Love your channel Doña Rachel! I Going through older ones. I hand cut my cabbage, taught to slice razor thin by a Nicaraguan lady. Ensalada repollo is an everyday dish there. Love your recipes, no nonsense, no dancing, singing, silly jokes, you are so calm and organized! Gracias!

I made this coleslaw tonight and it is GREAT! I've never used my food processor for coleslaw. I'll be using this easy recipe for coleslaw in the future. I cannot believe how fast and easy this was to make! Thanks for the recipe. This makes 4 out of 4 recipes of your recipes I've tried. All four were 'over the top'! Goodness, your loaded Baked Potato Cheese Casserole was a new one for me. Wow!

I can make a meal out of this entire bowl of delicious slaw! This is a favorite here at home and I'm so glad you added celery seed as I just love the flavor it gives the coleslaw. Let me tell you last evening we made your chimichangas and they were a totally true homerun with Johnny, his sister and my cousin. Thank you so much for the tip about the making the flour paste as that's perfect to keep them closed. I also made extra as you are so right, they freeze just beautifully. May this new week and month bring you and your Ron every blessing you need and some extras that will just delight both your hearts. You're fantastic and I sure do love having you in my life my dear amiga.

Thank you my friend, this Coleslaw is one of my Ron's favorite side dish, he'll request it when we grill outside, since we do that on weekends...I like that it is easy and delicious too, I'd rather use celery seed than the whole rib, I'm so happy to hear about your chimichangas!! They are always a hit, very hearty and the paste always helps when frying (you can fill them with almost anything). Your beautiful spirit is so refreshing, I look forward to your posts as they really lift our spirits my friend, we need lots of happy, positive people like you in this world. Thank you so much dear friend, blessings to you and your Johnny. XOXO❤

    “The History of 'APRONS'
I don't think our kids know what an apron is. The principle use of Grandma's apron was to protect the dress underneath because she only had a few. It was also because it was easier to wash aprons than dresses and aprons used less material. But along with that, it served as a potholder for removing hot pans from the oven.
It was wonderful for drying children's tears, and on occasion was even used for cleaning out dirty ears.
From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks, and sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished in the warming oven.
When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids..
And when the weather was cold, Grandma wrapped it around her arms.
Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow, bent over the hot wood stove.
Chips and kindling wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron.
From the garden, it carried all sorts of vegetables. After the peas had been shelled, it carried out the hulls.
In the fall, the apron was used to bring in apples that had fallen from the trees.
When unexpected company drove up the road, it was surprising how much furniture that old apron could dust in a matter of seconds.
When dinner was ready, Grandma walked out onto the porch, waved her apron, and the men folk knew it was time to come in from the fields to dinner.
It will be a long time before someone invents something that will replace that 'old-time apron' that served so many purposes.
Send this to those who would know (and love) the story about Grandma's aprons.
    REMEMBER:
Grandma used to set her hot baked apple pies on the window sill to cool. Her granddaughters set theirs on the window sill to thaw.
They would go crazy now trying to figure out how many germs were on that apron.
I don't think I ever caught anything from an apron - but love...”
