Many people think that the hypnosis clips I post on RUclips are either fake, or staged. I have never posted anything other than genuine, unrehearsed individuals in real hypnotic trances. I have been hypnotizing people for over a half a century, and naturally have become quite adept at recognizing better than average subjects for demonstration purposes. But, none of it is faked in any way.

My spouse's used hypnosis during radiation therapy to deal with the pain, because of allergies to most pain medications. Hypnosis can also be used to change unwanted behaviors and deal with past trauma... but yeah.. use it as a party trick reliant on peer pressure.. maybe make a few balloon animals while you're at it.
I wonder why people generally don't consider hypnotherapy except as a last resort.. ?

You go to a College or a recognized school to become a Hypnotist.
It is not cheap.
Very teachable, and yes, anyone and everyone can be hypnotized just not all in the exact same way. That state when you are in bed, and not quite asleep but not all the way awake anymore? That's it. Hypnosis.
You go home after a long day, and realize you don't quite know how you got there?
Hypnosis.
Got engrossed in a movie and time flew by?
Hypnosis.
We all go in and out of hypnosis on a daily basis, and there are much better uses for it than a stage-show. It isn't magic. It isn't in mysterious. It's natural.
Yes, you can learn to do this consciously, because subconsciously you have been doing this all your life.
Use it to deal with trauma, unwanted behaviors, fun in the bedroom, sleeping issues, relief of chronic pain, heck.. slowing hemoreaging during a car accident.. if you have the inclination to learn, by all means gain some control over this natural state. There are plenty ways to learn it, and a lot of much better applications than the one shown here.

@@judichristopher4604 most hypnotists are actually self-taught. It's really not very difficult at all since hypnosis is a state we go in and out of all the time. All of us.
"Learning to hypnotize" is just about conscious awareness and knowing how to help someone create the state deliberately instead of only subconsciously. It is them that creates it, you as a hypnotist act as a guide. No more than that. It is not rocket science, and you don't need a degree to learn this.
Chances are you've hypnotized people and been hypnotized before without realizing plenty of times. Look for moments where time flies, or where you can't quite remember how you got from work or school to home... Chances are you were in trance at such moments.
If you want to be a hypno-therapist, it is the therapy part that requires the licence, not the hypnosis.
Plenty of people would love to abuse the misconceptions people have to make it seem mystical, mysterious, and difficult to make a quick buck. Don't fall for it.
My spouse has cancer, and allergies to pain medications. After a week of full body radiation your blisters have blisters and then there are 5 more weeks to go, so we used hypnosis. It works.. and it is not difficult.
Talk to someone who *doesn't* use it for stage-shows and you should be able to learn things pretty easily and without breaking the bank. (Usually: absolutely free, like we did.)

I do want to be a Hypnotherapist... I already do NLP Nero Linguistic Programing, have since the last 70s... I also do "Tapping" for PTSD... but I have been told to do Hypnotherapy for someone, I had to have a certification...
I teach Acting for Film and Theatre, but more over I want to teach children, teenagers and adults HOW TO overcome problems in their life... and how the brain can work for you if you give it a chance.
I am scheduled to take colleges courses to become a Professional Certified Life Coach, which is all well and good, but that is not enough, NLP and Hypnotherapy can do so much more...
I just can't find anywhere that doesn't want an arm and a leg for payment.
It frustrates me, that I have been using NLP, EFT "Tapping" for over 30 years and now I have to get certified and spend a lot of money doing it.
But I want to be as professional as possible. I love teaching Acting and self improvement to my students, and seeing people of all ages overcome their past.
It is a Blessing.
