I can't wait till they nerf tf out of kazuya and all the tekken players who picked up smash recently actually have to learn how to play smash and end up falling in love WITH THE ULTIMATE FIGHTING GAME
Kazuya isn’t in melee
I hope they nerf your main instead
You talk like smash even requires any brain matter to learn how to play xD.

This is gonna get patched I can almost guarantee it
@@HiShioZakura it won’t though, because that’s how it is in Tekken
@@HiShioZakura only if it becomes a huge problem, bc it’s not glitch...ITS A FEATURE 🤓
It's been a thing since day one, they probably can't patch it out because it's just the way they made the c-stick macro work
This is something that's normal in the actual tekken game.
exactly
Kinda. Nerding out here, but to do any of the 623(DP) moves in the original game, you had to wait a few frames before inputting 23(d, df). You have to input Forward again in order to wavedash, and it's very strict on which frame it will allow you to do so, so it's kinda different, but also the same.
@@victor_0cp No you can do that even more consistently in Tekken and is much harder too.
@@Schnoz42069 I agree its different since it does have I frames as opposed to OG tekken just only crouching under high attacks
@@taleofsonata1 It's only harder if you use stick or analog. I use pad and can do it much easier on PS4 than I can in Ultimate 😭
This technique should be called korean wavedash lol
Wow!It sounds really good,Like somthing you would use to especially backdash! Where did you found that?

Just like from tekken.
Good Mishima players on Tekken do this shit with no "tricks" on a stick.
Smash Players gonna get confused and call this the Korean Tatsu Dash
The shoto dash
@@Xaxan6523 it’s a joke
It’s actually false that using this tech as fast as possible makes him more safe. There will be two frames between each crouch dash with no invincibility. You want to time the presses to happen after frame 14 because doing it early will cancel it before you get full body I frames and it makes you more vulnerable.
It still scares the hell out of the opponent since they see Kazuya coming at the at light speed only for him to grab them, plant them in the ground and delete their entire stock
PrimalX60 I think that's perfect for Kazuya considering how intimidating wavedashing is/can be in Tekken when wielded by someone with skill.
dude you realize its faster than most jabs right?
this is actually exactly how it works in tekken lol. wavedashing too fast (like 8+ cd per second with macros) makes you move ahead slower and makes the moves that come out of it very noticeable, defeating the purpose of the move. you should always be doing it at a controlled speed (5-6 cd/s) so forward movement is decent and moves coming out of it don't become too noticeable
honestly props to the smash devs for putting this much thought into kazuya, it's pretty cool
It does make canceling it way easier though and as long as you find the rhythm for it, it isn't too hard to pull off. I was labbing with a friend who is big into tekken and was teaching him the crouch dash input rhythm for a couple hours. Didn't take too long for both of us to get decent at doing it in the right rhythm.
Remember to reset your stick to neutral after! That makes it much more consistent
Which stick? Or both?
@@Godlysound both yeah
How?
@@calvados7754 let go
@@irok1"let go" lol giving out BOTH practical and philosophical advice
I figured out how to do it flawlessly in about 1 minute. I figured out that if you don’t hold the left joystick (the one you use to move left and right) during the full dash it doesn’t work. The input is; flick the joystick (and continue to hold in that direction) and then flick the c-stick down immediately after for a very brief moment. Hope this helps
Yup this helped me
How to keep doing it after the first one while holding joy stick? I get lost after that do you have to crouch dash cancel into another one or?
@@phazedkilledyou The sequence is basic. Think about it this way, all you have to do is flick and hold both the analog stick and the C-stick in their proper directions, but the C-stick is flicked slightly after the analog stick. Once you’ve done that (the crouch dash), release both of the joysticks back to neutral. This will allow the crouch dash to be cancelled when you flick the analog stick as you’re doing the next crouch dash input.
In other words, do the crouch dash input, release both sticks to neutral as if no one is holding the controller, then crouch dash again.
Do this how ever many times in a row that you want. This is crouch dash movement.
I love how they just legit put tekken in smash like movement tech and all. he feels like youre playing tekken in smash not smash but tekken character
My favorite part of Smash is when a new character is released and the community goes apeshit over a piece of tech they have that’s been in their original games for decades. The best one is definitely the Shoto’s and Terry’s* special move inputs. Though this might actually be broken unlike the special move inputs.
*By the way, Kazuya isn’t a Shoto. He’s a Mishima, separate character archetype (and Terry is weird so he’s just Terry).
Fighting game = shoto stfu nerd
@@julianiskool1255 Okay? That’s not true at all.

