  • This Abandoned Gold Mine produced millions of dollars worth of gold in its day of operation.
So I spend 1 day panning gold downstream from this super rich abandoned mine site alongside this amazing creek.
Although I didn't find my million's in lost treasure (Jokes), I still managed to find some silver mercury looking gold or other wise known as Amalgam or Quicksilver Gold in my gold pan after cleaning out some bedrock crevices with my gold crevicing hand dredge.
Follow me as I Find poisonous gold at this Abandoned Mine Site that was once rich in gold over 100 years ago.

Thanks for doing this video. I know where a couple of old stamp mills may have operated here in Virginia, back in the 1800s. I'll have to check those areas for amalgum next time I visit them.

In the US state of Maine you cannot remove any vegetation, even the moss in the bedrock crevices.. It’s hard to leave that stuff behind, but that’s the rules into these here parts ..

I was standing and crevicing exactly where the dam wall use to be.. there’s still massive steal rods sticking up in section of the bedrock in the middle of the creek.

Well you gave it a shot mate and scored a few nice bits and some Amalgam , i actually thought you would score alright out of the roots in the crevice , iv'e done alright with the old roots in crevices , and that surprised me that it had none , hmmm . Funny thing i looked into retorts years ago and they can be dangerous , i mean like a pipe bomb if the water level gets low and they suck back up the outlet . but i searched for a couple of years and found the most basic and safest retort going basically just using a few kitchen utensils , and i copied the plan of it . I might have to include it in a vid maybe one day . If you're interested drop me a message on my last vid and i'll email you a copy of it . Cheers Ned . 👍✌
