The a7S is truly a game changer in night sky filming and it's crazy that even to this day no other camera on the consumer market competes. Love the vids!
I've been wanting to make this video for a while. The Sony A7s is a fantastic camera even if you don't include its incredible low light performance. Do you know a better low light camera available for a similar cost? Then please leave a comment below and let me and every other astronomy enthusiast know, cheers. Great video. This needs to be said. I’ve been doing this for over 10 years 🎉and as the member of an astronomical society I have explained this to many Astronomical photography hopefuls. This needs to be explained over and over to help all these up and coming astrophotographers. What a great hobby especially with all the great new technology.
Hi Damon. I'm kinda new to astrophotography. I would like to know if the Cannon 2000D with a 50mm lens is good for astrophotography. What do you think?
As a RUclipsr I so much envy those with a A7s camera. Those night shots are amazing. The camera in NL has astronomical prizes unfortunately (pun intended)... I guess people on my channel will have to contend with timelapses for the time being.
Wow Damon spotting . Your videos always shock me as they are always nicely edited . I personally own the a7 iii well it might not be good as the a7s series but definitely good enough . Damon pls reply to this message
Man, I wish I knew someone like you around where I live in Wales haha. I'm out anytime it's clear to just take it all in, and even better, capture some DSOs. Rare to find someone our age that shares the same passions eh? Stay safe and clear skies to you!
Hi Damon, I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and I think they are just amazing what you can do with the equipment you have. I have just inherited my dads SLR camera and you have inspired me to try and capture what you do so brilliantly. Keep up the great work you are awesome.
Your videos give me pleasure when I don't get peace in mind, if you make videos about astrophysics then a lot of people can know about the rules of the universe with a peaceful mind, since the videos give pleasure of mind to a lot of people
I'm a Canon-guy, I admit 🙈 ... but even in the Canon-world you can start astrophotography on quite a budget. I started a few years ago with my mighty G7Xii, a pocket camera, but with all the settings adjustable manually. This camera on a tripod allowed me to get my first pictures of the night sky that I still treasure today! And it still follows me everywhere (mark iii I admit) but as my daytime "just come along"-camera. It's certainly not as capable for filming as your Sony, these ISO-numbers shocked me! Thanks for the video.
I have a question which ive come to your latest vid to comment in hope you reply, Its a very odd question Because of the time light takes to travel, We are seeing things in the past, Therefore is there a planet far enough away that could possibly be whitnessing the earths big bang 65million years ago?
hey man, i just wanted to ask what bortle scale you’re seeing around where you live? i wouldn’t wanna ask where abouts you’re from as its kinda weird LOL, but im just curious as you get to see so much even in your normal videos of the sky
Hmmm still confused. Is version 1 viable or not. You seem to be saying that V2 downsamples the 4k to 1080 at high iso so much more viable but version 2 is not $300 but you are implying it is?

Agreed! Thanks, Alyn! Been watching your videos for just over a year. Big fan of your work! 😁👌
No way it’s Alyn Wallace

Isn't Sony Alpha A7S is priced at 3,500$, according to Amazon and Sony's official store website
that 300 dollar camera costs 600 dollars :(

It is always nice to be at school then when you have time to do what you want you see your favorite astronomer youtuber post a video. Nice video also😊

Filmed all the night sky videos with my Sony. Best camera. But the lins is much more expensive 👍☄️
Hi, which lens 35mm do you use? Sony 35mm 1.4 GM?

Universe it self. Deep edges of galaxies.
Why are the trails of the meteors so green?
Super❤❤❤
Nice video like ever 😊
Quite good
This camera is NOT 300, but more like the body starts at over a grand. Do tell where you bought your sony for 300 dollars? I highly doubt it.
Do you use any filters to see nebulae's?
@damon scotting is celestron astromaster 130 eq good telescope for beginners?
Btw I'm a huge fan of urs
🔥