@@julianiskool1255 jeez man who pissed in your cereals?
Mishimas is an arquetyoe of its own?
It's funny how similar this is to a technique in Tekken called the korean backdash, which is essentially the same thing but going backwards.
This is literally just normal wavedashing in tekken
This is Mishima Wavedashing... exactly mishima wavedashing.... crouch dash > Forward dash > crouch dash > Forward Dash > repeat... that's mishima wavedashing.
Wavedashing and korean backdashing was originally created by the Tekken community and franchise. The Wavedashing concept came about for Jin in Tekken 3 which he was the only one that use the Technique(which acts as sort of add on maneuvering mechanic to his father aka Kazuya's GWF, then the later games they use it for all the Msihimas characters.
@@mareo187 Just a fun fact. The original backdashing technique people were using is literally just the opposite direction of wavedashing. I guess people call this japanese wavedashing now. The koreans devised a new wavedashing tech because the japanese wavedashing is innefficient and leaves you vulnerable longer which is 3 frames against the korean method which only leaves you vulnerable for 1 frame if dont correctly. Also the reverse wavedashing doesn't work on sway characters like paul, nina etc.
@@mykellederickpalad7883 yes the other characters outside of the Mishimas have a weird way of doing wavedahsing especially characters outside of Tekken like doa which is very slow compare to Tekken's wavedashing.
Mishima mains: "Impressive, you have strong fighter's legs!"
The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Kazuya at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on port priority. The RPS metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.

Kinda wack how aren’t yt certified yet
Lmfao stop playing 😭! Appreciate the love homie
1:17 This is what a Mishima should be, I can't wait to see the enemy panic dodging and the Kazuya still wave dashing and not attacking HAHHAHAHA
smash players would just jump to get out of the grab mix, & kazuya's mix vs opponent's jump while being better than the other characters in his archetype is still pretty limited
@@Marcusjnmc yeahhh most of them might do like u said, but i think some of them will try to block or spot dodge rather then jump out of panic and pressure XD
If you can't do it you're probably releasing the forward input too quickly. Try to *hold* the direction as you tap down on the C-Stick
We need more people like you on youtube lol
I’m happy this channel is still going, you were the guy who got me into Ken and having that goal of getting better at him really helped me push through a rough time in my life. Good luck with everything , I appreciate you and your content
Dang, I can't get the timing of Electric Wind god Fist down correctly and now I'm learning there's new crouch dash tech.
What else will people find?
for EWGF you should just do the intended inputs, it requires precision
Even though the input is easier in smash, the EWGF still requires pretty tight timing.
Just a quick refresher; you have to input the attack button at the same time as the last motion input(which is down-forward). So you input Forward, Down, Down-Forward and attack button at the same time.
I'm not an expert at it, but whats helped me get it consistently is to press the attack button right as my control stick goes down, So: Forward, Down, and as you slide the stick to Down-Forward you input the attack button.
Essentially, think of it as pressing the attack button at the same time as Down instead of Down-Forward.
All of that, or you can look at a much more informative and helpful guide on youtube lol.
For ewgf you can input attack while doing the down motion instead of down forward. Makes it a little easier imo
for me, i try and input A at the same time i input down
@@Schnoz42069 I also had the same problem, and I have a trick that may help. You know how to wave dash right? Right after you wave dash, tap the attack button, and you should get the WGF. Something interesting to note, is that if you hold the attack button after a wave dash, you get that strong electric uppercut(I forgot its name).
Sadly, my method can only be done after a wavedaah, and not while your stationary, so again, I'd also recommend watching a professional guide on it.
You mean wave dash that's been in Tekken forever?

