wagminder that’s not the point of the comment.... there’s literally always gonna be horrible things happening, that doesn’t mean that innocence and good feelings shouldn’t also happen or be recognized. this movie just captured the positive side of the 80s. try being less negative maybe 🤷🏻♀️
FaytLinegod. I decided not to even watch it. I read “there’s going to be a remake of FOOTLOOSE.” My immediate thought was “we don’t NEED a remake. We have FOOTLOOSE!”
The plot of "Footloose" was loosely based on events that took place in Elmore City, Oklahoma dancing was banned in Elmore City for almost 100 years but in 1980 the ban was lifted and the graduating class of Elmore City High School was able to have their very first prom.
“On my planet, there’s a legend about people like you. It’s called Footloose. And in it, a great hero, named Kevin Bacon, teaches an entire city full of people with sticks up their butts that dancing, well... it’s the greatest thing there is.” Yeah, Footloose was my first VHS movie played on a Panasonic J33 vcr. I'm old 😅
When I was little, I always wondered where my dad got the funny dance moves from - he wanted to dance like Kevin Bacon. Almost 40 years later, when "Footloose" is on the radio, he still turns up the volume and tries to dance like Kevin Bacon. And it's the most adorable dancing I've ever seen.
well since 4 figured out that there are bars close to that town where dancing wasn't illegal I'm pretty sure a few more would be able to notice that as well.
I saw this movie opening night and the theatre was packed. When the final dance scene came on everybody in the theatre got up and started dancing. When we got in the car to leave, I turned on the radio and the theme song to Footloose was playing. I dropped the windows and cranked the stereo to ear bleeding overdrive, as I did so everybody within earshot started dancing in the car park. My friend and I got out and danced along with them. What happened to those great times?
People like Christopher Matthews happened. ^^^ Ironically he is the guy in the movie that was in the group trying to get Ren blacklisted. There are good things. Just have to find it and work for it like Ren did.
I am struggling with seizures these days, but watching this never fails to make me happy! "hey, hey, what's this I see? I thought this was a party! Let's dance!" This movie was made for those who are in a bad mood, so they can watch this get into "footloose" mode. :D
I was an Extra in one of Kevin's movies. Kevin might be the fittest adult male I've ever seen--he has the body of a 14 year old; about 5'6/120, its incredible. Guys an amazing actor too.
The best part of being an only child is you can blast this as loud as you want and dance around your house and no one stops you. If anything my parents join me
Why you can't have dancing like this in 2017 ? Man people injoyed in 80's they lived their lives like kings. This is awesome.Nowdays internet,internet,internet.Boring.Dancing release best in people.Negative energy becomes positive and you forget about all your problems.Wish i was living 80's.Happy times :).
The amazing thing about this scene is that it takes all day, possibly several days to get the lighting, camera angles, and blocking right for every single shot when you're shooting a movie. And then it takes about the same amount of time to edit it all together into an actual movie scene. These poor people must have been absolutely exhausted.
@@DarkDoughnutsVids Jesus fuck thank you! When people say “the 80s we’re happier and safer decade” that’s because they were only a teen or kid, it wouldn’t be a happier time for them if they lived in neighborhood where Richard Ramirez or Jeffrey Dahmer killed people lmaooo.

This movie captured the innocence and overall feel of the 80’s perfectly.
I’m short pressed For a name The 80s were a great time. So glad I got to to enjoy them.
Crack, AIDS, Chernobyl, Exxon Valdez, Iran-Contra, Challenger explosion, Central Park Five. Yeah, a lot of innocence.

The '80s was literally the peak of crime in the US and most of the world.

You know, for a town that outlawed dancing, these kids sure know how to dance...
Hahahaa yeah!

Yeah the authorities should learn from this and outlaw math next.

The same Elmore from The amazing world of gumball?
Douglas Roth did someone dance like dude at 2:25?
There was a Christian romance novel called the Dancing Master which is basically a Jane Austen version of Footloose. 😂😂
How can one get over a "Footloose" dance-off between two supergroups? One cannot. Thank you, Kevin Bacon. Thank you, Umbrella Academy

They technically were allowed to dance..

The kid @ 2:25 and the one after him have some freaking awesome moves.
Currently playing it at .25x speed to study and learn. I’ve done a bit of break dancing so some move look like a similar variation
