Beautiful guitar! Sounds new and a little tight but oh so Gorgeous.
Regarding strings everyone has their own opinion? Mine and everyone I play with suggest that Martin strings sound great for about a week. Then switch to Elixer 12-53 or D’addario XS in Phosphor Bronze lights as they sound great, put less tension on your guitar and last 5x as long.

It should read “Just when you thought a D45 couldn’t get any more expensive “

I've been a Martin owner since 1970. I currently have four. I've never been able to find a set of Martin strings I like although I keep trying. They make incredible guitars. The strings don't do the guitars justice.

Tony P. recommended GHS Vintage Bronze. My Martin Dread came alive. Someone asked me if I got a new guitar. Sadly they only lasted about 3 or 4 hours playing time and died. Back to Elixers.

Concerning titanium strings: I am currently been using the Luxe titanium strings for over a 1 1/2 yrs., on the following: D 28, OM-modern deluxe, GPC-28E and the Flyfisher 00L. I used the prosperous bronze, but they sound too bright. The luxe titanium is in between a retro and the phosphorus bronze, less bright, and hear more of theGuitar and better note separation. They last a long time and I also wiped them down with Fast after playing.

Have you tried the Ernie ball aluminum bronze strings? I’m curious about how they sound.

I have one. I use titanium string with Liquid Metal bridge pins. It sounds like a piano. It’s indeed incredibly amazing. I have other martin, Taylor, gibson, Lakewood, Yamaha and maton. But it is incomparable.

Nice to see and hear. Does it have an adjustable truss rod? Some Authentic series have the lollipop, not adjustable truss rod. Also, are those strings the $40 a set Luxe?

Inccredible guitar. Never used Titanium as they are $40 i believe. I do have the Martin Luxe Kover (new from Martin as of last year, $20 a set) and I really like them. I have them on my two Martins: One guitar 000-16 StreetMaster (VTS Adirondack) they are the best ive found for that one, maybe. But on my HD28V, I think i like the Daddario XS's best, but the Kovar still sound good.

Ah strings - no wrong answers - just what you like. On my 1969 D18 I use RETROS. On my 2015 D15M I use LUXE. On my 2018 Custom GP18E KOA I use Lifespan PBs. On my 1972 Guild D44M (maple) I use Lifespan 80/20s. All different woods all with different strings.

I've used Titanium's on a custom 41/35 style Martin Rosewood and on the David Gilmour D35 (Sinker Mahogany).
I really love them on the Mahogany but didn't like them on the Rosewood. I run Stringjoy Naturals (Phospher Bronze) on the Rosewood now and much prefer it.
The Titanium's didn't have as much upper sparkle

was the mic turned on during the intro? Sounded like it was from a room mic.

Not the D 45 sound we’re used to. Sounds more like a Taylor. It will probably age nicely though.

Looks beautiful but it’s probably 20k and would it be 5 times better than a D-42?

I like the Luxe Cobalt strings and those are $20 which my limit. Titanium strings at $40 per set is a little pricey to me and can't imagine a $20 difference between those and the Cobalt ones from a tone perspective and how long they last before its time to change out.
