Nice ! Been waiting for rain in Montana ! 👍😊
Another great upload. In my opinion, you have the best PNW mushroom foraging YT channel.
Im selling my house and property in Oklahoma and heading up there to live a part of the year in my rv so I've been consuming as much information as possible re foraging and fishing in the PNW.
You guys have such a wide variety more of mushrooms than we do. Here I've only found blonde morels, golden chanterelles, oyster, coral, black trumpet, COW, hen of the woods, puffballs, wood ear and LBM .
I cannot wait to dive into the PNW's world of fungi. Thanks for the outstanding content!
I’ve learned so much from you about mushrooms and habitat, I love the way you do your videos! I feed like I’m getting an almost-real experience, and always come away with some bit of added understanding!
Amazing scenery at the 7:00 mark, just beautiful, thanks for including that!
Just found porcini at 4000 feet here on mount hood
Wife & I joined psms because of all the fungus we would find fishing & backpacking around the lakes in that area. Now we pack a lot less food because we pick it up on the hike & if we don't catch fish we don't worry we just go for a walk & usually find something we are totally confident to eat even whille alone in the mountains, I used to be terrified we would poison ourselves & be found dead.
Love from Skagit valley, you should visit.
Amazing how you remember all those Latin names per type of mushroom entity. Fun to traipse the woods with you and Gunner.
Good job on mixing the music in. The volume was great and not overwhelming
Stropharia find so awesome!!!
Was a awesome day, great video..
Boletes!
U get me all wound up !!! But no one yet to hunt with .
I'm too scared to go at it alone ..
I moved to Seattle just because of ypur channel !! Keep mushi ❤
What a great outing. The Yellow Jackets are plentiful this year up here near Index.
I'm excited for coastal porcinni. The only way I can find em unfortunately.
Love your mini documentaries.. greetings from Wyoming
Beautiful. I should be out doing what you're doing.
Outstanding!
How awesome! Great video😊
never seen the pecks yellow amanita before.. what a pretty mushroom! thanks for the great video :)
Boletes and Morels are what I look for, would LOVE to find chanterelles here....
It rained in this area today too, this should help keep things lookin real mushy out here 🍄🫶🏼
The bear’s head was so cool. I was wondering how to harvest it - so was interesting to see you can just pluck it. And the bee’s nest - didn’t know they’re in the ground like that. Good to know. Poor Gunner.
Way too dry here in north Idaho. Found some chanterelles a month ago but zilch since. Won't be long and we will be getting frost. Looks like a sort fall mushroom season over here. Love your videos.
Missing the farmers’ market in Corvallis……sure to be chanterelles soon….never seen them around Ludlow
Live to rhe north in b.c Canada the work you do to educate is inspiring thankyou
I ate Angle wing's last night and they were amazing! Meaty tasting.
Woohoo!! What a great foraging day for you!! Very nice, Aaron!
Love your videos. Thank you so much. ❤
A great day of foraging. I can almost taste them.
Super cool. I would love to make my way up to Washington to do a decent mushroom hunt. Down here in Oregon things are starting to pop off right now because of the late summer rains. I’m going out today to see what I can find. I’m expecting to find chanterelles at least. It would be great to find some porcini. Thanks for the great vids!
I love bear head mushrooms in spaghetti
I am in NE Bulgaria at the moment. Three times went foraging. Collected good amount of Pleurotus ostreatus, but nothing else grows. Too dry and warm i guess.
Aaron I always look forward to your hikes and finds. Its beautiful there! In NW Pennsylvania recently found hen of the woods,COW and oysters oh my✌️
thats a gorgeous hike !!
older porcinis are good for making powder
Lake Ozette has tons of mushrooms on the trail
I love to see how your video are getting better overtime ❤️🔥
gunner is so mellow , does he ever get in trouble with wildlife besides the bees?
Haha, nope😂 This is twice in the last month that he stepped in a bee's nest. Luckily they have a hard time getting through his hair. He did get stung a couple times though and he wasn't happy.
Craziest thing i ever did for a mushroom was reaching my hand into a hollow tree that was teaming with yellow jackets to get at some hericium coralloides.
Is that the J section heading north? Or the I section heading south? Just wondering. I hiked to Snow Lake in the Alpine Wilderness area. Beautiful mushy day 🍄
WTH, I can't save this video. Good video
Hi Aaron, Love your channel..Thanks for sharing your knowledge. We found some fascinating mushrooms in Northern Cali yesterday, was wondering if you could help us identify or any suggestions..? Greatly appreciated..
I ate angel wings once and it was not a good time. I had explosive diarrhea for a few hours and my entire body was very hot. It was over in about 12 hours and the onset took about 5-7 hours but it was a bad time.
I wonder if he thought the same thing I did every time he reached under a log.... Mushroom,,,,, Timber rattler....
We don't have any poisonous snakes on this side of the mountains.
What do you think about long stemmed-Russula
How long of a walk was it 🤔
I probably spent 3 and 1/2 hours in the woods.
Hey Aaron, do you think your proximity to the ocean effects the mushroom growths? I live and forage on Mt.Hood and don't find nearly the variety or abundance of species that you do. 🤷♂
Well, in this instance, I was up in the mountains near Snoqualmie pass. Quite a ways from the ocean. The elevation with cooler temperatures and heavier rainfall are why I'm seeing all these mushrooms. Now that the rains have hit the lowlands it's only a matter of time before even at sea level there are this many mushrooms. Sometimes you have to go to where the mushrooms are. If you went uphill you would find more!
@@mushroomwonderland1 Thank you, and mush-love for the shared knowledge! You have definitely help me up my game! 🍄
So when you prepare the Porcini for cooking do you remove the porous/spongy underside of the the cap?
Personally I don't, but many do.
That's the best part!
Is it legal to collect in a National Forest?
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸👍👍👍👍
Is there a group of people my wife and I can meet up with and hunt for mushroom we live in Oregon she looking for any we can eat and I'm about magic one but also one you can eat
Im in oregon does anyone wanna forage with me? ill come pick you up.

Have eaten them before, no probs. Everyone is different. Know a guy, fine with mushrooms, except blewits. Not currently eating angel wings, better safe than sorry
