For the Mega Stones one, you just have to beat the Cinnabar Gym. Viridian’s gym is locked, so you go to Oak to see if he can do anything about it, and Blue gives you the Mega Stones as well as opens up Viridian Gym
A trick i learned in another video for catching is have your joycons still on the switch and have the switch laying flat on a table or something then you only have to worry about your timing on pressing the A button for a perfect throw.

This game honestly sounds like ***** (poo) it honestly sounds like an even more boring version of grinding (just throw pokeballs less than two button presses needed) when does the get fun? "Can't beat the elite 4 spend more money on pokeballs that's the way to do it! Have 500 pidgeys that's how you you win" **** off I'd rather battle harden a metapod and tackle my way through the elite 4

Besides the heart scale information this is an actually useful video for some people who're new to the mechanics of let's go
You get both Charizard Mega Stones, and you can choose which one to use in battle, you don't have to decide before the battle starts.
You can actually get the mega stones for Charizard Venusaur and Blastoise after you beat Blaine
One thing to note shiny catch combo only works on the next pokemon so you have to continue to catch

I'm sadly quite late in responding, but using a Poke Flute wakes up Snorlax. You'll get it by progressing the story :)