I NAILED IT IMMEDIATELY❤️
This makes his dash grab more menacing than Dio’s aura!
Thank you Ikechi!!!
Kazuya is ults fox as far as controller noises
In Tekken the easiest way to perform this is by inputting dash forward, neutral, then an instant down corner towards the direction you are facing; Rinse and repeat. its good to learn to have mixups when approaching your opponent like a EWGF, Hellsweep, WS (while standing) A button that triggers the stun which can lead to a confirmed kill, tsunami kick, etc. I'm able to pull this off on a joycons and it makes it easier to pull off on the pro controller, I feel like the gamecube controller should be even more easier since you can feel the corner with its octa shape stick. The feel of the corner of your stick hitting the corner you need to dictates whether I've inputted it correctly or not it's why I prefer square gates on Tekken and Octa gates on any other fighter
Smash players: I'm struggling! Tekken players: *eyesclosed* watch this kids.
There is a reason why there’s a archetype in Tekken called “Arthritis”
kazuya in his natural habitat.
I don't see anything wrong here
A trick to remember the timing in your head. go muda muda muda muda muda and flick the forward on the move stick at mu and down on the tilt stick at da
Lmao those 10+ years of playing Kazuya are paying off
To anyone reading: I'm playing on the Smash Box, and I discovered that the trick is to just tap and quickly release the c-stick down input, and still hold the directional input after you release the c-stick input. This will trigger the macro and Kazuya should crouch dash after that. Then just repeat the same input over and over again. If you get Wind God Fist, your timing is incorrect. You might be holding the c-stick too long, or you're doing the set of inputs too fast and they're stumbling over each other.
Editing and thumbnail game always so clean inspirational fr
Kazuya players are getting a lot of good stuff to work with, that top tier potential is rising higher and higher
I wouldn't be surprised if Veteran Tekken players who use Kazuya would be able to do this instantly in Smash consistently lol. This is literally wavedashing but with extra perks.
This is a normal technique in Tekken, so it's possible to an extent. Washdashing is only available to the Mishimas tho.
@@Hondunu Not really, Bob, Hwoarang and both Kings can wavedash (regular king has a weird wavedash input though, more similar to what most people seem to be doing - and getting away with - on Smash with Kazuya).
Can do it but there is just a slight difference in my rhythm as to how free moving tekken’s movement is from smash.
@@lucastonoli3256 wait there's a different way to dash with king? Doesn't Paul have a sort of wave dash also. Themainmanswe could be good at this.
@@lucastonoli3256 That's nice to hear, been wanting to sorta main Bob for a while.
If you jitter the stick between down and down forward he’ll infinitely dash without needing the two sticks, idk why people are saying the dash input is the shoryuken input, it’s down forward - down - down forward, the shoryuken input is for the wind god fist
The tech is actually called extended dash. When you do it with other characters. It usually doubles your initial dash distance and ends it with a walk animation. It’s pretty good on sheik, but it’s very broken on Kazuya due to the reasons stated in the video.
Not quite, since this is not a foxtrot, but a unique animation that plays when inputting the macro. The special dash is unlike all other characters because it has some unique properties, (other then the invincibility) like how it can be canceled into shield.
Your taste is very good, the final BGM "Shooting Star" is very good
NICE!
Also, I’m not sure why this works, but if you mash down + forward on the left stick, you can also wave dash without inputting the command for it
Idk why this works, but that’s how I’ve been able to do it
You can buffer it out of landing lag, dash/dashback or Nejiri Uraken cancel. If you reset sticks to neutral during the crouch dash you can jump or dash/dashback at any point in the animation. Also you can get all the shoryu inputs of the macro, except Electric that's the only one that has to be done manually the legit way
Ohhhhh I know about this input trick, I use the c stick to help do fair drag downs with Falco, awesome video my guy!!
Me: hmm.. I wonder if Kazuya can wavedash like he can in Tekken
Ikechi: say no more
Actual tekken input
EDIT: This method of thinking helped in the beginning but I sat down and took more time to understand this video and I am wrong.
It helps me to think of it as doing three inputs over and over: LS(FW)RS(DWN)LS(FW)
The moment I stopped thinking of it as 2 moves instead as 3 moves over and over, it helped for some reason.
Also starting out slow and ramping up helps. If you're having a hard time, shoot for being able to do it a set distance. Then see if you can do the whole practice flat. THEN, try to do the whole practice flat while pushing the cpu. If you hit the cpu, you have to start over.
The outro music. Hopefully we get a Megaman character next
We won’t lol, but I really wished Geo or rogue was in smash lol
Megaman Starforce music? Now that’s rare. Great choice!
YOOOOO this’ll help with the min min matchup
And the swordies too. Kazuya has a LOT of potential
He has a whole entire wavedash
The Korean Dash technique, I must learn
This man got the Korean Dash in smash 😭. Sakurai you mad man

