Sam the bartender ALL loved and had great respect for each other! They was family! I will always love gunsmoke 💯❤️❤️!!!

Back before the days of 6-10 patient encounters per hour at a level 3 RBRVS or higher to keep the doors open as a PCP. And Galen Adams never had to decide what payers to par with . . . .
It went to an hour in 1961 and the hour shows for a few years were top notch with excellent writing. The hour long shows were excellent through about 1965 or so. But there were several great years of the hour long version of the show. John Meston and Kathleen Hite wrote some of the best episodes of the show during that period. And I always loved the nature scenes on the show in general. A look at an untouched world and wilderness. Love the show. A real escape.
There is a story line in one episode where Kitty mysteriously is riding out of town every few days; she's taking stuff to a cabin out of town where someone is keeping a child for her. She is wearing leather riding pants when Matt tracks her down, and Cat Woman had nothing on Ms. Kitty's ass! Only time I ever saw her rear end so displayed.
@@DanneyTanner Last heard it during a recent RUclips "Word on Westerns" with Jean Shepherd and another older actress. Jean was Amanda Blake's roommate when she first got the Kitty part back in 1955. She knew her all through till Amanda died. Can't remember exactly where else I heard it. If you watch them interacting after the first season's you may notice how close and intimate they are. Matt Dillion getting two timed by Kitty with an old codger.

Milburn was old school and married. I do not believe gossip and rumors especially after someone has passed and can not defend themselves. Kitty and Milburn, along with their spouses, wee good friends. Kitty was married oor had BF thru some of the Gunsmoke years.
,insp has since changed their logo but what is really gets me is the lopping off the opening credits with the main cast and the condensing of the closing credits. now that the have the color episodes they do the same thing gunsmoke is best seen intact either on me TV or on DVD or blu-ray I also stopped watching on TV land where they too condense the closing credits. they do leave the opening credits intact.

Doc was too fussy and crabby and he was always at the Long Branch getting free drinks from Kitty! Matt was always drinking too.

The character explained that the danger of the job would make him poor husband material. It was a believable explanation.

I miss Chester. By far my favorite. I feel like they tried too hard with festus. Chester was pure and played his character very well.
They were so much better as 30 minute shows the first several seasons. Later became more of a Western soap opera.
