Looks great dude! Love a good mushroom dip! The bread that you got looks good. You don't want something like a baguette (which is too tough) but a french roll and those look like they would be ideal. Philippe's pre-dips theirs but Coles (the other place that claims to have invented them) gives you a side of jus to dip yourself, which is my preferred method so things don't get too soggy! Hope your voice is back to 100 soon!
Omg thank you for saying you prefer to wash your mushrooms!! I always do and get weirded out when people just brush the dirt off because there's no way all that dirt is gone lol... 🤢
@@SauceStache Same! I will always wash them and I never have issues either. I actually think it works in my benefit even more because not only are they cleaner but they expel more water which I like to use when making gravy. If I'm not making a gravy, then I let them cook longer. It's so weird that people get so bent over washing lol. 😂
A long time ago, Alton Brown did an experiment to see if washing mushrooms would leave them waterlogged, as so many people believe. He found that the washed mushrooms were only marginally heavier than the brushed mushrooms, which indicated that a bit of water was clinging to the outside (and would easily cook out), but no appreciable amount of water soaked into the mushrooms.
I love french dip sandwiches with steak fries. Now that I've switched to a whole food plant based diet I bet this mushroom version will fill in for the roast beef version I used to eat. Can't wait to try it. Oh, and I just ordered the Plant Based Seasonings in Beef, Chicken, and Ham. Thanks for your videos and big thanks to Monica for taste testing for us :)
I haven't watched one of your videos in a couple of months and the first thought that popped into my mind was "hey this dude lost weight and looks fitter"! Great job, keep it up!
This was the Sunday evening Snndwich we used to eat after returning home from visiting Grandmom and my favorite Aunt who always stuffed me with their awesome meals, sandwiches ,desserts and ice cream!!! But the roast beef and the juice was so delicious !! Thank you for your vegan version and thanks for advertising the vegan meat flavors. It’s just what I have been looking for and special thanks to Monica !!!!❤❤❤
Ran into a very similar voice issue a few months ago and it lingered for a long time. Best thing you can do is completely rest your voice for at least a few days. Mine came back to 100% after that. Love the content, thank you!
If want more patties like for your mushroom. Then slices them. Up from top to bottom then soak them in a broth of your liking then cook like you do normally do.
did anyone mention to you slippery elm lozenges? you can usually find them at whole foods or other natural foods stores. its what singers use when their voice is hoarse for performing. also i find carbonated beverages dont help when my voice is scratchy. good luck
Is it just me, or does the dog appear to be thinking something along the lines of, “She doesn’t like soggy sandwiches?!? What I wouldn’t do for a single bite!”
I probably would bake the bun first so it is crispy (if it is a softer bread) then instead of dipping the whole bread in I would get a ladle and put the sauce on the inside of the bread first then the mushrooms and cheese. If they want a soggier bite dip it in the sauce dip bowl after each bite.
I've never had a French dip sandwich, but about 10 years ago i worked in a restaurant that served it and every day at the end of the day we would dump out the dregs of the au jus and it was like the most delicious smell ever lol. I'm still remember it.
Glad you're feeling a bit better. I didn't know you guys had a dog. So cute! I agree with Monica I too dislike soggy sandwiches, but it does look good.
Mushrooms are just so versatile, I love them but definitely don't eat them enough. I would love to try these as a base for a Shepherd's pie, I am sure they would taste amazing! Also, I am totally on the Monica's side when it comes to soggy sandwiches :D You should have just skipped the dipping of her sandwich, I am sure it would have a lot of flavor anyways!
Looks so good! I might have to try making one if these. The only thing I’d do differently is butter and grill the bread. I love me a wet sandwich. You just gotta eat it fast which how I roll anyway. A Chicago Italian beef is one of my favorite wet sandwiches. Love your channel dude 🤤
This is super similar to a sandwich I would make for my wife and I before the pandemic I didn't do any broth but the cheese onion and mushroom are spot on I did use a ciabatta bread from Sam's Club which I toasted If this is anything like that which I think it is these are great Sandwiches
Just like Monica, I too dislike a soggy roll. I'm from Philadelphia- the land of cheesesteaks, and I always preferred a hoagie, which would stay unsoggy. The mushrooms looked great. I'll bet it would be a great sandwich on a toasted roll (not dipped) and dip it bite by bite. I'm gonna try it. 👍
@SauceStache when I was in my punk band (some 100 million years ago) I used to lose my voice too after a gig. But I am pretty sure you don't want to try my "remedy" XD... 3/4 of bottle of peach juice with a 1/4 of Vodka. Wouldn't do that any more, I am KO for a week with a pint of regular ale... but I bet these sandwich cure everything!! (I am running to the supermarket to get mushrooms!)
It's a bit weird for us British people because for us a Sandwich is between two slices of bread. We would call what you are emulating there a steak roll. Is anything between bread layers called a sandwich in America. It looks amazing.
You: "Well, I'm gonna place this cast-iron frying pan on top of the mushrooms to press them and you all can go on press the subscribe button and the like button" 😂not a stranger to this IRIE Channel Sauce Stache but I just realized while I've liked your videos👍always, like the Don't boil your pasta, soak it video, I'm now subbed to ya!✌🤠
I love all your recipes! But please make a video just about your weight loss process and how have you been able to keep it down. I need to get inspired. Looking at you makes me feel hopeful. I joined Noom after seen you but a couple of weeks later and I don’t know if this is going to really work. Please make a video for us about your honest process! 🙏💕
Monica’s sandwich should be grilled and then thicken some dip with cornstarch to have it more like a thick gravy to dip-no pre-dip for hers she’d like it better. ❤
As always..a great explanation.. Christianity says that anyone that reads the books of Moses will have a veil over their eyes! 😂 They don't want people to read Moses's books because they will see TRUTH! The book of Deuteronomy made me cry and stop being a Christian! I cudnt believe what i was reading.. God is alone and will not arbitrate with ANY man in our behalf.. so there gies the mediator... If one is being honest with themselves, the book of Deuteronomy will crush Jesus abd the New testament.. actually one verse crushes the New testament and Jesus.. Numbers 23 19 God is not a man or the son of man... Eye opening!
Yeah it would be insane if I hated meat to make my entire career about making things taste like meat. Maybe thats not the thing? Doesn't that make more sense that the insane thing you think is real... is wrong. I love the taste of meat... which is why I replicate it. and before you ask "ThEn WhY dOnT YOu JuST EAt meAt" because I dont want to... try to think of a reason someone might not want to harm animals when the only thing you enjoy is the taste.
Ahhhhh Phelippes. Cash only. Line up for 30 mins is part of the experience! Don’t forget an ice cold Miller Lite, spicy mustard and a piece of their legendary apple pie.

