How do you get 125g of protein in a day on a budget? Would love to see a video on how you do that esp since foods higher in carbohydrate, which are fine to eat, tend to be more affordable.
I actually shop Sam's Club but still enjoying watching what others buy and definitely am interested in LMNT. And you inspire me to get exercising again since your complexion is fantastic. Kudos
Me and my children LOOOOOOVE the sweet dark pitted cherries. I like to put them in snack ziploc bags in a large Ziploc bag in freezer. Thaw a bag or two in the fridge over night and eat any time. So simple.
My 71 year old father runs half marathons at least once a year, and spends the rest of the year training for them. He landed himself in the hospital with a critically low blood sodium level. So low that doctors didn't understand how he survived. He started drinking pickle juice as a supplement. Im going to send him some LMNT to try. Thanks for the tip!
When you were mentioning items on the baking aisle, I was like, “If she doesn’t mention the yeast, she has failed.” 😂 That is a complete steal. I keep my yeast in mason jars in the freezer and just dip out a little into a small jar for me to keep in the pantry. When I run out in the little jar, I go refill it from my deep freezer. I’ve had mine for probably over a year now, and it’s still works great! I was so stoked when I learned that you could freeze yeast. It cut the cost down on my baking tremendously.
I should send you some of our maple syrup. We started a maple syrup business last year. I thought I didn't like real maple syrup, turns out the mass produced real maple syrup at the store isn't even as good as real maple syrup!
Don’t have a Costco in our area(wish did though)!! But still will watch Mrs. Christine😊won’t miss any of her great videos!!! Thank You Christine for all you do
We are spoiled in west Michigan! The kids and I go down the road in July and pick sweet cherries and sour cherries. Pitting them is really annoying but we do it and then freeze and use all winter long!
@@malindamcgill6918 I make homemade cherry pie, cherry bars, cherry crisp. The sweet cherries are great just to eat frozen or to throw in a smoothie. Cherry smoothie bowls are awesome as well
Our Costco (in Michigan) just switched out the $1 churro for a $2.50 chocolate chip cookie...Same there? I love Costco. By far the best organic products and prices on or organic frozen fruit and steal of a deal on the Orgain protein powder when they are on sale. Family of 12 here with many gluten and dairy issues and Costco is by far the best priced for those specialty items. Thanks for the video!
Great video--as always!! Thank you! A quick observation for California friends...SF Bay Area Costcos seem to charge anywhere from $2-10 higher for all of these items mentioned in this video. California is in its own world when it comes to shopping for groceries, etc. Would love to hear from any other CA residents who also enjoyed this video but were actively looking up how much it cost at their local Costco only to find it costs more... I checked all of the Costcos in the general East/South Bay areas.
Great suggestions, thanks! I’m definitely going to pick up some of these frozen cherries, I’ve never purchased them before. I like to cook my quinoa in vegetable broth or chicken broth to help the flavor.
Love Costco (a little too much) but wow its dangerous going there …. you can drop $500 easy! I buy a-lot of my bulk products from there and some from Sams , I even bought my food processor and Vitamix from there. love the video makes me want to go to Costco now.
I keep the yeast in my freezer, it keeps viable well after the best by date. I always proof my yeast. I love the pesto. My only problem with the greenies is that they only have one size and my dog really should get the petite ones but it's still cheaper even if he gets bigger ones.
I always grab two rotisserie chickens when I'm at Costco and pull off the meat to make my bulk freezer meals. The bones get tossed into the pressure canner with some veggie scraps that I keep in my freezer to make bone broth. I usually get about 8 quarts of broth. Winning!!! The avocado oil is a pretty large bottle for me but I get it anyway and refill my small oil bottle I keep in my cupboard and put the remaining oil in the freezer. It seems to last way longer that way without going rancid. My current bottle is two years old.
Thanks for the tips. Haven't tried the Burrata cheese yet. Have to get a pizza slice every once in a while. Wish they would bring back the loaded pizza. Please mention their bulk raw nuts. 2 pound bags Pecans, walnuts and almonds. Best price anywhere hands down. Thank you Christine. Stay warm and safe. Have a great week.
Just switched membership from Sam’s to Costco (went on a Saturday morning, BAD IDEA!), so this is super-helpful. You even featured a bunch of items that I was already interested in!
I just got a membership and I couldn't get over the price difference on some items. I saved $3 on the rotisserie chicken compared to Publix. And the selection of organic products is much larger than I expected.
Christine! You can make syrup with mapleine and brown sugar and water. Simmer 1 cup water 2 cups brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 teaspoon mapleine until thick. My mom used to make this all the time instead of buying syrup, and when she did I found I couldn’t do less than the real stuff.
I skip this rotisserie chicken and buy a whole chicken for my instant pot. I get chicken for many meals and broth. Here are the ingredients in Costco's chicken: chicken, water, salt, sodium phosphates, hydrolyzed casein, modified corn starch, sugar, dextrose, chicken broth, isolated soy protein lecithin, and mono-and-diglycerides.
It’s interesting to see what the Costcos in the states have. From what I’ve seen in Atlantic Canada, other than the croissants, rotisserie chicken, produce, cheese and frozen berries/mangoes, everything else is vastly different.
I asked my hubcap if he's seen some of the items you were mentioning - and he laughed and commented, "She's funny!" Yep!! You always make me smile, Christine! We should be able to get these things in our Costco - we're in the next state west of you! Thank you for your informative - and amusing! - videos! (and yes, I really DO call him my hubcap!)
You need to try the Kirkland Greek Yogurt, fat-free and high in protein. Add a little honey and it's sweet, but we also add it to savory dishes. $6.99 and it is huge. It is hands down the best Greek Yogurt we have tried.
I love zevia, I don't drink it everyday and never was a soda person but if I want something sweet it fulfills my craving without sugar. I like the citrus flavors, blackcherry, and gingerale
Yep... the hotdogs and drink combo is £1.50 here in the UK amd it is one of the reasons I have a membership... oh and the croissants and birthday cakes! 😋
@kimwieczorek1879 best way is to get before you join the queue for the fuel station. With the big price difference in fuel at Costco there seems to always be a queue.
Also, I would consider getting a Costco membership just for the almond poppy seed muffins because Sam's hasn't carried them in years. But maybe I shouldn't because I don't need to eat a package of giant muffins on the regular. 🤔 Going to stick to Sam's for now.
Watch for deals on their membership. Very often (and recently) they do the purchase a membership for $60 - receive a $40 (maybe $45, I forgot) Costco Gift Card!

