"Professor Oak will boil down the hair skin, sinewy meat, chalky bones, greasy marrow and gelatinous viscera of our unwanted beasts until only candy remains" Ok I'm buying a Switch...
I giggled at "birds fly south because their food is dead" but I lost it at printing a chart and lying that it is your chart for your crohns disease. Well played.
I don’t usually find the gaming corner of RUclips particularly entertaining. However, as a lifelong Pokemon nerd of the nineties with a dry and twisted sense of humour, I found this video to be a thing of beauty. Thank you 😘
Just starting Pokemon Let's Go a couple of weeks ago, (I'm a Pokemon Go fan with no previous Pokemon experience) this video has totally modified my view of the games.
This will help in my Let's Play series as I'm a total N00B when it comes to Pokemon. I'm loving it right now and I'm hoping this will be my gateway into more hardcore Pokemon games.
Dead Dead Ya I’m part of the small part of the community that cares about what pokeball my Pokémon is in. Tho I will be using the ultra ball and great balls for Pokémon I don’t care about but those that will be in my competitive team I will attempt to put them in premier balls.
Literally just subscribed because of, "buy a bursting bonker-loaded burger bucket of spray potions..." just... how did these magical words ooze out of your mouth from your brain?!
I was actually surprised at how cool and how much easier the Pokeball Plus made certain aspects of the game. Especially when compared to using the Joycon.
I can share ur opinion only partly; while it's ok to catch pkmn with it, outside from battles it's complete garbage to navigate through the menu. I mean shaking this thing quite intensely to press "X/Y" is annoying and pressing "A" sometimes leads u to accidentally direct up/down/sideways. Luckily u can mute it. Also it's way too expensive.
This was funny as hell. How have I not been to this channel before. Also tha is for letting me know eating the candies isnt a big deal. I'm just stocking them till late game. Lol
eevee can get better unique moves (90 base power) to compensate for evolutions. While pikachu just gets one that has 50 base power and has more type disadvantages..... I still picked pikachu tho, cus i'm a fekin sheep.
Small point about the likeable plus, if you put a pokemon in it and go on with your daily tasks of going shopping, to work or school the pokemon in the ball will keep gathering xp, so it's great if you want a pokemon in your team but it's got low xp... since we don't have the lucky egg anymore, is our best bet.
Solid Snake. wow. That's gold. and finally, we can rename our pokemon with ease!! Never understood why they limited us so severely with that. If they really are intelligent animals, you should be able to re-negotiate their name xD
Is there a way to make the game included the distance you are going when moving at speeds that are too fast, because acording to the game the speed I move when I walk at my regular speed is so fast that the game thinks I'm in a car.
I love all the tips EXCEPT not buying Balls. If you are going for Shinies, low-spawn rares (such as the Charmander on Route 3) or lots of candies for EVs, you want to do Chain Catch Combos usually up to about 12. That's at least 7 to 12+ Balls eaten up per Rare Catch. That itself is a lot of your "free" Balls used up.
Actually, to get the best chance of getting a shiny (without the shiny charm) you'll want to get a chain of 31 going on that specific pokemon. After you've caught 31, just sit back and avoid catching any so as not to ruin your combo, and wait for a shiny to spawn. You'll have around a 1 in 340ish chance I think. Oh and after getting a 31 combo the max IV a pokemon can spawn with will be 6 IVs, so its a good way to find wild high IV pokemon :)
brkr you can run from all the Pokémon that aren’t the one you’re trying to catch. You also do not have to catch every one that appears on screen, only the ones you attempt to capture. Combos are pretty easy to keep going and not very punishing at all.
The whole video was brilliant, but the section about Pokémon types was the funniest thing I've heard all week. Thanks Tim and Kotaku!
"Professor Oak will boil down the hair skin, sinewy meat, chalky bones, greasy marrow and gelatinous viscera of our unwanted beasts until only candy remains"
Ok I'm buying a Switch...
Getting Tim to do videos was the finest decision Kotaku ever made.
in a "mortally-wounded soldier throwing himself onto a grenade" sense, perhaps
LMFAO on how you crafted a story about how Professor Oak makes candy from butchering unwanted pokemon
Doesn't everyone know that he grinds down your pokemon into candy?
Game theory that’s how not his idea
HAHAHAHA
@@samuelcontreras9248 your comment has an opinion for translation. lol
9:08 and here's a tip for *you* : you can buy 10 units at a time by moving right instead of up
The office printer gag had me in tears. I love you, Tim Rogers.
Your dark humor is what I've been looking for for ages
Tim, you are the best. Seriously, you convinced me to buy Dragon Quest XI. This one was awesome too.
I giggled at "birds fly south because their food is dead" but I lost it at printing a chart and lying that it is your chart for your crohns disease. Well played.
Lol i actually do have crohns so it gave me an i relate laugh :P