Monica is doin the hard work just for us! Even when she doesn’t like it we’re happy to hear her opinion.
Omg thank you for saying you prefer to wash your mushrooms!! I always do and get weirded out when people just brush the dirt off because there's no way all that dirt is gone lol... 🤢
Hahah right! I am a mushroom washer through and through and I’ve never noticed a difference! People get so bent out of shape over it

@@SauceStache Blame the French.

You’re really going to enjoy them!!! Thank you

This sandwich looks amazing!
I've been looking for you was pleased to see you on this morning!
I have made this twice and it tastes soooo good, I use not so beef bullion, but is still fantistic!!!! Permanently on my menu!!!!
If want more patties like for your mushroom. Then slices them. Up from top to bottom then soak them in a broth of your liking then cook like you do normally do.
That press segue LOL 👌
hahaha ive been working on it!! hahah
Thank you

Hell yeah!! This looks so damn *good* ! Y’all gone be thirsty as hell after eatin that! Lol
Is it just me, or does the dog appear to be thinking something along the lines of, “She doesn’t like soggy sandwiches?!? What I wouldn’t do for a single bite!”
Monica literally has the best job in the world!
Whenever I have a sore throat or a cold I make a hot ginger tea (grated ginger, lemon juice) and take it with liquid ionic zinc. 😊
I love ginger teas! I’ve had liters of it this week!

