I have been playing this amp (original edition) for some time. Such a great amp. So versatile and I like it better than the my Engl Screamer 50, a „real“ tube amp.
Hey Jack. Cool review. I have the Mercury Edition as well. I've owned a lot of fantastic amps over the years and still have a couple, but this is the amp I use all the time for rehearsals and live work. Still makes me laugh when the sound man looks at the Amp1 disbelievingly, then they hear the line out and think I've got the REAL amp hidden somewhere! :O)
@@kfr5018 No, I have a cab on stage as well as run the line straight out of the AMP1 into the PA. I really like the "IR" Tomas used, so I don't feel the need to get the Blu Box.
Love your style Jack! You gave a great tone demo of the amp! Very much appreciate. BTW, don't ever sell the Amp1. Don't know how much tube stock Thomas has on hand, but if the war drags on, at some point these things could become very rare/expensive. Best Regards and Best Wishes!
Maybe you can try humbucker based guitars like Gibson Les Paul or PRS or similar so we can hear all these sounds with humbucker guitars since you emphesized that the amp is most suitable for single coil guitars. Thank you.

You forgot to say that the 3 footswitches can be set so they recall 3 different saved presets with regards to different channels, volumes and gain settings

I’m not a fan of the record out. On the iridium edition you can turn it off and use a proper IR. Sounds epic

The boost can also be increased and decreased via the side control pots. Can take the vintage channel into Van Halen I territory