Great content bro as always, ive actually been watching since when ultimate dropped
AYE A DAY ONE! Thanks 😄
playing back your version of doing it at 1:50,
you have:
10 frames of invincibility, 7 frames of vulnerability.
but at 1:57 that guy seems to only have about 4 or 5 frames of vulnerability
if you're not that good at it, its basically a coinflip at that point.
Just good ol' fashioned Tekken movement. Nothing out of the ordinary here.
I think our boy Gimr found this tech on Day 1
Goat
His legs are still vulnerable. Aim projectiles lower (like pits arrows) or see if u can hit a dtilt. Watch for a dash back or a jump in if they wise up.
This is how Kazuya's wave dash works in Tekken except using the manual input that works in Smash as well which is: ➡⭐⬇↘➡➡⭐⬇↘➡➡...
The macro and input shortcuts make this much easier but it probably won't be patched out since this is how he is designed.

in tekken the high crush window of wave dash is very very small its almost non-existent *cries in the corner*
Guys wavedashing originated from tekken not melee
CORRECT AND Korean backdash too
Nintendo created this character to kill the competitive scene.
In the next patch, his attacks will all have the same range as Min Min.
And Min Min will have the original range of Kazuya. Just watch. They'll do it.
Nah to be honest… Sakurai did it cause he’s legitimately a pretty damn big fighting game fan and he just really wanted Kazuya to play like a Tekken character.
Ultimate should just give us a dedicated dash button. We don't need 3 ways to do regular jumps. Make one a new movement option. :(
It's still surprising that majority of the Tekken community don't know how to wave with any Mishima character. There is 2 type of wavedash for Kazuya which is the 1st one is forward, neutral, down- foward ➡️, N, ↘️(which is exclusively made for Kazuya) that one is called mist step & there is the one which claim to be the most difficult one by fighting game community which is forward, neutral(pause for a mili-second), down, & finally down-foward ➡️, N, ⬇️, ↘️
I did not know you had to use tilt stick. I was trying it on smash stick and almost ragequit
LOL they literally made normal ass wavedashing broken as fuck lmao good
I literally clicked on the video just because I saw Rougue symbol
its not a glitch its a wavedash it just buffers when you tap forward again after doing crouch dash notation like this tekken players know will know this notation F,D,DF,F F then repeat or CD,F,CD,F repeat
I think this should be called mist step, which is what Kazuyas simplified crouch dash input is called in Tekken

Definetily new bayonetta
Are people actually calling for this technique to be patched out of the game?
I know a lot of Smash players aren't that well-versed in other games, especially other fighting games, but gimme a break.
In Tekken, this is basically Mishima 101, the bulk of their gameplay. Taking that away would be like ripping out Wolverine's adamantium claws; it won't happen, and it'd look really bad otherwise.
Sakurai has been known to take out things that are too overpowered and this isn't too hard so there's a chance it'll be patched out, or atleast nerfed.
This is Mishima Wavedashing... exactly mishima wavedashing.... crouch dash > Forward dash > crouch dash > Forward Dash > repeat... that's mishima wavedashing.