Good puppies can have a little mushroom.
GOOD AFTERNOON SAUCYMAN!
Glad to see the MSG gargle worked for you lol.
Hahaha 🤣 it worked!!! Goooood afternoon CHRISTOPHER
Dude you are looking great!
To crisp up the bread you can just toast it in a pan with the lid on.

Ok, suggestion. Konjac powder to make seafood (shrimp?)

You are wading into dangerous territory. Depending on who you ask, a hot dog is a sandwich over here.
Hahahaha I love Trent’s answer! Honestly who knows. Everything here is named poorly haha 😂
Such an interesting concept a wet sandwich, clearly it's all in the way you make it, as always, if it can be veganised you can do it. Nice video guys.
Idc if its beef or not, i just want the mushroom sandwhich!
Looks amazing!
Is the recipe listed somewhere? I don't see it on your website. Thanks.
Wtf, you Lost Some weight, you Look Amazing!
Thank you soooo much!! Lots of little changed over the last 2 years!
You should have made Monicas sandwich 1/2 soggy and 1/2 toasted lol😂
I'm with Monica lol I hate soggy and wet food😅 but that does look good!

Yeah, I think the whole wet sandwich thing was someone making a mistake and not wanting to admit they dropped the sandwich in some soup. I hate it.
I haven't watched in a while. You lost weight! Nice work dude

MY MAAAAAAN!!!
My mannnnnnnn!!!!
Yummy😊🤤
What about the not beef bouillon cubes? Would that work as seasoning?

Hey there my vejje bro ur recipes are amazing I like subvay pattie recipe 😊
i would love to taste that sandwich :D
No shipping to Germany. :(
How to make the seasoning? It's not available in my location.
That mushroom could easily be served on rice and it would taste amazing. Gotta Vegan Babish.
Hey 😅😅😅😅
The Dog 🐕 said why I'm not invited to the party😢🎉😢🎉❓
Looks yummy! And a good substitute for tofu since my store isn't selling tofu right now. T_T
Now that's what I'm talking about. Definitely gonna try this
Here's a Deli Sub made from veggies from Wicked Kitchen, in case you haven't seen it yet....🌿 ruclips.net/video/UvECdngbJKk/видео.html
Oh wow you're looking so trim now
Is it possible for u to make mushroom noodles?
👍👍👍👍👍
Right!!! Thank you
Everything good until you reveal that we need to buy the seasoning to get the flavor… 😢
Maybe just turn the jus into a gravy would take away the sog, and Monica would like it better. :^).
Ahh that explains why couldn't really find the specific crumbles you used other than fake meats and amazon
My gosh. You’re losing layers of fat. Looking GOOD.
Wow you look like you have lost a lot of weight , you look fantastic
Damn when did you lose all the weight? Congrats!
Thank you!!! Yeah been really working on it! Lots of little changes over the last 2 years
woah, you lost a lot of weight
Damn, you lost a lot of weight

Challenge making vegan food for cardiac diet
Why does every Vegan try with all of the power to make everything they eat taste exactly like meat? I thought you hated meat. That's insane.
Yeah it would be insane if I hated meat to make my entire career about making things taste like meat. Maybe thats not the thing? Doesn't that make more sense that the insane thing you think is real... is wrong.

Clove and nutmeg does not sound like good seasoning for this 😮
I thought that too, but its spot on I think after making it.
Ahhhhh Phelippes. Cash only. Line up for 30 mins is part of the experience! Don’t forget an ice cold Miller Lite, spicy mustard and a piece of their legendary apple pie.
