Just going by the video, there wasn’t much point in “manning up” before that man did. He was just mouthing off sounding stupid. It wasn’t until he started actually moving about the plane (increasing the threat level) when the guy stepped up. You’re calling everyone a coward, but do you physically intervene with every guy that’s mouthing off in public? Probably not.

@Josh Johnston honestly I know it would be a dangerous situation to confront him with a knife, but I'd honestly feel like I'd rather confront him anyway just to avoid the possibility of harm to the pilots. I'm much more likely to survive minor stab wounds (only minor due to others helping apprehend him) than I would a plane crash or even worse, a plane hijack

At this point it makes no sense to not have security workers on every flight and a seat in the back of the plane in a sealed off area just for people like this. That way they are contained safely for not only injury to themselves but to others until the plane is landed and people are removed.