This is the finest narration of any video ever
I've always thought of rock being weak to grass like weeds growing in the cracks in the sidewalk
i got chills of the accuracy about the memorizing of the types. i really have a chart to check because its been 15 years i played RBY 😂
Okay Onix = Solid Snake..... A+
Tim is getting me way too Excited about random tips

I don't know how much you're earning. But it isn't enough. Pay him more, capitalism.
So you're saying they have free healthcare or something? Nice.
I absolutely loved this. Professor Oak the Butcher!
Btw the pokeball plus is an awesome way of leveling up your pokemon quickly
Does this narrator have his own channel? He's great! I want more
Kotaku has a playlist for Tim Rogers videos that I highly recommend. Check out the FFVII series
He does now, at Action Button Reviews.
@@Crooked_Mantis hey thank you!

The description of how candies are made made me pause the video, like, subscribe, and turn on notifications. You’re awesome, thank you for the laughs!
This guys actually hilarious. Most stuff like this is annoying but I found myself literally lol’ing frequently. Well done lol
This guy should be the voice for all Kotaku videos
LOVE this guy! The only reason I would watch a long video on this stripped down game
I love how about halfway through the video it becomes Team Rocket Propaganda lmaooo
I find Tims voice so soothing, I just wanna listen to it all day,

Never seen a video by this guy, but instant fan. that was great stuff friend, thoroughly enjoyed it.
God I love the way he talks about Pokémon lol. 4 layers of metaphorical and literal prison lmao
Literally the most entertaining tips in game history, kudos.
I love this so much. It’s not even the game I care about at this point, he’s just so great at this
You sir. The voice of this video. Are amazing. Great job. Funny but still interested! Keep it up.
you can also avoid trainers by flying on charizard/aerodactyl/dragonite
idk how anyone could dislike this video. this was hilarious and informative 👏

I have to say I love the narrator of this video. His explanations/side rants/cynical attitude is hilarious.
Tip: Don’t buy pokeball
Me:But but I want my premier balls T_T
You get them from being great and ultra balls anyway

Also, Chain Catch Combos eat a lot of Balls.
I have 200 pokeball and im 3 gyms in, i just chuck till i catch or they run cause either they're everywhere or id have it on Go
Premier Balls are my favourite. ;w;
Your wittiness caused me to subscribe…Yay!
Tim Rodgers should leave Kotaku and start his own shit.

I love the narration. My new fav channel.
Best fucking review ever. This guy does deserve his own channel...love the style.
.....my Pokeball plus came with my switch and the Pokémon game lol. I actually enjoy using it more than the regular joycon tbh
Holy crap this guy is hilarious...I've never seen Kotaku's videos. I'm now a devout fan!
I stumbled here, and I am joyous for my accident has led me to the delights of Tim Rogers. Who is this man, this legend? Where can I hear some more?
I was cracking all the time. But holy fuck I lost it at Onyx so hard I just start coughing xD
I love all of this!
Weird I haven’t stumbled onto your videos before
You’ve got yourself a new subscriber.
"Send the diabolical professor your superfluous captive animals"
I like this narrator. I liked when he went crazy on how you can't catch them all. I mean you literally can't catch them all.
I disagree about pokeball plus, it's really fun to use, no probs at all.
blink twice if you are being pointed with a gun
I agree it's easy to use and having my switch docked and laying down and using that ball is really nice. Catching with that is super easy
it almost costs as much as the game itself. Not worth it in my opinion

The pokeball is more worth if you bought it with the bundle switch pack
I was not expecting this video, but it was glorious

the editing and narration of this video made it hilarious

CANDY - this was awesome :D thanks for making me laugh loudly at work :D
More of this please. This was absolutely hilarious.
The Pokémon types part. I felt like you knew that is exactly what I would do
eevee can get better unique moves (90 base power) to compensate for evolutions. While pikachu just gets one that has 50 base power and has more type disadvantages..... I still picked pikachu tho, cus i'm a fekin sheep.
Pikachu gets a stab bonus on his tho
Actually, Pikachu can get a water type and flying type move later in the game to compensate for its type disadvantages.
It also has priority and always crits so 50BP doesn't tell the whole story. But yeah Eevee's are way better.
I don't know who this guy is but he's hilarious. Great video
I love your description of sending Pokemon to Prof Oak
