I also have a strong hunch chlorine will make my end of year list! I loved the anime adaptation of Yamada-kun as well. the fantasy element of my happy marriage was such a happy surprise to me too and I'm really enjoying the anime! might be my top anime of the year so far!
I watched the first episode of My Happy Marriage but now I'm waiting for it to finish to binge. There is a live action movie that just came out! A favorite actor of mine is the lead guy commander dude 🤗 The dvd comes out next month but no eng subs so I cry.
Chlorine was horrific. It earned its 5 stars from me. It is creepy throughout. I agree, go in blind if you like horror. If you are on the fence about it, I suggest reading the content warnings. They're out there but not at the beginning of the audio. I was mind blown. We read it for book club and we were seriously impressed with the revelation of it being a debut. The second point of view, kept me more in the dark and added to the mystery of the story for me. The entire time I wasn't sure what was real and not and the second voice added to that. It felt like a fever dream. Things kick off in VOL 3 of My Happy Marriage. I don't know if I want to read the anime yet. I too started reading the manga because the anime was going to be released but now I'm not sure if the anime will get ahead of the manga releases.
Immediately went to put a hold on a copy of Chlorine from my library😂 been wanting to read more literary horror (especially stuff that involves body horror)

For Chlorine lovers I’d recommend Gods of want by k-Ming Chang or anything written by her. It’s not horror but there is body stuff.
