  • A side by side look at these two great pistols, chambered in the phenominal 10mm cartridge. The G40 has the MOS mounting ststem on it, which makes for an easy install for a red dot reflex sight. No high dollar gunsmithing costs here. Ready to go.

    Just picked up my G40 and immediately had Ameriglo raised suppressor sights installed. Been waiting for that Blue Label G40 for months! Glad I now have both G20 and G40. Both have a purpose for me. Should have a McNally trigger installed by next week! Alpha Wolf barrel in the G20 and one on the way for the G40. Love premium Underwood 10mm ammo! Found and purchased over 500 rounds of it.

    Love my G40 MOS........and it dwarfs my G34 MOS and of course the G48 MoS. Somehow, even with the big slug, the G40 is a soft shooter......they don't call it the Glockzilla for nothing ! The G40s get snapped up real quick, during the rare occasions when one arrives at my local gun shops and I had to wait a long while to get mine.

Owned a G20 and G20 SF(short frame) so I bought a One Wolf Slide 6" and an Alpha Wolf 6.2" threaded barrel EGW red plate for Leopold Delta 2 final res held zero after many red dot failed. Now it tacks 1" at 15 yards milk jugs at 50 0, 60, 75 yards. Will try 100 yards soon working on reloads for 180gr NOS hunting performance and 135 gr mad speed. I kept bought one on the chest one one my side standard setup minimum modifications 5.5 pubs trigger pull

    Nice Review I always wanted a Glock 40 for deer hunting.

  • @TheRealJP777
    @TheRealJP777 3 года назад +2

    This was a good start for a review, but it would've been a better if it would've included an accuracy comparison between the two (i.e. how easily it is to shoot two-inch groups at 25 yards, etc.) I've seen some other videos of people shooting the G20 and only putting 1 out of 3 or 4 shots on-target, which is really scary if you think about that in the context of a grizzly charging you at 40mph.
    On a side note: velocity is only one factor that affects impact / stopping power. Of course you did touch on the longer barrel increasing that velocity (and it should, theoretically prove more accurate over distance with the longer barrel too); but the weight of the bullet also affects the stopping power. The heavier the grain, the higher that stopping power, in general. Also, the heavier the grain, the more disparity there will be between the muzzle velocity out of a 5" barrel vs. a 6.5" barrel. =)

    • @Hilander1298
      @Hilander1298  3 года назад

      99% of accuracy is on the shooter. Unless there is a Ransom rest used which will clamp down pistol and take the humab factor out of it.

    • @TheRealJP777
      @TheRealJP777 3 года назад

      @@Hilander1298, I totally agree; however, other factors come into play, such as barrel length, and even the rifling inside a barrel. That's why the same person can be far more accurate with a rifle than a pistol. That's why I was curious how much of a factor the G40 would play on accuracy for it's slightly longer barrel.

    say "I'm shooting a bigger diameter
    bullet than you" kind of thing.
    I looked in to that .50 as well.

      WorkerBee2011 The Glock website has the listed weight wrong. I've also seen other videos stating the wrong weight, that I'm sure they got off the site. The weight listed in my manual is 35.62 ozs with empty magazine & 44.44 loaded. It's a solid feeling gun, I'm glad its not 28 ozs.( this is for model 40 MOS)

    Is there any truth to the talk that if you use a 10mm for self defense, the court system see you as the criminal; complaining "over kill" and "just wanting the kill" since PD uses the smaller 9mm?

    • @gregoneill1495
      @gregoneill1495 4 года назад

      You better be able to articulate why you shot more so than what you shot, (caliber).

    • @stevieseasalt
      @stevieseasalt 4 года назад +9

      Zinc Man this is absolutely false. People use rifles for self defense all the time and rifles are way more powerful. Shotguns have been used for self defense for over 100 years and those way more powerful as well. Here are a few more points. The church shooter who put down the active shooter in Texas used a .357 .357 is very comparable to 10mm. Either you are justified or you’re not. Caliber doesn’t matter. Apply that to bystanders as well. Just don’t shoot innocent people and you’ll be okay.
