I feel like they should just get rid of the code buttons on the front and just use an RFID and back Key option to open it, then make the time lights larger and maybe add lights for "Set Alarm" and stuff like that, even if they don't work. It would just make it look more realistic. The time lights are so small for such a large "clock" that it looks suspicious to me. Also, like others have said, having their name on the front? They don't need to advertise, put the name on the bottom or something and a fake brand on the front.

If someone has enough time look through and be picky about brands, you’re likely not going to be left with much let alone worried about a little clock safe.
Yeah, I don’t get it. If someone is able to get into your house uninvited in the first place, there’s a major problem with your setup to begin with. If you’re really that worried, invest in a nice big secure safe, not a tiny one that barely holds two guns.
I keep a S/A Hellcat w/Optic and an Sig P938 with an extra mag for each. It's a little tight but functional and I can retrieve either firearm easily. I wish it was a little more discreet as to its purpose with maybe a radio faceplate or fake controls over the battery cover and not plastering the Hornaday brand on the front. I think I'm going to 3d print a different cover.
I bought it because of the slide-out drawer. But I don't seem to be capable of programming the darned thing. I've followed all the instructions several times. I have gotten all the success signals on entering a four digit code. Won't open. What secret am I missing?

Nice review, but I still prefer the Vara Safety Reach 2. It can be mounted to any piece of furniture or inside a vehicle with a car mounting kit. It's also biometric to only programmed fingerprints, so even tho the weapon is exposed, kids can't take it out of the safe. It can also withstand more than 300 lbs of force and the lock will not let the weapon go. I've got one mounted to my drivers seat in the car and it is literally just under my knee when driving. I've got another bolted to the side of my bed's frame on my side. The wife has one on her side. Similar price too. Car mount kit a little extra, but well worth it. Safe isn't limited to certain weapon sizes either, like this is. Sub-compact up to full size. Your choice.
I like this option better than the radio vault, but think it can borrow some design elements from it. The radio vault is to big, and being it has modern interfaces, probably a stealing target making it more retro like this one does, is better. Thanks for the review, i do like this, but i think it needs 3 changes to be perfect. remove the numbers on the front, make them only light up when pressed, or, make it a clock radio since its retro, and make those buttons up on top like that type of device has commonly, then make them the combination keys as well, only they say things that are appropriate to a clock radio. The spring you already mentioned, and last is, remove the hornady logo from the front panel..... it 100% defeats the purpose of a concealed safe, to advertise its a related to guns manufacturer right on its front.

I just purchased one of these. How hard do you have to push your door in to get it to lock? I seemingly have to push it in way harder to get the sensor to trigger than the product videos shows.
That’s hard to say without actually feeling your safe. There’s a spring providing resistance that you have to overcome but I wouldn’t say it’s anything too crazy. Definitely heavier than a kitchen drawer but not like pushing furniture or anything like that.
Definitely a good buy but wish there was another option in colors.. The wife will shoot me if I get a plain black box on her new cream colored nightstands.. I found a similar option with the color I need but sold out. I’ll keep looking…

Bought the clock safe product and the clock is always off in a short amount of time. Suddenly after several months the green lock light stays on. Called customer service and the call was answered by a sarcastic passive aggressive trash employee. He claimed that I could mail the heavy thing in but the processor has not and will not be corrected as they use the same one and "are trying to find another processor" since it's inception. He also claimed that the green light has always been a constant light although I told him repeatedly that was not the case when I purchased it. He mocked me for saying the green lock light defeated the low profile purpose of the safe saying "oh wow, a giant greenight that's 1/2" tall" This man has represented Hornady as an absolutely disgusting company to deal with. I told him that was **** move and he said I was being "aggressive" Lol find a way to live better Hornady guy...

WD-40 is not a lubricant. Use gun oil or another light oil.

How do you change the time?
You press the button that says time then adjust with arrows. This was listed in the manual.
