I’ve stayed in both countries multiple times. Both are affordable for retirement. Thailand is my choice. Infrastructure, food, transportation, culture, streamlined visa process and did I mention the food? Philippines, too much trash, the food choices are not that great and overly cooked with cheap oils, poor infrastructure bordering on horrible infrastructure, frustrating government agencies for visa extension or any documents that need to be filed. Road safety in both countries is a toss up, but road quality? As for handicap accessible walkways and shopping areas, neither really cater much in that area unless it’s a huge store or shopping mall. I would say it’s a little easier for mobility in Thailand. Thailand gets my vote. I’ve never been scammed in Thailand in my 22 year history of visiting, but the Philippines? Heh 😅 I enjoy both countries but Thailand is my choice.

🤗Wow! Let's hope you become a Thai Citizen soon (No more need for visa extension😉). Oh and avoid the Philippines so it would not give you scamming nightmares or perhaps digestive issues from our "horribly limited varieties & cheaply oiled foods."
Btw, Scammers & trashy areas are everywhere in the world. Travelling includes self awareness & cluelessness is always part of it.
We may not miss your adjectives about Philippine foods, roads, etc. BUT hopefully Thailand is happy to keep you.
      Ciao!👋😂

@@pammeenta6998 aww I especially love seeing 8 year old kids plied with red horse in the name of culture. There is many reasons why the cycle of poverty will never end there. You can settle for the bottoms of the barrel but I don’t have too. Salamat for your blind devotion to the third work. Ciao Bella

I retired in ph 13 years ago was going to thailand ever 3 years for visa , but every time I go it cost more & more and enjoy it less & less. Now I have a 13a so don't have to leave country every 3 years. I really like Thailand 1st visit, but with every visit I enjoyed it less. I don't drink so the $5.00 bt beer not problem but the the $26.00 burger king meal was last draw. That meal in ph is $4.00
