I bought it... yes $200, but I only had one of these albums. Essentially I'm paying $40 an album and getting a cool faux leather box, heavyweight jackets - plus notes/interview, plus Kevin Gray's cut. I've bought a few Rhino Hi Fi's lately and they are some of the best sounding albums I own. So it's a deal unless you have OG pressings or already own all the albums. These albums (and others - Led Zep / Aerosmith) essentially created the legend of the '59 Les Paul. These albums are "Pearly Gates" - it's essential blues rock tone. Bare bones bluesy boogey from a tight power trio. Can't wait to give them a spin.
I really need to be better about watching your videos. I really love the look you go for with everything. It's so mid-century classic plus you're so good at talking about the albums you show us. I love Vinyl Rewind so much.
I said it when Rhino broke the news on the release and some people had an issue with the price when you compare to boxsets out like The Police for 5-6 different takes on the same album demos live cuts etc. for almost identical price your getting 5 different albums top notch pressings, the 1 critique I have with Rhino is the jackets not the presentation but the albums even the inserts are difficult to fit back in, I was so glad to see your video mention this it’s not just the ZZTop it’s all the recent Rhino releases. Other than that this is a great boxset
I was born in 71 and the music and movie soundtracks from the 70's & 80's without a doubt is so much fun to have playing definitely depending on the situation but bands like ZZ TOP are how I can be transported exactly to the place I was when I saw the video for the first time or when it was playing wherever it might have been, but the majority of these total recall memories were usually away from my Home. I guess its my Norwegian parents who were mote protective that my friends parents? I do have a few from home #1 was Michael Jackson performing Billy Jean ❤️
I have 2 of ZZ Top's studio albums but with live tracks together in the same package. 1. Tres hombres (spanish for 3 Men) (full studio album with 3 live versions of Waiting For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago and Sheik) 2. Fandango! (Live/Studio album) (6 live tracks 2 live versions of jailhouse rock with live recordings of a backdoor medley and Thunderbird and 2 other live recorded versions of the last 2 tracks on Fandango! (Heard It On The X and Tush) bookending the 2nd live recorded cover version of Jailhouse Rock)
Thank you. I also think that Rhino jackets are too tight in the inside. Interesting though that the jacket size outside is so big it does not fit into any of my gatefold outer sleeves.
So much for Tejas being the original tri fold. The gatefold is the actual inner sleeve. And the extra photos arent even in the booklet? Everything seemed awesome up until then.
Hello Vinyl Rewind Love the channel and hope you will be reviewing the new David Gilmour album “Luck and Strange” when it’s released on the 6th September.
I bought black sabbaths self titled and since this box was sold out got the first 4 non numbered. Psyched to hear them. I have a really staticy original copy of tres hombre which really ahines through but
So, where is the original triple gatefold of Tejas with the individual members photos plus the live photo? This is the reproduction of the more cheap and poor UK version with only a regular gatefold where the original inner lyrics and band photo where used for the inside…
We say Rio Grande wrong in Texas. You said it right, but wrong. LOL. Grande is pronounced as in "hand" in Texas, when referring to the Rio Grande River, or the Rio Grande Valley etc. etc.
Hard pass on this one, I bought all the original albums sans First Album in the days of dollar vinyl (early 90s) :-) nice set though, thanks for sharing
Yes, that was the original inner sleeve. And, I could be wrong about this, but there’s one photo (guy with long hair and the other holding a Schlitz beer can) that I swear is one of my uncles! I can’t ask him, as he passed Thanksgiving of 2003. Also, are these the 70’s mixes as originally released by London Records (their original label)?
This set looks as tasty as a Texas Barbecue. Just oozes quality, very nice work

5:53 that's what she said! Harharhar. Best, Michael Scott
Amazing your manner of presentation. Nobody like you on the internet. Unique as they say
I have ZZ Top greatest hits on cd 💿 it’s their stuff from the 80’s
Wow they sent this to everyone
So cool - I need to get my hands on this before the summer ends. lol
So cool ❤️🔥 thanks for your review man

Really cool and well done!

Beauty box..I just wish they stuck with replicating the OG labels, so much more satisfying

Inserting the records and sleeves works better when you have the gatefold open. It releases the pinch points.
Boxes!❤️✨

Either it's the video or the covers and photos are dim? Everything is brighter in the original.
Great albums. Are they quiet?
well done rhino records
RUclips has not shown me a single one of your uploads in MONTHS and it makes me sad.
Nice !

Unless the box set comes in a garage with a Ford Coupe, I'm not interested.

Do I even want to know the price tag???

$200 which honestly even considering the quality is overpriced.
@@ZiddersRooFurryhave you seen all the other Rhino high fidelity issues at $40. A good price for an audiophile premium edition.
