Also me included, I almost got an Iridum Amp 1 but then the news came for the X and I started waiting. If I had known it takes YEARS I would have bought the Iridium instantly. This way, I never got a BluGuitar product. I think he should have waited and dropped the finished Bomb. His Stuff is so good but it's like a cliffhanger.

At the time it was more of an idea than a product, but it sounded like he was essentially where he actually is now with it. My issue with Amp 1 more about durability. I have had 2, both broke and in both cases the cost to repair would have been more than buying another one because the only repair center in the US charges like $350 an hour to work on them. One broke from gigging, though it lived on a pedal board which always was in a hard case. The other died just sitting in a rack in my home studio, maybe 20 hours on the unit. One day it just started buzzing like crazy. I can't imagine paying 3k for Amp X and have it suddenly die 13 months later and then having to just buy another one because repair is impossible and/or not economically feasible due to the design.
Oh to have an amp that sits on the floor, sounds great and is loaded with FX.... stuff of dreams. 😂... seriously, the Bluguitar amps are awesome and he can play.
Thomas is a blessing for us player :) We all use the Iridium in the band! He did also a great Job on the Cabinets. Try out Fat- or Nanocab! Crazy good Sounds!
I wish it has stereo fx return, just the return section - if possible. The fx send section can be mono. Most delays and reverbs nowadays are in stereo, and especially AmpX has stereo main outs too. So having a stereo fx return would be perfect

As a hobby player currently using an Eleven Rack and a Boss Katana (mainly for it's Power Amp in) I can't wait to see this AMP X in person. I thought about a FM3 or a Kemper, but really holding back for this

@@sanjayb299 This is amp, not a modeler pedal. There is plenty of demos of Amp1 amps around. Tell you what, since I have one I didn't have desire to play or get another amp. It's perfectly usable in any situation. And everyone likes it, from band members to sound engineer. Modelers tend to sound anemic, fizzy, often obviously fake and overly processed. Above all, modelers cannot provide the playing dynamics like AMp1/X.
There are many solid choices of modelers nowdays (among other guitar stuff). I perceive amp1-ampX as a good sounding and responding amp(s) first, kinda like old school valve amps but in a smaller package. While I see modelers like kemper, QC, ToneX etc are like an extension of the rig/gear with hundreds of presets and menus and effects that still need additional power amp and routes to deliver in any situation. It depends on what you use it for and what you need. Good buy ,anyways.
I don't know. By this time i thought that the Mercury and Iridium sounds were already done inside the Ampx. I have a Mercury and was about to buy the Iridium but im put the ideia on hold to get an AmpX. Of course I'm on the waiting list and I'll wait as long as it takes to it to arrive. But I was actually thinking that they were already playing with AmpX in Germany...

@@mraybarsx If you bought both mercury and iridium amps (new, not used) , you spent 1740 euros. Given that Thomas wants to pack a lot of stuff in there (besides those two amps) , like effects, bluebox IR, more granular control over the sound tweaking, presets, I/O etc it's not that much of a stretch from the price of those 2 amps. SInce I have Mercury and bluebox, I really don't need AmpX as I am very satisfied with the usability and the sounds of the amp/IR. But if I happen to have extra money I will probably sell Mercury/Bluebox and go for AmpX. If they can deliver it, it is probably worth the money. Especially if you are live playing and studio recording all the time. I understand 2k is a lot of cash (for some people). Amp1 is still great and can be found way cheaper.
Nobels, RAT, rangemaster, tubescreamer...are some of the drive pedals I saw included, on a demo. Boosts, compressors, delays, chorus , other modulation, replex etc will probably be included as well.
@@TheGuitarGeek the digitech was also the only thing that wasn't was the digital delays and Reverb but, everything else was all linear analog opamps for the overdrives . There were a few analog to digit converters but it was originally still an analog signal. I know I own one
@@TheMemagNeman No it was 150 watts ! The Johnson Millennium was all Digitech way back in 1998 ! It had all the digital effects with an analog solid-state amplifier! Still impressive to this day!

I have Yamaha DG stuff from the 90, both the floor unit (not an amp just FX unit) and the combo amp (actual 80W amp with the same digital effects). You see, this is first and foremost a powerful D-class amplifier with a nanotube in the circuit, that you can carry around with ease. Of course there are units that deliver tons of FX in a box nowdays and sound good, but if you want a multiple marshall type amps that doesn't break your back this is the thing (amp1).AMpX will try to deliver more amps and FX than Amp1. Again, the feel of this amp and a digital hybrid is just not comparable. I see how this could get lost in the sea of digital multieffect units, kempers, cortexes and other stuff, but it's really a beast of it's own. For home fiddling everything is just fine IMO.
As a guitarist with over 48 years of experience, I WANT TO HEAR what THOMAS BLUG feels is ESSENTIAL for the VIEWER to understand and know about this particular design. Someone standing in the shadows kept hounding the interviewer to step things up. COME ON! That nearly RUINED this entire video! Time contraints suck if the VIEWER is ACTUALLY INTERESTED in what and where he or she is considering laying down their hard earned money on UNIQUE, INDUSTRY CHANGING, MODERN TECHNOLOGY. Someone needs to wise up and provide Thomas with the type of interview he NEEDS TO TRULY EDUCATE AND INFORM THE PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS INTERESTED IN THIS TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT. This is a much needed piece of gear that MIGHT VERY WELL BE A TECHNOLOGICAL GAME CHANGER! {Please pardon my rant!}
Isn't it true all the botique valve and all the big name valve and digital amp builders and online music market places are paying him under the table not to release the ampX? Isn't it likely they are offering him big money to never release? Isn't that what's going on here?
Thomas is a real life genius and speaks with the passion of a true artist. We're very lucky to have him.

I own the amp 1 iridium, I have a 10 band eq thru the loop and an overdrive pedal in the front and a 4x12 cab...the thing sounds incredible.
