    I hiked with my married friends to Big Pine Lakes. We camped at Second Lake on the first night and hiked to Palisades Glacier the second day.

    Very nice video and music. I love it there. One of the most beautiful places to hike or camp.

      Haha we both made very different styles of videos so the enjoyment definitely depends on viewer taste. Glad you liked the video!

    This is about the 10th " hiking with friends" video I've watched today, and this is by far the best!
    No annoying music, or shaky camera, or irritating music. Just what I wanted to see. Well done, and thanks for sharing. Peace and love from Florida USA!

    Read your review in AllTrails and that drove me here. Outstanding video and hike. My son and I did a part of that trail a few years back--to Third Lake. But your hike was very cool. Thank you for posting it.

    I’m planning a trip for the weekend. Where did you guys park and did you leave the permit on your windshield or carry it with you?

    • @PaulSantas
      @PaulSantas  2 года назад

      There's an overnight parking lot for the lakes on Glacier Lodge Rd., about a mile down trail from the day use only parking lot. Keep your permit on you, no need to put it on the windshield. Have a great time!

    Looks much different from exactly a year ago. The glacier was still largely iced over at this time of year and much more snow.

    • @PaulSantas
      @PaulSantas  3 года назад

      That's great to know! The lip of the glacier was actually cracking the day I was there so we heard loud noises coming from the glacier and saw boulders rolling down the mountainside from the ice melting.

    Was it hard to get down to the glacier lake?

    • @PaulSantas
      @PaulSantas  2 года назад +1

      Harder than the scramble up to see the glacier but not too difficult of a scramble in my opinion

  • @ItsChrisAngeles
    @ItsChrisAngeles 2 года назад

    Do you need to reserve that spot by the lake to camp?

    • @PaulSantas
      @PaulSantas  2 года назад +2

      You need an overnight permit for Big Pine Lakes North Fork to camp on this trail. But the spots next to the lake are first come, first serve.

    Is it cold at night?

    • @PaulSantas
      @PaulSantas  3 года назад

      Weather reports said lows of mid-40's but it actually felt a bit warm at night. Wore a puffy jacket outside but not to sleep and didn't need other items like gloves, beanie, etc.
