The a7S is truly a game changer in night sky filming and it's crazy that even to this day no other camera on the consumer market competes. Love the vids!

I've been wanting to make this video for a while.
The Sony A7s is a fantastic camera even if you don't include its incredible low light performance.
Do you know a better low light camera available for a similar cost? Then please leave a comment below and let me and every other astronomy enthusiast know, cheers.

Great video. This needs to be said. I’ve been doing this for over 10 years 🎉and as the member of an astronomical society I have explained this to many Astronomical photography hopefuls. This needs to be explained over and over to help all these up and coming astrophotographers. What a great hobby especially with all the great new technology.

Hi Damon. I'm kinda new to astrophotography. I would like to know if the Cannon 2000D with a 50mm lens is good for astrophotography. What do you think?

As a RUclipsr I so much envy those with a A7s camera. Those night shots are amazing. The camera in NL has astronomical prizes unfortunately (pun intended)... I guess people on my channel will have to contend with timelapses for the time being.

Hi Damon, I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and I think they are just amazing what you can do with the equipment you have. I have just inherited my dads SLR camera and you have inspired me to try and capture what you do so brilliantly. Keep up the great work you are awesome.

Man, I wish I knew someone like you around where I live in Wales haha. I'm out anytime it's clear to just take it all in, and even better, capture some DSOs. Rare to find someone our age that shares the same passions eh? Stay safe and clear skies to you!

This camera is NOT 300, but more like the body starts at over a grand. Do tell where you bought your sony for 300 dollars? I highly doubt it.

I'm a Canon-guy, I admit 🙈 ... but even in the Canon-world you can start astrophotography on quite a budget. I started a few years ago with my mighty G7Xii, a pocket camera, but with all the settings adjustable manually. This camera on a tripod allowed me to get my first pictures of the night sky that I still treasure today! And it still follows me everywhere (mark iii I admit) but as my daytime "just come along"-camera. It's certainly not as capable for filming as your Sony, these ISO-numbers shocked me! Thanks for the video.

I have a question which ive come to your latest vid to comment in hope you reply, Its a very odd question
Because of the time light takes to travel, We are seeing things in the past, Therefore is there a planet far enough away that could possibly be whitnessing the earths big bang 65million years ago?

Hmmm still confused. Is version 1 viable or not. You seem to be saying that V2 downsamples the 4k to 1080 at high iso so much more viable but version 2 is not $300 but you are implying it is?