I buy the Costco croissant and promptly put them in the freezer. When we plan on using them I put them on a lined cookie sheet and turn on the oven to 375 degrees. The tray goes in the oven immediately. By the time the oven comes up to heat they are ready. They always come out just slightly crispy and heated through- perfect every time. Best way to eat them “fresh”. This ensures none ever go to waste.
The best way to eat croissants: use them to make French Toast. (Optional: add zest of an orange and Flora de Sicilia.) I cut croissants in half, let them soak up the eggs for awhile. So, so good, even better made with old croissants. 😍
Christine, thank you for a great video. We have a Costco and we go once or twice a month for some staples that are healthy, many organic and yummy at much better prices than our local grocery stores. I also use Thrive Market as well. I try to shop grocery store sales, and discount grocery store near me to save us money when at all possible. It may be little savings each time, but it adds up at the end of a year. I hope you and your family have a great 2024 year.
The Costco BBQ chickens are $6.99 here in Australia however, we pay $12.00 for the same at Woolworths and Coles Supermarkets. So funny the difference in countries. Another great video Christine. Jo xxx
Yup, the dark frozen organic cherries are worth the membership. It's why we have a membership. Right now a bag is $9.99 at my Costco. So stock up time. Anyone with or wants to avoid any kind of inflammation/running cramps should be eating dark cherries in morning oatmeal or smoothie:) Thai Kitchen organic coconut milk, six pack is also cheaper at Costco per can. The wild blue berries are really good! Dark sweet cherries and pineapple
Marianne's avocado oil is actually top of the line . Sourced from only one country so it is not mixed with possibly rancid avocados.

Their plain Greek yogurt is a must have. We use it like sour cream, make ranch with it, put fruit & granola on it 👍🏼
Thanks. I'll check out the avocado oil since we switched to that for baking as it's low inflammatory.

I LOVE zevia. The creamy root beer tastes like A&W root beer to me.
YES! Black cherries are the very best fruit on the planet! Cherries have the most distinctive taste, like nothing else!
