  • From all the suckers I’ve seen getting caught today I had no expectations of catching any bows. I was also surprised getting into some early smallmouth bass. Water must be getting warmer if bass are starting to come in this early.
    I hope you guys enjoy the video…

    The man, the myth and the legend. I was hoping you would land a bow in the crank baits. Nice to see you get into a few on the bait caster. Well done Ron.

    Not surprised for the smallmouth Bass sometimes there’s babies in the river in the winter

      I’ve never seen smallmouth babies in the winter but I do see a lot of river minnows hiding under the ice slabs in the winter by the shore

    Nice spring steel. Smallies not as much a surprise as one would think, this is usually time they will start to enter into rivers from further downstream or lake to spawn as well. They are like suckers, super aggressive and often don’t give a/the steelie’s in a pool or run a chance to hit!! 🥃

      I usually get the odd one or 2 later in the month when it starts to warm up. I do see them in may when they start to get ready to spawn

    Great catch!
    Any recommendations on places to fish near the Oakville and Mississauga area for steelhead? And what bait to use?

    Great video. I've never used a leader before and am going to try it. What is your preferred knot to attach the leader to braided line?

    • @PUMPKNOWSFISHING
      @PUMPKNOWSFISHING  Месяц назад +1

      I personally use a uni to uni knot. It’s the only knot I have confidence in that won’t break on me. I’ve tried others and I can’t tie them properly

    I like your catch, unhook and release technique with the net. No hands on the fish, etc. Better for the fish.

      I find when you over handle fish they get more stressed out and chance of them surviving gets lower
